How to tell current wifi connection protocol?

Since my Time Capsule is set up to use radio mode: 802.11n (b/g compatible),
how can I tell which speed/protocol my iMac is actually using for its current wifi connection?
(I don't see this info in System Profiler.)

If your mac is wireless N capable it will connect to your base station using the wireless N protocol however you wont benefit from the extra speed wireless N offers in a mixed network you have to setup and exclusive wireless N network.
To see how fast your connection is install menu meters from raging menace
http://www.ragingmenace.com/
Then in the menumeters preferences set it up to monitor your network connection. This will then show you what speed your wireless interface is connected.

Ok so here is my problem. The current position display 3 times. The rest is correct. it only display once. Any ideas on how to get rid of the 2 extra rows that is being displayed with the current position?? I only need the current position to display once with the previous position info.

You should check with your Carrier before doing this as many charge very high fees for this use without a plan, and it's pretty expensive even with a plan.

How to tell if wifi is connected

Hello! I am having a very hard time connecting to the internet via wifi on my BB curve.
Wifi is turned on and it says I am connected when I do a wifi network search. However, the wifi logo at the top right of the homwscreen is grey. When I go to manage connections it it has a check mark next to wifi and then my network name but the button on the right is yellow with a "-" (line) through it rather than a check mark?
Does this mean it is connected or isn't? I am so confused.
Sometimes I am able to browse but most of the time I simply get this message:
Unable to connect to the internet, pleae try agian later.
What am I doing wrong?

You may be aware that BB have had some Wi-Fi issues which could cause the problem, although these may be solved now.
If you are successfully connected to Wi-Fi, then the Wi-Fi symbol will be bright black and white. If its grey, it is not connected.

I just started to use the Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone.
To discover the phone and all it's abilities I consume a lot of data from the internet (chat messages, photo's, websites etc.)
My subscription with my phone provider is limiting the amount of data to 250MB. More data will result in extra costs.
At home and WiFi hotspots, I connect using WiFi.
I see on top the screen the 3G symbol as well as the WiFi symbol when connected.
But my question is: How do I know for use that when I am connected to a WiFi server, it will download data from the internet using WiFi , rather then the 3G which will have impact on my MB usage of my subscription.
Additionally: how can I see how many MB (data) I have consumed sofar..?

This is not a function from what others have told me on here.
To be honest its not a function on Android either. However on Android there are a number of apps available that record useage. Some of the better ones even turn off 3G when you get to your limit.
I emailed the developer of the one I used on Android and he said he had no intention of developing any thing for Windows :-(

How to tell if my connect is a gigabit connection?

I have a WRT600N running on Vista SP1 and I know that I have a gigabit network card. But when I have it connected to the router, my network status icon only shows the connection is 100 Mps.
Does this mean that for some reason my connection speed isn't 1000 Mps? or is this just the way it is?
If so, is there a way to tell if you're really on a gigabit connection?

Hey try resetting the router reset button in such a way that power
light is blinking on the router & then do a complete network power
cycle i.e., unplug the power cables from the modem & from the router &
then plug in the power cable to the modem first once all the lights are
solid green you could plug in the power cable to the router & check out
it will definately work!!
Open the setup page of router using 192.168.1.1 then put in the
password as admin...all you need to do is do the wireless settings such
as Radio Band Frequency to Standard 20 MHZ frequency,channel to 11.
Also,the advanced wireless settings to Beacon Interval=50,Frag
thres=2306 & Rts thres=2307 & then uncheck a Block Anonymous Internet
Requests & it will definately work!!!

Have you tried a network reset:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
recently used Bluetooth accessories
VPN and APN settings
If this fails you can try some of these troubleshooting tips:

This is not really possible, since there are any number of free utilities on the Internet that will reveal a "hidden" network in seconds. Anyone who wants to see your network will be able to do so very quickly and easily.
iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad often have difficulty connecting to a "hidden" network as well.
If you still want to do this......
Open Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon, then click Edit in the smaller window that appears
Click the Wireless tab at the top of the next page
Click the Wireless Options button near the bottom of the page
Enter a check mark in the box next to Create hidden network
Click Save
Click Update at the lower right of the window and allow a minute for the Time Capsule to restart

Hello Gentlemen, Quick question: how to share the wifi connection of my bbz10 with tethering or mobile hotspot or whatever. I am connected to a wifi netwrok with the phone and I want to share this wifi with my laptop (unfortunately I cant connect ti this network with my laptop). I do not want to use the mobile data, but if I press tethering it tries to force me to enable mobile data. cheers.

Nope...the HotSpot function works by using the carrier data network connection on the device for any other devices connected to the devices WiFi hotspot. When the hotspot is activated, the ability for the device to use WiFi for data is deactivated. There is no bridge between WiFi data for the device and other devices connected via WiFi.

How do I monitor Wifi connections to the Time Capsule (client mac address, IP, time, etc.)?

There is very little information displayed about clients in Mountain Lion.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Caspule icon
Look for Wireless Clients
Click on the ID number or Name to see more information
