How to track stolen laptops with Serial Number?

Hi friends, my laptop is stolen two weeks back from my home. Serial No. CBxxxxxxxx
Plz give me a suggetion to track that laptop.

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Currently, the only method AFAIK to track a laptop is via the Anti Theft Technology. It's a lojack for laptops that's embedded on the motherboard. When this chip is activated with the help of Absolute CompuTrace then they should be able to track the unit. Otherwise, there's no technology yet to track the laptop via the serial number.
I recommend you have it reported to the local authorities so that you can claim the unit back once it's recovered.

There is no way to do this, all you can do is report the device stolen with the police and give them the serial number of the device.
Hopefully if they recover this then they will be able to contact them.
There is no way to activate find my device after it has been lost.
as you need to sign into the service on the device and agree to the terms.

AFAIK, the only method to track a laptop is via the Anti Theft Technology. It's a lojack for laptops that's embedded on the motherboard's BIOS (chip) and is usually bundled with tracking software (subscription) like the Absolute's Computrace. When this chip is activated with the help of Absolute CompuTrace then they should be able to track or remotely lock the unit. Otherwise, there's no technology yet to track the laptop via the serial number without the abovementioned methods.
I recommend you report the stolen laptop to the local authorities so that you can claim the unit back once it's recovered. You can also contact lenovo and flag the laptop (via serial number) as "stolen" so anyone who calls for support on the unit will also be flagged.

No. The serial number does nothing at all to help you locate it.
IF you set up find my ipod on the ipod itself BEFORE it was stolen AND it is on AND it is connected to wi-fi AND the thief has not restored it, then you may be able to get an approximate street address from icloud.
Otherwise, there is no way to track it.

Tracking Ipod touch with Serial number

My son just got his ipod touch in April and lost it over the weekend in Gilbert AZ, I know the serial number, how cam I trackit, it does not have any trcaking apps on it.
The safari and other apps are locked so whoever finds it cannot use it for a lot of things.
How can i track it with just the serial number?

that is not entirely true, but the only way to "track" it would be once it is connected to a computer, and connected to iTunes...i would suggest calling Apple support to see how this is done.

- If you previously turned on the FIndMyiPod feature and location service is on, and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud, sign in, and go to FindMyiPhone. It the iPod has been restored it will never show up.

If you did not turn on the find my iPhone feature, then there is nothing at all to be done ( other than change your passwords).
It is just like a lost wallet or car keys.

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod. If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number). The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief. All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
