How to track an erased iphone?
Hi
I bought a new iphone and was going to give my old iphone 4s to my cousin.So,I erased the old phone and mailed it.Unfortunately,my fedex mail was stolen right from the front door.Is there any way to track the phone? I understand that iphone being erased, is clean with no apple id tagged to it.However shouldn't it be possible for apple to track it when the phone is up on the internet?Evey phone has a unique imei number/gps chip etc.I mean hardware is still the same with same parts identification number.Supposedly the thief stole several other packages same day.My cousin did file police complaint.

Did you activate Find My iPhone in Settings? If you did, then log into www.icloud.com and see if you can see the phone. This is the only way to track an iPhone.

My partner purchase an iPhone 5s under my name last dec. 2013 I only found out when I receive a delivery email. Two days later I saw him setting it up but don't have any idea what Apple ID he uses. Then the following day it's missing and he told me he lost it. I tried calling the service provider and complained them about it as I am the one that's paying for it. $56 AUD / month they didn't seem to give a **** as long as I'm paying which ****** me off they didn't even confirm my identity prior on purchasing the phone cause if they did I would have known and they would have talk to me before approving it. Until now I'm still paying with that stupid phone that I didn't even get a chance to use. I don't know the serial number either of that phone all I know is its iPhone 5s 16GB white as it's stated on my bill simcard is still active but no outgoing or incoming calls mails or anything. I would appreciate it if anyone could help me out a little.
With Find My iPhone enabled with the iCloud account settings on the iPhone.
If not enabled on the iPhone, there is no way for you to track it. -

No. A phone cannot be tracked by serial number. Did you have Find my iPhone enabled? If you didn't disable it the phone will be useless to the buyer; Activation Lock will prevent its being activated.

The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone/iPod Touch is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.
If your carrier offers Blacklisting & they Blacklist the phone, it will be unusable as a phone.
If locked with a passcode, and running iOS 7.0, then phone cannot be activated or the passcode removed without knowing your Apple iD/Password. It will be nothing but a useless paperweight.
If not running iOS 7.0, the phone can be forced into recovery mode & restored. -

Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. This will erase your device. Then you will go through the setup screens again as you did when your device was new, and when given the option, select Restore from iCloud Backup.

When you say a new user ID, are you referring to your Apple ID that you use to make purchases in the iTunes Store, etc? Or are you talking about a new user account on the same Mac?

How can I use my iPhone as a GPS Tracker? My requirement is not just finding the iPhone using find my iPhone but to use it as a GPS Tracking Device. I wish to enable GPS on my iPhone and want somebody to locate my movement continuously. Earlier I used to do this using my Nokia Phone with Google Latitude. Currently I know Google Plus has a Location Sharing Option also but that doesn't give location details continuously. Any help?

It was never free for the 3GS.
It is if the initial sign-up is done on an iPhone 4, iPad or iPod touch 4th gen.

My iPhone is stolen yesterday around 12 noon,
please help me to find my iPhone back with how to track his whereabouts.There is only ONE way to track or locate the iPhone:
You must have gone to Settings > iCloud > Find My Phone and turned that ON before it was stolen.
The iPhone must be powered up.
The iPhone must be connected to the internet.
If those three conditions are met, you should see your iPhone when you login to your iCloud account from a computer or another iOS device with the Find My app installed. If those three conditions are not met, there is no way anyone can locate the iPhone.
Report the theft to the police, and your carrier in case they offer blacklisting which will render it unusable as an iPhone. Change all passwords associated with acconts on the iPhone.
