You can't move the Yahoo Toolbar from IE to Firefox, they are totally different "behind the scenes". However you can install it, [http://us.toolbar.yahoo.com/ http://us.toolbar.yahoo.com/] and I believe if you log in with your Yahoo account it will sync your data.

Try going to the Oracle site - they did have a page showing how to remove Java 7 using the terminal program.
I followed their instructions and it didn't work for me, but you may have better skills and luck than I.

i tried to install j2se and it went wrong... now i can't re install or uninstall, because the installshield says that i need to remove previous program' but doesn't removes it.

Delete the directory c:\<jdk directory>. Then, to remove registry entries, select Run from the start menu. Type in regedit and press enter. Search for JavaSoft. Delete every directory with that name.

[SOLVED]How to totally remove configuration files that pacman uses?

Playing with Arch linux with a view to ditching windows completely, but came across one very small issue. One where I have tried to find the answer on the wiki and using the forum search
Anyway, I installed firefox using pacman, no problems. Then I discovered Yaught (can never spell it right) and found a proper branded firefox package on there.
I run:
sudo pacman -R firefox
and it is rightly removed. The issue is it still seems to keep the installation files on the system.
How do I completely remove all the installation files?

Dont need a -y to clean your cache. Also -Scc will wipe the whole thing if you dont want them taking room.
Some thoughts on making use of the cache...
'-Sc' keeps the currently installed pkges and cleans only uninstalled/old pkges from cache, its a good practise to do it everytime *before* you upgrade. Doing that ensures youll always be able to downgrade to a working set of pkges if theres something wrong with an upgrade.

I recently installed Java 8 in order to download a specific file. I no longer need Java and wish to remove it. I have followed some instructions on the Java website which told me to Trash the Java Applet Plugin - which I've done (even though it wasn't in the folder they said it would be in). However, I still have a Java Preference Pane showing in Preferences which I can't delete. When I right-click to remove, it asks for the Admin password and then returns a dialogue saying the item couldn't be deleted because an error occurred.
Can anyone help with this one please? I have found other suggestions which advise to remove a Java folder from the /Library/PreferencePanes/ folder but my PreferencePanes folder is empty.

I've deleted both the plugin file and the plist file and rebooted. But I still can't remove the Preference icon in the System Preferences.

How Do I RemovE Java Runtime Environment?

I have just updated software on my iMac. The software update included an update to Java.
Since updating, I am unable to open Limewire P2P programme. I have reinstalled Limewire several times but still not working.
Tech support at Limewire have advised me to uninstall Java Runtime Environment and reinstall.
Can anyone advise how to do this please?

The newest version of Limewire, version 5, will only run on a Core 2 Duo, with Java SE 6 for Mac installed. Java SE 6 is 64 bit, hence the need for a C2D. Java SE 6 is not activated by default when it is installed.
It can be activated with the Java Preferences app in Apps/Utlities, in the General pane. Drag Java SE 6 to the top of the 2 lists to make it active. I had to restart and then install Limewire 5 before I could get it to work.

Starting with the plist is a good start but beware before you "remove the iCal folder from Application Support" as some info is not retained, specifically Calendar groups, Colors, and sometimes recent changes. There are less drastic things to try first.
Which is why I recommended the poster move the items to the Desktop. Once this is done, the issue can be isolated, and pared down to the one corrupt item in question

What anti-virus and firewall are you using? Some of them will lock your homepage, and some remember it long enough so that if you disable them, they will change it back once you reboot!

I have deployed my Java applications (both JWS and Applet) via JNLP with allow-offline option enabled and without installer-desc option specified.
My questions are:
1. An entry is added to the Add and Remove Programs list after launching the application via JNLP. Is it due to the specification of JNLP or JWS? Is there anyway to prevent this behavior?
2. I removed my application by clearing the cache via Java Control Panel but the entry for the application is still listed in Add and Remove Programs. How can I remove the entry in the Add and Remove Programs?
I have tried following methods but neither works:
1.Go to Add and Remove Programs, and click [remove] button to the right of my application.
*Warning message like 'Application cannot be uninstalled completely' is thrown.
