How to get songs into alphabetical order (iPhone 4)

Hi all, ive currently switched from a 3GS to an iPhone 4, but however my i click the Music app, and click 'Songs' tab, there is no alphabetical order? (Below in the picture) Its just done by ABC etc. But no in that little tab where on the right it shows the alphabet and for example you click 'M' and it takes you to your songs that start with 'M'.

So how do i get it to display with alphabetical and with the tab where you can click a letter and it takes you to songs starting with that letter you choose?

You may want to manually input the metadata for the songs. To do so, highlight the songs that you would like to group in an album > Right-click > Get Info (Be careful, you only want to edit the Album information).

How to switch from reverse alphabetical order?

Please forgive a newbie question: when I open a list view of my hard drives in Finder, the names of the folders are listed in reverse alphabetical order, with the Z's on top, and the A's on the bottom. How can I change it so that it displays the A's on top and the Z's on bottom, whenever I open the view? Thanks in advance.

Click the "Name" bar, so the small triangle faces up again.
You know you can also sort by Date Modified, etc, just click on the column's topbar.

How to import images in alphabetical order???

How may I import images in alphabetical order? I have a stack of images that I have renamed so that they are in alphabetical order. However, when I import these ~100 images into iPhoto, it sorts them in some other order (perhaps, although I am not sure, by time taken). If iPhoto does not allow one to import alphabetically (although I sure hope it does, since this would be very convenient), any ideas how I may modify the image taken time so that I can get this set imported in the order that I need?

What print service are you using? Is it an online print service? Or an iPhoto plug-in? To upload to a website you should export the photos (a Desktop folder is convenient) and choose the exports for the upload.
If you are using the Finder to see a list of files, the Finder always lists them in alpha-numeric order. To get a list of photos to export to your Desktop (for uploading) and preserve your order, try this: create an Album, sort them the way you want, then Export to a Desktop folder. In the Export dialog, choose "use Album name" as the filename option. This will preserve your order upon export and name the files "Album name - 01.jpg, Album name - 02.jpg, ..., Album name - 99.jpg." It only works with 99 or fewer photos in the album, so for more photos create another album.

How to arrange albums in alphabetical order?

iTunes was bad enough before; I had to work hard to get my music sorted on it. Now the updated programme is utterly dreadful. Albums are not listed alphabetically any more, and I can't see the individual pieces of music within an album. Can someone tell me how to get albums listed alphabetically, for a start?

Thank you for bringing this up and for the useful info - I have found the updated iTunes incredibly muddling. Why, if they were going to change it, didn't they improve it instead of make it less useable?
I have over 4000 'songs' and most are classical, and I, too, spent years cataloguing them with composer name, conductor, orchestra, etc. so that iTunes could sort them in a way that was useful to me and easy to find. Now, the grid with albums is not in any particular order at all - how do you find something like that?
What I find to be the biggest problem of all in the update: you can no longer search for a particular 'song' by a word in title, album title, composer/artist, etc. just by typing it in the search box and searching all of your tracks - that list is no longer there. As far as I can make out, you can only search through particular playlists. If anyone has any information about this, I would be so grateful! - Thanks.
(p.s. - I know that this section is iTunes for Windows, but I have a Mac and I have not found the answer to my question anywhere)

Once done, you will find the output type generated via ME22N: Menupath: Goto->Messages.

I have images pulling into site but it seems to be pulling them based on most recent added, is there any way to pull by file name alphabetically?
I'm not too experienced with CF but I am good with HTML/CSS trying to fix some things on a friends site due to a runaway backend developer.

Before you start using your list, convert it to an array using ListToArray(), then do an ArraySort() on it. I'd also consider replacing your code with a loop that loops over your list or array and adds the <div> and <img> elements. Then you can accommodate any number of pictures in a more dynamic fashion.

How to manage Events in the new app Photo ?

Hello,
I downloaded the new app Photo, and I have a big problem of using : I can't use the same way of managing my photos than iPhoto.
In the previous iPhoto, I create "Events" and these events constitute a "album".
For example, I have iPhoto Events "Soho", "Tower Of London", "Pub with friends" etc in the album "London", which operate like a Playist.
Since I have been using Photo, my iPhoto events became Albums, and the new Events are Moments, that we cannot rename !
The problem is when I am in the London Album, I can't reach my event "Pub with friends" directly, I can only reach the Moment, with a non-explicite name... So I don't know where I was, that's catastrophic for me and my XXX photos..
How can I do to avoid this lost of information ? It's not possible to rename all the Moments by the name of the old events ?
I liked this way of classification, Apple stucked us in this way and now changes the rules !

Do you mean that the contextual menu will only offer "Show in Moments"? The moments are more useful, if you assign locations by adding GPS tags to your photos before importing them to Photos. Moments are based on dates and locations. That will take care of the "where I was".
If your photos have GPS assigned, you can click the name of the location in the Moment and see the photos on an Map, for example:

I have some problem with IPHOTO,How to take back up and reinstall i photo. Everytime i start I PHOTO there is a message showing that 15 photos have been recovered do you want to save or not,whatever i do it creates empty folders and it asks two times before starting .

Order of photos

How do I put the photos on the iPod in a particular order? I am using iTunes on Windows to synchronize the photos from a folder. They do not appear in alphabetic order on the iPod, which is what I would want.
The intention to have a map on my iPod, so the pictures must be in a specific order both in the six-collumn thumbnail preview and when browsing through them.
The same actually applies to mp3s: unless I put them in a Playlist, they are not in alphabetic order.

I had the same problem, the photos would load on my iPod Nano in seemingly random order. I ended up dowloading Adobe Photoshop Album Started Edition 3.0. This program works great for organizing your photos and you can even order them for placement on your iPod. Also, this program is free, though it bugs you about registering (also free, requires only an e-mail address). Once registered though, I found it very good. You are able to assign multiple tags to your photo collection and search them easily.
Anyways, in the program, you simply assign the photos you want on your iPod to a collection (I named mine iPod). You can then order these photos by dragging, or chronologically. Then, in iTunes, you merely select Adobe Photoshop Album in the photo options of you iPod, and put a check next to the collections you want to download. I do not know how it manages multiple collections in ordering of photos.

Photos. They are on my macBook, backed up on time machine. Copied them (hours and hours) to external hard drive. They are now in alphabetical order (19,000 of them) NOT IN THEIR EVENTS or date order-and have been taken with different cameras- help!!!!!!

I want to take them all off my laptop, now............as I need to use it for WORK!!
Copied them (hours and hours) to another external hard drive.
They are now in alphabetical order (all 19,000+ of them) NOT IN THEIR EVENTS or date order. (-They have also been taken with different cameras over the years and some of the generic camera numbering remains.)
I have tried to copy them (only a few as an experiment) one event at a time, but that again "opens up" the Event "folder" and tips them out as individuals and therefore just lists image letters and numbers alphabetically.
How can I copy
the whole library still in "Events" to an external hard drive?
the folders/albums I have already made on to this hard drive?
and how can I add to this back up monthly, again keeping events and folders separate and updated?
Mac is so user friendly - there must be a way.........

UPDATE : I have re-installed from disk, various apps that were no longer functioning such as iLife, iWork etc. So, I now can access my photos again.
Also, I had to re-install all the software for my printer ( Stylus Pro 4880 ) and reset it so the printer is working again.
Photoshop CS4 won't open. I think I will have to get in touch with Adobe as basically, I guess they have a built-in "blocker" which prevents me from opening the app as the license is for only 1 user and having re-installed the OS, there are now, in effect, 2 users ( Me and Me 1, I think ).
So, having added on a new external HD, Time Machine has made a copy of most of the files, folders, apps etc onto the external HD. The internal HD is still nearly full ( 220 GBs out of 232 GBs ).
I am guessing the way to go now in order to free up space on the internal HD is to delete/trash older photos from my iPhoto library and hope that if needed, I will be able to access them on the external HD.
Am I correct ? Please advise before I do something I will regret.
