How to tell how many gigs selected?

I have a 4 gig mini. But about 20 gig of music in Itunes. How can I tell how many gigs I have selected in Itunes to transfer.
Thanks,
Mark

The update option "Sync Music - Selected playlists" is useful if you are using an iPod with a smaller capacity than what you have stored in iTunes. You can tell from the playlist just how much space the songs will take up by clicking on it, the information appears at the bottom of your screen.
Open iTunes and create a playlist to update your iPod from, call it -iPod to make it the first playlist in Sources. You can make this a normal playlist and drag whatever you want to it or you can make it a random Smart playlist. If you are making a smart playlist limit it to just less than the size of your iPod (for example 3700MB for a 4G iPod Mini). Now connect your iPod and when it appears in the Source list click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists radio button. Choose the playlist you just made from the selection and click Apply:

  • I am considering the new iPhone5. How do I know how many gigs to buy?

    Is there something that can easily tell you or guide you to determine how many gigs apps or photos or videos or contacts, emails, texts etc...use?

    Buy as much capacity as you can afford. iPhone memory
    cannot be upgraded - whatever amount that is in the iPhone
    when you purchase is what you will have as long as you
    own that iPhone. Internal memory cannot be upgraded or
    increased.

  • How can I see on the new itunes how many gigs a playlist is?

    On the new Itunes I can't seem to see how many gigs a playlist is without trying to add it to my device.. it is extremely annoying and it makes it very difficult to build effective play lists.

    Either CTRL+/, or View > Show Status Bar.
    Either of those will bring back the line of information along the bottom, including duration and size.

  • How many gigs to upgrade FCP?

    How many gigs would it take to upgrade from FCP 5.1 to FCP 6?
    And what about upgrading from FCS 1 to FCS 2 (including Color)?

    When you update FCS 1 to FCS 2 the existing apps will be replaced by the newer version, either completely, or in part (only the newer, changed components will be installed in a partial replace).
    I should point out that this procedure is generally not recommended on this forum. Rather, you should clone your existing drive then erase and install Mac OS X, do all updates followed by installing FCS 2 from the new discs.
    FCS 2 does not require the presence of FCS 1 on the drive, it will simply ask you to enter the FCS 1 serial # to validate the installation.

  • How many gigs will I need for a LG G3 phone?

    I just purchased a G3 phone. I only signed up for 1/2 gig of data because I will only be using the phone for talking and occasional texting. I won't use the internet at all. (And won't be using any apps, email or anything.)  Somebody advised me that 1/2 gig will not be enough -- that I will need 2 gigs -- even if I'm not using internet. They said that data is constantly being used, every time I use the phone. Is this true?  Will I need to update to 2 gigs?  Any opinions or advice on this will be greatly appreciated.  Thank You.

    I'm confused as to why you would upgrade to a smartphone with no intention to use the Internet features. There are many wonderful apps out there that keep you informed (most newspapers, radio stations, tv stations have apps), help you keep track of your personal finances (credit cards, bank accounts, etc), navagation apps (no need for a separate gps anymore!), share files, etc.  Even fun things like Shazam, where you hear a song and you just need to know who's performing it!
    1 GB should be fine for light users. I use Chrome a lot and watch some videos, plus I am always reading the newspapers online and checking twitter, instagram, etc.  I have trouble connecting to Xfinity wifi hotspots with my G3, and I am not constantly around places that offer wifi.
    Just make sure you have the phone set to only update apps over wifi.  And restrict background data on apps as well.  That should eliminate a lot of phantom/unnecessary data usage.
    I use about 5GB a month.  People on unlimited plans who are streaming lots of music and video and transferring files can use hundreds of GBs a month.
    Have fun with your new phone!  Check out Google Play and download some apps.  You can always turn mobile data on and off from the settings menu as you like.

  • How many gigs is the 30 gb ipod actually formatted?

    i know apple says 30, buts its really like a couple gigs less.. anyone know? i have a 60 gb and its really like 5 gigs less then that. thanks

    All hard drives never have the full advertised storage space, and as a general rule it's around 7% less than stated.
    It's because hard drive manufacturers calculate hard drive space different than computers actually read it.

  • ASM how many Gigs per disk group for performance.

    We are migrating from a file system based database 1Tbyte 10.2.0.3 on IBM AIX to a database on Solaris 9 10.2.0.3 with ASM.
    Our old system functioned well by breaking up the IO into 15 file system 72.5 GB each over three SAN arrays.
    We have no experience of ASM and are wondering if we should break up the IO in a similar way for performance or just have one large disk group? There must be advantages/disadvantages one way or another. Looking for advise.
    Thanks very much in advance for any help.

    ASM performs striping automatically so you don't need to care about creating multiple disk groups for performance. But if you have different disks in terms of speed and size, then create individual groups for each disk.

    you can call your_checkbox.isSelected() to know whether it's selected for all your check boxes !
    suppose you have an jcheckbox array : JCheckBox[] myCheckBoxArray = ...;
    int counter = 0;
    for(int i=0; i<myCheckBoxArray.legth; i++){
      if(myCheckBoxArray.isSelected())
      counter++;
    }and that's all

  • How many songs can i put on my ibook?

    Hello, I just switched to mac and am using itunes on a ibook G4- how many gigs of space can you use for music? sorry if this is a stupid question.

    Hello Walt.
    Your only limit is your hard drive capacity but copied from Problems from Insufficient RAM and Free Hard Disk Space.
    As a rule of thumb: if the Available space on your Mac OS X startup disk
    b is less than the larger of 5 Gb, or ten percent of its Capacity,
    it is time to free some disk space.

  • Obvious Way to Tell How Many Files are Selected?

    I’ve been trying my best to love Lightroom, and I get close, but there’s one problem that I just can’t get past.
    Five minutes ago, I tried to export one photo, and I ended up exporting 52 photos.  This happens all the time. If I had a dime for every time I exported 500 photos instead of 1 photo, moved 500 photos instead of one photo, etc, I’d have a lot of dimes.
    Anyway, I deleted the 51 extra exports, synced the folder, got everything where I wanted it, then … exported 52 photos again.
    Sigh.
    The only way I’ve been able to avoid this is in the past is by obsessively pressing Command+D.  When I’m trying to do anything, I pound these two keys like there’s no tomorrow, but of course, I have to re-select the files I do want to perform actions on.
    I kept thinking I’d get used to it, but I’m still having problems to no end.  Unless I look very, very closely, I can’t tell if photos are selected or not, and if an entire screen full of photos are selected, they all look the same, so I really can’t tell.
    That’s the background, now my questions if I may:
    Is there any way to get a dialog box before performing actions on multiple photos?  Something that says, “this action will be performed on 1,871 photos, do you want to proceed?” or something to that effect?
    Ironically, it already does this when I want to delete something, which is great, but no such luck for any other actions.
    By any chance, is there something I can do to make the number of photos I have selected, more obvious?
    I know this is not a bug or program flaw, it’s a flaw with how my brain works with the program, but if I could figure out a way to make them work together , this application would be pretty awesome.  As it is, I spend more time undoing mistakes than I do organizing and editing photos.
    Thank you very much for any help.

    I am so pleased to read your post and realize I'm not the only one that gets tripped up by this! I've bee using LR extensively for more than two years now and even today, just now, I wanted to export ONE file, and the highlighting onscreen appeared to indicate I've selected one file, but turned out it was dozens of files. Now... when I'm simply exporting copies of files to another folder it's not a dangerous situation. BUT! It is very dangerous if one wishes to delete a file or several files and you think those are the only files you're deleting. Many, many times I have caught this in time, fortunately. To me this is one example of how the experience of software designers do not well understand how the end user will understand a program. Professional photographers are very specific with everything they do and don't want a program tripping them up continually. This obvious confusion over which files are actually "selected" needs cleared up.
    I read the responses to your post and find them dissatisfying. Please, Adobe, test your software with actual working photographers and not just Adobe engineers who may also happen to be amateur photographers.
