How to text from my ipad wtihout a sim card

6 months ago, my iPad started to allow me to text and would sync up to my iphone text messages. This was the first time this feature was possible, as long as I was in Wifi. However about 1 month ago it stopped, and I have no idea what I clicked on/agreed to to prevent this. My iPad does not have a SIM card. Any help greatly received. Thanks

The Feature is called Continuity. It was made avaialble with the iOs 8 update.
Make sure you are on the same Wifi network with both devices. Your are logged in with the same Apple ID, and Have enabled Text MEssage Forwarding on your iPhone for your iPad.
To use Continuity for SMS and MMS with your iPhone and your Mac, iPad or iPod touch
Your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch need to use iOS 8.1, and your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
Sign in to iMessage on your iPhone, your other iOS devices, and your Mac using the same Apple ID.
On your iPhone:
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You Can Be Reached By, and add a check to both your phone number and email address.
Go to Messages > Text Message Forwarding, and enable the device(s) you would like to forward messages to.
Your Mac, iPad, or iPod touch will display a code. Enter this code on your iPhone to verify the SMS feature.

When I send a text from my iPad, it shows that it comes from my email address.  If I then text that same someone from my iPhone it still shows as if its coming from my iPad.  How do I stop this?

On your iPhone, go to Settings -> Messages -> Receive At -> Caller ID and make sure the phone number is selected - this will cause new messages sent from your iPhone to appear to come from your iPhone phone number.
(I actually prefer to have my email selected, so that when I message someone from my iPhone and they reply, it goes to both my iPhone and iPad)
Also, when you send a message from your iPhone, make sure you're not replying within an existing conversation (that was created on your iPad and linked to your email). Just start a new conversation (even if it's to the same person) by going to the Messages app, going back to "Messages" (top left corner) if you're already looking at a conversation, and then clicking the Compose icon in the top right.

If you mean from the iTV player app, that's because iTV block AirPlay from working with their app.

how to recover from locked ipad after wrong passwored trile

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
You may have to force iPad into Recovery Mode

Can I send a text from my ipad to a droid?

IF YOU ONLY HAVE WIFI: you can download a texting app (which gives you your own #) and then YES, you can text anyone's cell phone or device as long as they have a phone # as well.
IF YOU HAVE 3G (INTERNET EVERYWHERE) OR A TEXTING PLAN: YES you can, if you have 3G, then follow the instructions for wifi
if you have 3g, then you should be able to enter the messaging application on your iPad and send a message to anyone with a valid phone #!
I hope I was able to help you converse with whoever you are trying to converse with...

  • I have an MFC J410W Brother's printer, and I need instructions on how to print from my IPAD 4.

I need to know how to print from my IPAD 4 on my MFC J410W Brother's printer.

Printing from an iPad or iPhone
To print directly from an iPad you need an AirPrint - enabled printer on the same wireless network as the iPad. All AirPrint printers are wireless but not all wireless printers are AirPrint-enabled. Your Brother MFC-J410W is not an AirPrint printer.
If you do not have an AirPrint printer, a number of workarounds exist that enable the use of any printer you normally use, even older ones that may predate AirPrint by decades. Search for the following products:
    handyPrint (Mac only, donation-supported)
Printopia (Mac only, $19.95 with free trial)
These are utilities you install on the Mac you normally use for printing, enabling it to act as an AirPrint print server. The Mac must be "on" but may be asleep for them to work. The iPad needs nothing else, no iOS apps need to be installed and no configuration is necessary. If your computer can print, so can the iPad, using one of these utilities on your Mac.
Equivalent utilities may exist for PCs but I have no experience with them - I suggest https://www.collobos.com
You can also buy this standalone hardware print server, bypassing the need for a computer altogether:
    http://www.lantronix.com/it-management/xprintserver/xprintserver.html
Otherwise you will need to buy an AirPrint printer or multifunction device.
    The following are my recommendations
    AirPrint compatible Brother laser devices
    and
    AirPrint compatible Brother inkjet devices
Read the reviews and choose wisely.

Hello any one knows why I can't text from my iPad I can only text my boyfriend but not others

2nd, both devices must be connected to the same apple ID, and on the same wifi network

I'm having trouble texting from my IPAD 2. Most of the time it looks like its searching or I get a red exclamation point.
I was only able to send 2 texts. Help!

iPads cant send regular texts - only through iMessage meaning that the other device will need to have iMessage too.
If you can't send a text that means the other person does not have iMessage and iMessage is only installed on iOS devices or OSX Lion

  • How can i move pictures from my ipad to a SD card?

I have the adapter for the sd card and i can load on to the ipad. But i would like to load from the ipad to the SD card with out having to load the photos on to my computer. Is this possible?

No, sorry, the transfer is one way, from the card to the iPad. The iPad can't save back out to the card. You'll need to transfer the photos to a computer, get if necessary an SD adapter for the computer, and load them from there.
    Regards.
