    Hi,
    So, I was supposed to guess that you are using SAP R/3 4.0b ?
    Please, think about the needed information that you need to provide with your questions...
    Sorry, but I don't have anymore access to such an old release of R/3 and don't remember where you get the info.

  • How to trace users across different Application Servers?

    Hi,
    We trace users using ST01. But how do we trace users logged in to different application servers? Please help.

    Hi Ahmed,
    SM51 or AL08 shows in which Application server the user is logged in. But ST01 does not allow us to select or to specify the application server while tracing a user. Can you be a little more vivid. How do you specify the application server in ST01?

  • How to trace CKPT process?

    hi all
    Is there any way to trace or dump CKPT process so that I can see how it works internally?
    Thanks for your time.

    You can enable event 10046 level 12 for any process including background processes.
    set ospid <pid of the CKPT process>
    oradebug event 10046 trace name context forever, level 12
    should work in any version, even in your unknown version of Oracle.
    To disable it, replace forever, level 12 by off.

    If you want to trace SQL statements, you can use SQL trace and TKPROF: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14211/sqltrace.htm#i4170

  • How to trace a USER in oracle?

    Hi Sir,
    I have a rquirement that I need to Trace a session created through the Application. The only data I have is that I know the application will connect to a Database schema and nothing else. How is it possilbe that I can create a trace file for it.
    Also is it possilble, that i can trace complete user. how to find all the trace as it create number of process inturn number of trace, how do I find it and combine. I read the documentation but can't understand it clearly?
    Any help will be great.

    Aman, thanks for replying. This is the problem, they have not implemented dbms_application_info.
    That is the reason I want to know how to trace user(all session of a schema) and combine all the session generated trace(something like trcsess) and then generate tkprof. I am on Oracle 10g.Well, first off, users connect to databases, they don't connect to schemas. And as a follow on, users have sessions, schemas don't.
    That said, you might investigate a logon trigger that initiates a 1046 trace. Something like this:
    -- create a logon trigger for capturing extended trace data
    -- NOTE: must be run as SYS
    -- NOTE: Be sure to change both occurances of the target username
    -- ('user = xxx' and 'TRACEFILE_IDENTIFIER=') to the
    -- correct value for the session you want to trace.
    create or replace trigger logon_trigger
    after logon on database
    begin
    if (user = 'SCOTT' ) then
    execute immediate 'ALTER SESSION SET TRACEFILE_IDENTIFIER=''SCOTT_APP''';
    execute immediate 'alter session set timed_statistics=true';
    execute immediate 'ALTER SESSION SET EVENTS ''10046 TRACE NAME CONTEXT FOREVER, LEVEL 12''';
    end if;
    exception
    when others then
    null;
    end;
    end;
    Of course, you can play around with the 'if' condition, and delete or disable the trigger when it is no longer needed. The resulting trace file can be run through tkprof.

  • How to trace the changes made by other user in portal

    Hi All,
    Actually i have a requirement like, some body has done some changes in Development server how to trace those chnages in portals or Visual Admin (who is the user and what are all the objects that got changed) .
    Actually our development system , Quality and Production systems are working fine till yesterday but when we logon to the dev, qua, prd systems today there are some changes and some of the things are not working client was asking us whether we have done some canges if not who has done the changes.
    Is there any place where all these changes can be recorded (likes who is the user and changes ....) or traced like log files or any thing else
    Can any one help me out in this regard.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramesh.

    Hi ,
    As you told some changes identified. so navigate to corresponnding portal obejcts and find modified and last changed by similar properties in the property editor object.
    portal activity reports gives how many users visted specific pcd object but not who visited. You can use pcd filter to compare properties.

    Perhaps you should work your original forum post:
    Oracle 11g installation fail on Solaris 11 64bit - ORA-00443
    through to a resolution before you complicate things that likely don't apply.
    You make an assumption in that other post about exceeding various maximums. That may be true or it may not be true. Since the installation of a database program seems to be your actual expectation, go work that forum thread instead.

    You must be using shared server.
    You can verify this by referring to the SERVER column of v$session.
    In shared server several servers will execute your code, so that's why you don't find a trace file.
    The method described in this article should work in your case also:

  • How to catch rollback in Disable user process task in Xellerat User Process

    hi ...
    I want to send an email to manager group of the user, once the user is disabled from the OIM (when end date is reached). I created an adapter and attached it to the ‘Changed User Disabled’ process task in the ‘xellerate user provisioning’ process and add a new row in the “Lookup.USR_PROCESS_TRIGGERS” Lookup definition. (code key: USR_DISABLED and Decode: Change User Disabled ). This adapter executes only when the user status is equal to “disabled”.
    This works correctly when the OIM user disabling process execute without any errors. But sometimes while disabling the user it gives an error (“resource is not configured properly”) and rolls back everything and make the user active. But at the same time my adapter runs and sends the mail informing user is disabled but yet user is active.
    My problem is how can I find or catch rolls back transaction in the “Disable User” process task (which is in “Xellerate User” process”) ??? If I can get to know that a roll back is occurred then I can send a mail to OIM administrator, informing that user disable process is failed.
    Can someone please help me to find this..
    Thanks in advance :)
    Regards,
    i.k.

    Hi Rajiv,
    Error occurs while disabling the user due to resource configuration problems. ( error message is : DOBJ.RESOURCE_NOTCONFIGURED_PROPERLY -- One or more provisioned resource is not configured properly) In this case i know the problem and how to solve it. But what I want to know is in any case if disable process get fail and if things get roll back again, then how can I track that situation and send a mail to OIM Admin(informing the failure) instead of sending a mail to user managers saying that user account has been disabled.
    I think now my problem is clear…. Can u please help me to find this.
    Regards,
    i.k.

  • How to trace which user shutdown oracle database in unix OS?

    our organization is having 10 DBA with sysdba priviladge. We are using UNIX operating system. At morning say for example if some one (SYSDBA user) shutdown the oracle database how other sysdba user trace the user who shutdown the database? the information i need is terminal from where oracle got shutdown and the username? Please help...

    Hello,
    You are right Sybrand, SYSDBA connections are always audited.
    My answer was about enabling auditing to any connections, which may give informations about who access to the Database in general. And, this is true, it was not the scope of the OP question.
    However, so as to enlarge audit of SYS/SYSDBA/SYSOPER operations, setting the parameter audit_sys_operations=TRUE may be interesting:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/network.112/e16543/auditing.htm#DBSEG0611
    To the OP:
    Where the audit tracefile get genareted for sys user?You may execute this:
    show parameter audit_file_destThank again Sybrand for correcting me.
    Best regards,
    Jean-Valentin

  • Trace a mapped_file in kernel dump back to a user/process

    I am troubleshooting a paged pool consumption issue (MmSt and other tags related to ntfs.sys being top consumers) on a Windows2003 R2 SP2. I see from a kernel dump taken when server was unresponsive, using !memusage, around 80000 files listed as mapped_file
    s, I presume these open files are causing this large pool allocations. In fact all those are old log files and should not be touched by any process for any purpose. Now we are not sure which user or process is opening these files, apart from some guess work
    like AV, Backup, AppReports..etc but no conclusive evidence so far.
    I would like to know if there is a way trace a mapped_file entry back to a user/process who opened those files from the kernel dump that I have?
    Any help would be very much appreaciated, thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I don't think
    there is a way trace a mapped_file entry back to a user/process who opened those files from the kernel dump. If you want to perform debugging using kernel dump, please contact
