  • Can you tell me which iPhone/iPad mini charging adapter charges more quickly - traveling in Italy. Thanks.

Can you tell me which iPhone/iPad mini charging adapter charges more quickly?  Traveling in Italy.  Thanks.

You will need a 12 watt adaptor for the iPad Mini, so use the one that came with it. The phone can be charged from the same adaptor. Charging speed should be the same although everything in Italy runs slower.
You will need a wall outlet plug adaptor.

  • How long should it take my iPad to charge

How long should it take my iPad to charge?

What model iPad? 1,2,3,4 or mini? When you ask a question, you need to provide enough info to answer.
I assume you mean from near 0% to 100%.
Depending on the model, it takes 3 to about 8 hours.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • @Media selector in CSS: how to tell iPhone 3Gs from iPad

    Hi all,
I have a question concerning the capabilities of the @media selector.
From what I read in the documentation, @media, in AIR, supports these parameters
    - os-platform (IOS, AND, MAC, WIN)
    - application-dpi (160 = less than 200; 240=less then 280: 320: more than 280)
how does one tell if the device is iPhone 3gs or iPad?
both are IOS, both have application-dpi less than 200 (163 for iPhone 3, 132 for iPad)
it would be useful to use max-device-width, but I guess it's not supported? it's not working for me...
    thanx!

I've just fell on my face with the same problem. Apparently, there is no way to have different styles for iPhone 3GS and iPad inside the same application. @media selector does not let you do that. It wouldn't be a big problem if we could use theme swf files the same way we use them in Flash. But we can't do that either because loading executable code (which the theme swf is) won't work on iOS due to security restrictions. Please correct me if I wrong but it means that you can't have one application binary with different styles for iPhone 3GS and iPad.
What makes it worse, it is not that easy to reorganize your project to build two applications: one for iPhone 3GS, another for iPad using the same application project and different build scripts (ant). It would be possible if we could link a theme compiled as SWC library. But it doesn't seem to work if you have references to skin classes and images in your css. At least after multiple trials I couldn't make it work.
The only solution that comes to mind is to have two application projects: one for iPhone 3GS, another one for iPad. And keep everything else in libraries. I wish I could see its coming earlier so I would organize my project that way from the beginning.
It seems like a major flaw in design of the media selector. And not just because you can't support both iPhone 3GS and iPad in one application. For the same reasons you can't have different styles for iPhone 4/4S and new high resolution iPad (both have 320 dpi screens). It would be pretty easy to fix by just adding an additional tag to the media selector.
I wish I was wrong and there is a solution for this problem already. Please share your experience if you had the same issue.

  • How to check in a dead ipad in apple configurator

Im using apple configurator to supervise a fleet of Ipads, one has unfortunately died and I cannot seem to work out how I can check in the failed ipad so I can check out a replacement to the end usetr who was assigned the failed ipad.

didn't i say? i use the svnkit, formerly known as
    javasvn.Nope. You never said
java doesn't support that.Whatever that means
afaik, svnkit doesn't have a forum..But it does have a Wiki, and some documentation. Have you tried there? I remember JavaSVN being poorly documented, but equally, hardly anyone has actually used it, so you're unlikely to get help here

  • How can my iPod be dead?

    Hi!
I just bought a 60g Black iPod video, I took it out of the box, used it for about 3 hours then battery needed to be charged, so I plugged it up in my computer before going to sleep. Three hours after I plugged it, I checked on the screen and the battery was still charging (nothing abnormal at this point). I then decided to go to bed and leave the thing charging.
When I woke up, I checked my iPod and realised the screen was black. So I thought: Okay, it must be recharged.
I then wanted to load new songs in the computer and was surprised to see that the thing refused to turn on.
I check the "Hold" button, but everything was correct.
I read this site's FAQ, when it says that you must leave it layed down on a flat surface for about 24 hours. That' what I did, but nothing happened.
    Anyone experienced the same problem?
Could this be because I don't have a USB2 port?
I'm now thinking of buying a Power adapter, but I dont want to pay $35 without being sure that this could fix my problem.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you for your reply,
But I already did read the whole thing before posting in here (didn't want to waste everyone's time with a question that could be answered by reading the FAQ)
My concern is, How can my iPod be dead after being charged for several hours? Nothing appears on the screen, that thing is totally dead. Oh, and did I mention that It is BRAND NEW??
This is the first time that I'm buying an Apple product and this may also be the last time.
    Anyone experienced that problem before?
    Thank you for your time,

  • How to tell if your iPad is equipped for verizon or at&t?

I recently recieved an iPad from the company I work for as a bonus, and I came across this on the apple website when researching how to add 3G:
    Choose your iPad by carrier.
If you decide on an iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G, be sure to select the model that corresponds with the carrier you’d like to use for 3G service. The iPad model you purchase is specially configured to work with either AT&T or Verizon — not both. So while you don’t have to activate 3G service right away, you should choose your iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G according to the carrier you prefer.
When you decide to activate 3G data service, you can choose the amount of data per month you want to buy — with no long-term contract. So if you have a business trip or vacation approaching, just sign up for the month you’ll be traveling and cancel when you get back.
I carry Verizon, so how do I tell which carrier my iPad is made to work with, and if it is made for at&t, can I trade it in for a verizon one at the apple store?

The AT&T version has a SIM card slot on the left side, just below the top. The Verizon model does not. As to whether yours can be exchanged, that depends on where and when it was purchased. For what it's worth, you can get AT&T service on your iPad even if you have Verizon service on your cell phone (I do). Or, if it is an AT&T iPad and can't be exchanged, you can always use the personal hotspot feature on your cell phone if it has that option or purchase a MiFi from Verizon which will create a personal hot spot. The advantage to using the MiFi device is that it works on Verizon's 4G LTE network and is faster than the 3G service built into the iPad.
