How to test if a decimal is even or odd in labview

i made a VI that tests for even and odd integers using the quotient/remainder function and the Select function but when i test a decimal it does not work properly.
i have my VI testing to see if the input diveded by 2 gives you a remainder equal to 0, and if it does then it is even and the VI displays a messege saying "Even", but when i put in a decimal ( for example 7.2) the remainder is spitting out 1.2 which is not equal to 0 making my VI not work properly, if anybody can help me with this i would greatly appreciate it and if you could attached a photo that would help me understand what my mistake is, Thanks i have attached my VI for you to look at

As has been already said, odd/even is only defined for integers, so you need to tell us what you expect for e.g. 7.2.
Do you want to know if the last decimal digit is even or odd?
Do you want to know if the nearest integer is even or odd?
While you are at it, you might also think a bit more about your program design:
What is the purpose of your "select" primitive? What do you think would be different if you just leave it out completely?
Why do you test for "equal zero" and "not equal zero"? One is just the inversion of the other and knowing one also determines the other automatically.
Why do you use two dialog boxes? Do one comparison and use "select" to switch between the two messages. Only one express dialog needed.
Don't mix blue and orange. Select the correct representation for your diagram constants.
There is a primitive for "equal zero"
Never use equal and not equal comparison with orange numeric data (DBL). You might not get expected results.

  • How to Test Mail's Trainable Filter?

    In the Apple Support Discussions topic No Junk mailbox in Training mode? a question arose regarding how to test if the trainable filter (the filter that evaluates the "Message is Junk Mail" condition) is evaluated independently of the other conditional tests of the Junk Filter rule -- IOW, if some other test condition in the Junk Filter rule, like sender is not in the address book, evaluates to false, does the "Message is Junk Mail" test which follows it in the rule's list of conditions ever get evaluated?
    A proposed test for this involved resending to yourself a message that Mail had previously marked as junk using the "Message > Send Again" function of Mail. It has been pointed out to me that this probably isn't a valid test because "Message > Send Again" doesn't send the original message in unaltered form (there are substantial changes in the header info regarding sender, path, etc.) & thus the filter may not consider the resent message as junk, even if it were to evaluate it.
    So, for testing purposes, does anybody have a suggestion about how to resend (or fake resending) a received message to myself without altering its header info?

    What matters is whether the Message is Junk
    Mail condition would still evaluate to true
    regardless.
    That depends on what you are trying to determine & if the test produces decisive results.
    For instance, consider tests with the standard Junk Filter automatic settings & no other rule involving "Message is Junk Mail" in the list. A test is performed in an attempt to determine if the filter's conditional tests are performed in the indicated order only until one evaluates to false.
    "Send Again" should not cause the "Message is Junk Mail" test to be evaluated at all, since in this case the sender is oneself & the Junk Filter should exit as soon as the 'sender not in Address Book' test is evaluated.
    Yet, when I try this with a message (correctly) marked as junk when originally received, the resent version is still marked as junk, & this happens not just on my on Mac but on the few others I have checked as well. I have tested with only a limited number of junk messages because on the other Macs the owners do not keep them for long & on my own I do not get that many (AOL is my primary account & has excellent spam filtering), so I would love to know if readers of this topic see similar results.
    BTW, I should mention here what might be a potential hazard of using "Redirect" for testing with "real" spam: As I hope everybody knows by now, it is a bad idea to enable automatic loading of remote html images because doing so can alert spammers one's email address is valid. In one case, when I tried the "Redirect" method on my own Mac, AOL refused to accept the redirected message, possibly because of AOL's spam filters. At that point, Mail displayed the message, asking if I wanted to try sending it from another account, edit it, or what. Even though I have the option disabled, Mail loaded the original's remote html images along with its other content. I don't know if that is a design feature of Mail, a problem with just my Mac, particular to AOL, or what, but I want readers to be aware of it, just in case.
    Anyway, for this reason I have since confined myself to testing with "Send Again," which seems safe in all cases, & mostly to testing only on my on Mac, just in case it is not.
    Back to the "so what" aspects of this topic: It may be that the "Message is Junk Mail" test is sometimes treated differently from the other conditional tests in the Junk Filter in that it may be evaluated first or even if other tests before it evaluate to false. This makes some sense as a design feature in that even if the Junk Filter's automatic mode action isn't performed, it gives users more training opportunities. It may be a bug. It may just be something particular to my Mac. It may be something else, perhaps having to do with trusting junk headers, or something more subtle as yet unconsidered.
    In any event, the point is holding all variables save one constant in any single "black box" test of a multi-variable system is a necessity for definitive results because variables may be interdependent. Because of this, the ability to resend to oneself the same message in unaltered form would be useful for a variety of tests, so I would still like to know if anyone has any ideas about how to do this.

    Dear all,
    I am configuring the MDSD scenario .. and i want to insure that my customization is correct
    How to test the connection between DSD Backend and DSD connector ??

    Hi Viren,
    The problem is:
    We have a new BW system. The basis people asked me to check the connection between this BW system and the R/3. There is only one client for now(100). I have logged into 100 and tried executing RSA1 to check the connection, but it gave a message box saying "You can only work in Client 000". Then I have treid logging into 000(just to make sure) and tried executing RSA1. Even here I got a message saying "The SAP BW system must not be operated in client 000". Now, I am not sure of what is wrong in clien 100. I am not sure if I have to do some settings before I access RSA1 or any other BW transaction. Could you please help me in this.
    Also, I just checked the RFC destinations in BW. There is a destination created for our R/3 and I have noticed that they have given a remote UserID and password for remote login. I tried to check the Remote UserID in SU01 but there is no userID with that name. Could this be a problem?
    Thanks,
    RPK.

    iCal Server email invitations - how to test and get this feature working
    Thanks Apple for introducing this nice little feature into iCal but then completely neglecting to write any sort of useful manual that can explain what to do when it doesn't work after you set it up for the first time.
    At long, long last we have finally got there after about 6 months of fiddling on and off, so I thought I had better post up the process since many have similar issues and it is hard to ascertain what is going on.
    Using an external email server was just a waste of time and it still wouldn't handle the replies properly even though it was supposed to handle '+addressing'. In the end I set up a special gmail account for the iCal server and finally got it working. I list here the process of configuring and testing the system to check that each little stage is working.
    Set up a Gmail account in Apple Mail to access and test in the usual way for any email account (e.g. [email protected].);
    Set the iCal server email to access the same email using the following settings:
    IMAP
    SMTP
    [email protected]
    smtp.gmail.com
    Port: 993 [x] Use SSL
    Port: 587 [x] Use SSL
    User & Pwd
    Login
    User & Pwd
    To test the settings:
    send out a test email from Apple Mail to a non-server email address that you can access to check it has been received;
    send out a test email from your non-server email account to [email protected] and check that it is received;
    this tells you that the GMail account is setup correctly and working
    Testing iCal:
    I noted that iCal was deleting any emails that arrive in the inBox in Apple Mail as soon as they arrived (this is to be expected);
    test that the invites are being sent from iCal by setting an event in iCal and inviting your non-server address (you may not see any sign of this in Apple Mail but you should catch it in the iCal server log and possibly in the Gmail sent mail box);
    check that the invite is received at your non-server account and Accept it in iCal on another machine - the reply is automatically sent back;
    the replies appear in Apple Mail but are quickly deleted by iCal. But their record for you to see is left in Gmail under 'All Mail';
    Accepted invites appear as a notification button on the top left hand bar on iCal where you click to acknowledge them and then the attendee is shown as a green circled tick instead of a grey circled ?.
    this shows that iCal invitations are working correctly. Whenever an event is updated, all invitees should be updated by email automatically.
    I hope this helps anyone - I could certainly have done with something similar when I started with looking at this.

    The Error and Access logfile in the Server app under iCal server are very useful in determining any errors. I got lots of imip errors when I didn't quite have the settings right. The port is critical and it won't tell you this is the problem if it fails.

  • How to test Https enabled in SR?

    HI Gems,
       I have soap sender scenario and published my service in SR as well. When i test my service from SR, i see both(Http and
    Https) bindings have Http it self but in the bottom at target url i can see Http for Http and Https for Https.
    Can you explain how to test my service in Https and what point i have to check in SR whether my service works for Https or not?
    Please advice...
    Thanks
    Prabhakar

    I've got the target address from the Service registry and executed in Soap UI and was success in testing.
    Now i wonder, in other system Https port is not configured and system accepted with the same port as i tested in another.
    I even checked in SMICM, No Https port is configured. Can any one help me out in this....

  • How to test File Adapter from EM Console

    Hi All,
    I have one issue with File Adapter where I am trying to implement a simple BPEL process. Below are the steps;
    1. I have created an empty BPEL process and then add a read file adapter to the left side which will read from a file aa.txt which is present in D:\work folder. File is having data like XXXX,YYYY,ZZZZ. (I have used Native builder for schema generation)
    2. Then I have added Write file adapter on the right side which will write to an other file bb.txt.
    Then I have rebuild and deploy this on weblogic SOA server but on the EM console I am not able to test it as Test button is disabled. Then how to test this scenario? Also I tried testing by placing a new file aa1.txt in the same directory with some content. Logically it should be picked up and then write it to the bb.txt but it is not happening.
    Can anyone please help me in this as how to troubleshoot it.
    Thanks
    RJ

    Thanks for the reply.
    So if i understood correctly it means that we cannot test it using EM console as we have read adapter on the left side because of which we have not exposed it as SOAP service. When we put any file in the D:\XXX then automatically read adapter will pick that up and create one instance in the EM console and then write adapter will write it into the destination file?
    But in our case no instance is getting created in the EM console even when I am copying a file to the directory. Below is the read_file.jca
    <adapter-config name="Read" adapter="File Adapter" wsdlLocation="Read.wsdl" xmlns="http://platform.integration.oracle/blocks/adapter/fw/metadata">
    <connection-factory location="eis/FileAdapter" UIincludeWildcard="rj*.txt"/>
    <endpoint-activation portType="Read_ptt" operation="Read">
    <activation-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.file.inbound.FileActivationSpec">
    <property name="DeleteFile" value="false"/>
    <property name="MinimumAge" value="0"/>
    <property name="PhysicalDirectory" value="D:\mywork"/>
    <property name="Recursive" value="true"/>
    <property name="PollingFrequency" value="60"/>
    <property name="IncludeFiles" value="rj.*\.txt"/>
    <property name="UseHeaders" value="false"/>
    </activation-spec>
    </endpoint-activation>
    </adapter-config>
    Please help as why it is not getting picked up?
    Regards

  • How to Test AIR 1.5

    Sorry if this seems slightly off center, but I blame Adobe, not myself. Trying to determine the true status and positioning of AIR amongst the various Flex forums and projects for an outsider is practically impossible. So, I will be brief. In September Mr. Chambers sent opened the flow by telling us that we could find FP10 integrated with Flex SDK in something you call 1.5 or Cosmo, or both. He was properly circumspect, so I didn't rush into it -- there was not even an ADL binary when I checked. Now it is November, the Trunk is at 4005, and ostensibly, everything we need to start trying to take advantage of FP support of 3D operations is out there. But where? Where do we get a version of AIR 1.5 that can be installed on a target desktop, so that we can try to run the ADT test cycle?
    Call it Gumbo, call it Flex4, call it whatever, but can someone tell us how to start testing it for AIR application deployment?
    Thank you.

My user <br />    cares.<BR><BR>My user will get frequent updates to an ever-growing body of <br />    software called an application, and he will get them over those same slow <br />    bandwidth network links that the Flex user sees.  What's "good for the <br />    goose is good for the gander".  There is simply no reason not to <br />    architect the library of code that we use to cobble together the application <br />    and use the same intelligent caching mechanism in both environments.  I <br />    looked for a month for a white paper or discussion of how to 'modularize' an <br />    AIR app but all that you wanted to publish were white papers on how to <br />    'modularize' a Flex app.<BR><BR>I'm sure that you guys have a bunch of <br />    object diagrams and product architecture blueprints that you have memorized <br />    -- but that is not what we see 'outside the black box'.  What we see is <br />    a confusing distinction between the AIR efforts and the Flex efforts <br />    although the code base and efforts are substantially the same.  And if <br />    that is true from an internals point of view, put on your end-user hat and <br />    look at how we view a AIR/Flex app -- it is all one.<BR><BR>So, I develop <br />    the worlds greatest Juke Box and get it all going in Flex, then I move that <br />    into one Tab on one Screen in the AIR 'shell'.  Then some guys go off <br />    and mostly use AIR-unique code to add a Tab that allows Drag and Drop <br />    creation of Slide Shows accompanied by voice overs, and another set of my <br />    guys go off to add the 'Sudoku' module in just plain old Flex.  At some <br />    point in time in some ant task, we've got 10MB of code and X MBs of that is <br />    in one of our present [or future] swz files.  Where is the distinction <br />    that says I should just ask my users to download the whole shooting match, <br />    when what he really wants to do is just download whatever updated or new <br />    application modules [including any upgrades to your frameworks] when <br />    required.<BR><BR>So, it took some time, but today, my application is <br />    compiled with dynamic linking to the framework.swz, and when the user <br />    launches his AIR application on the desktop, the Flash Player, embedded in <br />    the AIR environment, is smart enough to find that it already has the <br />    necessary framework code and does not need to go back to the network to get <br />    it refreshed.  Actually, since I could never figure out how to use <br />    Module and ModuleManager, the method for solving the framework caching <br />    problem ended up just being an extension of what I developed for version <br />    management 'with continuous update' of my own swf files.  So, when the <br />    AIR shell starts up, it needs to test to see whether there is any updating <br />    to be done, or whether it already has locally available the 'latest and <br />    greatest' and that works the same for MyCute3DWizBang.swf or <br />    framework_3.1.0.2710.swz or framework_4.0.0.3988.swf.<BR><BR>If you take the <br />    point of view that a 'desktop application' doesn't need to do anything <br />    special to solve the problem of 'large file downloads', you end up thinking <br />    that there is no reason for an AIR application to take advantage of the <br />    frameworked cache when, in fact, almost all of that code is needed whether <br />    the execution thread starts in a 'WindowApplication' or just a plain old <br />    'Application'.  At least thats the cockamaymee point of view that I <br />    came to in the absence of any 'best practice' discussion of these key topics <br />    --  so far, it seems to be working pretty well, but as you can guess, <br />    testing across a network to a remote host that may or may not have the right <br />    version of AIR, or the right version of framework, or the right version of <br />    MyCute3DWizBang  is really more important than just testing against <br />    ADL. <BR><BR><BR>----- Original Message ----- From: "Matt Chotin" &lt;<A <br />    href="mailto:[email protected]" <br />    target=_blank>[email protected]</A>&gt;<BR>To: &lt;<A <br />    href="mailto:[email protected]" <br />    target=_blank>[email protected]</A>&gt;<BR>Sent: Monday, November <br />    03, 2008 8:39 PM<BR>Subject: Re: How to Test AIR 1.5<BR><BR><BR><br />    <BLOCKQUOTE class=gmail_quote <br />    style="PADDING-LEFT: 1ex; I'm using cactus and strutstestcase to test my struts classes (actions and forms)
    I'm having a problem with testing DispatchAction.
    I know how to test simple Action but I don't know what strategy i should apply to test DispatchAction classes.
    I spent hours googling and i did'nt found any interesting answer.
    Any idea or web page where i get help?

    My guess is, most real practice is to not set the values.
    The issue is, such policing can very easily impede legitimate traffic, and unless you have a good analysis, you might not be able to determine the high water mark.  Even if you have a good benchmark, the high water mark might legitimately differ tomorrow.
    It's true, you can probably police some legitimate traffic without a too adverse effect, but that too requires careful analysis.  I.e. exactly where is the "too much" division?
    Ideally, and in theory, you set such policers to avoid complete meltdown of your network, but that too is difficult to predetermine.
    What you could try is searching the Internet for various opinions of how these values should be configured.

  • How to test VOFM routine for output cntrol-issue o/p when certain conds met

    Hai,
    I have created a vofm routine 903 for  the output type 'ZSH1'.This is for sales order output.
    The 903 routine changes the sy-subrc value to non zero if certain conditions met.
    My doubt is how to test this vofm routine? where can we check the status of the output processed?
    This output is to trigger a smartform.
    In my case the output smart form got displayed when I click on print preview even if the condtions met (or) dont met.
    Is this the correct way of testing?
    Regards,
    Bhaskar

    Hai All,
    Thanks for your replies.
    here my question is,
    how to test the VOFM (not manual )& where we can check the status of output issued or not issued?
    see the step 1.
    Step1: goto->va02->from the menu select 'issue output'->select the codition type in the displayed popup->click OK.
    after this where can I check the status of the output issued?
    or is the way I described in Step 1 is correct or not ?
    other way Step 2:
    goto VA02->enter order number->goto overview page->from Extras->output->header->edit
    in this page maintain the output type & click Save.
    after Save , is this the time to check whether the output issued or not? if yes where to check the status?
    or again is this the right way to test the VOFM.
    Regards,
    Bhaskar

    I have songs on my iPhone 6 that I can't remove and when I plug into iTunes and go to "Summary" and "On This Device" the songs don't show up but they are on my phone. How do I remove them? Not even sure how they got on actually since I have a iTouch and keep all my music there. HELP!!

    Have you tried deleting the songs from Settings?
    Settings -> General -> Usage -> Manage Storage (not the iCloud link!) -> Music and then click Edit to enable you to be able to delete.

    Hi,
    I have created a function. Now i need to test that whether it is returning the correct values or not.
    For that, i have written anothe pl sql script and trying to call this function. Im passing all the IN parameters in that function. I assume here that OUT parameters will provide me the result. Im trying to display the OUT parameter one by one to see my result.

    Don't look at the function, it might have errors but my primary concern is how to test this function. Once I start doing its testing then only i can understand any bugs(if any).
    My pl sql is not so good. Im still learning. I don't understand IN and OUT parameters are.
    I just know that IN parameters r those whick we pass in to the function wen we call it and OUT parameters are those through which we get the result.
    Thanks in advance

    If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    For my part you are welcome, sdowers.
    Unfortunately, the uncertainty arising from the rounding has been up several times here in this forum.
    I just came to remember a warning that needs to be given:
    The rounding of the representation of a numerical value may be harmless in itself, but if you use it for any operation that changes the value, such as multiplication or whatever, things will go wrong because the operation will be made on the basis of the rounded value instead of the true value. So, as in your first case in post #2, 39.625 rounded to 39.63 will become 79.26 instead of 79.25.
