How to track Service Item in Install Base

Hi,
How to track a Service Item in Install Base. If I'm right, when we define the item as Service Item in Inventory, Install Base Trackable cannot be enableed...
Scenario:
Customer is doing some services to its customer which has a contract for 1 Year. So we are creating service as Service Item in Inventory and then we create a contract for this service item.
How do we track this in Install Base?

Hi,
A service item by definition need not be tracked in IB. The service may be provided on a machine or asset which will be tracked in IB. Since service item is not a tangiable item, it is not IB trackable.
Kindly explain the business scenario to track the service item in IB.

Do you know please how to deactive automatic heritage of status from parent item to all child items of instal base when updating parent item status in R12?
When I update status of package in Instal Base, statuses of all child items are updated automatically with same value.
I am using R12 standard API's and I don't see any parameter that can help ...

Did you check if the serial ABN656 is the parent and has child components under it? Check the below query for the same. Additionally you can also navigate to Oracle Installed Base Agent User responsibility, search for ABN656, click on the record, navigate to Configuration tab and see if this serial has any child components.

How to create service items and sales order for service contracts.

Hi,
I have created item using Purchased Item template and one more item(service item) using service /warranty program template. Then I have used these items to create sales order with service item in it and closed that order , but Iam not getting this order in service contracts. Is this right way to create sales order for service items. I
item name:- personal_computer
copied from purchased order template. service is enabled and install base is checked and enable service coverage is enabled.
item name:- service_item
copied from service /warranty program template
service is selected to inactive,
service type: service
duration: 1 year
template: Gold
and saved the item.
Then I have used these two items in sales order for service contracts. But that sales order is not hitting in service contracts. Is there any error with item creation.

How to change Service Item using BAPI_ENTRYSHEET_CREATE.

Hi All,
There's a requirement for me to upload/ Create Entry Sheet using BAPI_ENTRYSHEET_CREATE from the source file.
The Header was given to me but the Service Item, they would like the flexibility to change the existing lines that was adopted from ML81N.
Eg of the file.
Header given:-
PO NO
Po Item
Short Text
Ext Entry Sheet No
Service Location
Period Start
Period End ....n so on
Service Item given:-
Service Line (Extrow)
Service Order Qty (Memge)
Ext Service No (EXTSRVNO)
The objective of this file is
1) Create Service Entry Sheet (using Header)
2) Adopt the Service Item
3) Change Service Item (using Service Item)
Could anyone guide me how to do it? If Using BAPI_ENTRYSHEET_CREATE...is actually creating it with full details of the upload file. but given to me, t requrement is they would like to create n change the item.

Hi ,
If you are trying to test the FM through TCode SE37 then it will not give you the desired output.Do one thing create a test program and there you call the FM with your data.I hope in this way you can solve the issue.

How to track residual item

Hi Experts,
first a bill is matched by residual method.
for example: invoice amount: 2000.
collection amount: 1000. remaining 1000 is maintained as resdiual item and is stored in open item table BSID.
after matching the remaining 1000 (residual item) the entry from bsid table getting deleted.
how to track this residual item.

All open items which are not cleared are reflected in BSID table.
Once Open items are cleared against payment or credit note, these cleared items are moved from BSID table to BSAK table.

How to consolidate service item and finished product into a billing doc.

There are two items in my sales order.
one is the finished product, therefore I need to do delivery and billing.
another one is a service item, so i don't need to do the delivery but billing.
When I do the billing, the system split two billing document for this sales order.
How can I consolidate this two items into a billing document? and that is normal invoice for business.

How to track sample items in SAP

Hi experts,
we need some advice on how toi nput and track our sample items in SAP. we would like to keep track of the quantity of sample items that we purchase, but we do not want it included in our inventory. the sample items are actually used in trade shows and are considered a marketing expense.
please advise.

Hi Jane.......
For this you have to create Non Inventory Item and want to set teh GL account fro expense as Expense Account. So, when you take this sample Item in Transactions your purpose of Expense Account as well as no Inventory will be solved and you can get the proper track through Marketing Item Type docs..............

How to add Service item in PR Document using BAPI_PR_CHANGE

Hi Folks,
I am using BAPI_PR_CHANGE to change existing purchase requisition document. By using this FM, i am able to add new item in PR document.
Now my requirement is to add services and limits at item level details.
But when i saw the parameter list of this FM, i am not able to find any parameter where service details or limits can be passed.
So does it mean that, its not possible to edit service details at item level of PR by using FM BAPI_PR_CHANGE?
Or if yes then how can we do it.
If No, then what could be the alternative to change the service details of the item.

Hi Amir,
Can find using rpdfilename.rpd.log (ex: OracleBIAnalyticsApps.rpd.log) file from location OracleBI\server\Repository.
Open the file and search for DELETE
you can find text like
DELETE 4010:507753;
But it hard to know by name unless you get the ID(ex: 4010:507753) of the column from gui ex: Query Repository.

How to track Service Order Status Change (IW31/IW32).

I have a requirement to send the customer an Email if the status of service order has been changed say from unconfirmed to confirmed. So i have to find out whether the status of the service order has been changed on the current date.
As per my understanding, Changes corresponding to any object are stored in tables CDHDR and CDPOS if the change document creation is enabled for that object. But in case of service order status, the changes are not being captured in these tables because change document creation is not enabled for the data element (J_STONR) of service order status.
Anyone having any knowledge about it please help me.

Thanks for your reply. I have found out the way to track the service order changes. Function module STATUS_READ_MULTI can be used for the same. Pass service order number in OBJNR_TAB and the change document for status is returned in JCDS_TAB

You do not need to install the "Find My iPhone" App.
If you had "Find My iPad" enabled in Settings > iCloud then you may be able to locate it. If not, you cannot locate it.
If it was enabled then you can try locating it via http://icloud.com on a computer or the App "Find My iPhone" on another iDevice. Note: this will only work if your device is connected to a network and the device hasn't already been restored as new and/or "Find My iPad" has not been disabled on it. Note: Disabling "Find My iPad" is much more difficult in iOS 7.
If you think that your device was stolen rather than lost then you should report it to the police. In either case you should contact your carrier, change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

Hi Teku,
Javascript can only see what is actually on the page - this has nothing to do with Apex, it's just what javascript is designed to do.
There are two things you can do:
1 - Add a hidden item to your page and set the application item as its source and then refer to that hidden item instead
2 - Use Ajax to get the value
I'd go with the first one as it's the simplest solution.

Yes. Release 6.04 (Enhancement Package 4) provides new API functions for
the object BUS2105 that include this function. In addition the business
function LOG_MM_CI_2 or the switch MM_SFWS_SC2 must be active.
