How to track usage of ipod?

I'm using ipod touch with students. Is there an application that could track the usage of the ipod? i.e. what apps they used and how long? We are part of a pilot and I need to prove to my admin that students are using them, and using educational apps the majority of the time.
If it doesn't exist, I really, really, really need someone to invent it!
Thanks.

Reshma,
The first thing you have to consider is why the tcode is in the role at first place, conventional wisdom is - Role was identified, its functions were identified (or the other way around) and then corresponding tcodes were identified to perform those functions and then role was updated with these tcodes. Now rather than approaching it through the frequency of tcode use, you shoudl revisit the business process or function and evaluate if it is still required in the role. Depending upon this requirement, you should reevaluate your role design. Usually you should just prepare the role-to-tcode matrix and have the business/Function review it periodically.
going by frequency can be misleading, I will give you a scenario - what if the user executes a tcode only once a quarter or 6 months or a year, with rest of the time the function is performed by junior staff or some other team member through a different role. So best practice I can suggest is to review the role-tcode matrix.
You can however check the frequency using Audit Logs in Sm18-20 as mentioned by Vikas above. These are pretty easy to configure but size of logs can get unmanageable depending upon filters.

  • How to track my stolen ipod

how can i track my stolen ipod touch?

If you set up the Find My iPod service prior to the iPod being stolen, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPod is turned on, connected to a WiFi network, and has not had the Find My iPod service disabled or the iPod been completely restored).
If you did not set up Find My iPod, then there is no way to track it. Contact the police and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPod (the iTunes Store, for instance).
    Regards.

  • How to track my stolen ipod only using the serial number

I had my iPod stolen from me sometime within the last week. I changed my iCloud password tonight & I was just wondering if there is any way I can track it using the serial number because I did not set up "find my iPhone" before it was stolen. It was not locked (the password when you first turn it on.) Please help me! I still have one year warranty on it too. Can anybody tell me how to go about fixing the problem? I have serial number if you can track it that way. Please get back to me with your responses asap . thx

No. The SN will only help idenitfy the iPod as yours if it is recovered.

No app on the iPod is required.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up or continue to show off-line.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    iCloud: Erase your device
    iCloud: Use Lost Mode
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

  • How to track the lost ipod

I have lost my apple i pod touch . Apple id is [email protected] and serial no is CCQHGBT8DNQW .Is there any posibility of tracking my ipod .pleas help me to find my ipod. It is being used by some other person. Pleas help me and reply me to [email protected]

If you have "iCloud" and "Find my iPhone" activated with iCloud, you can track it using a second iOS device (iOS 5+ using your apple id) or icloud.com.
IF you can't track it, that means its:
    > Offline
    > Location Service Turned Off
    > Restored by person who may have stolen it
    > Find My iPhone is not active with iCloud.
Which in that case, its gone. Apple will do nothing without a court order.

  • How to track usage in tempDB

    Hello Forum,
We have a busy system, and the developers have fallen in love with temporary tables.
    Too much love....
I can get a snapshot of tables in tempDB, but I would like to track which procs are causing the load in the tempDB.
I think I can sample and record objects in the tempdb, but I would like to record the proc creating the most tempDB usage, and I/O and disk read/writes associated with those procs.
The DMV's give usage in the individual DB's, but what's a good way to correlate procs in the DB's to tempdb usage?
    thanks,

  • How to track my lost ipod w/serial number?

HELP! I cannot find my Ipod touch, Is there any way I can track it down with the serial  number?

No.  Apple can't help either.  If you had already set up the FindMyiPod feature you may be able to find it. The SN will allow you to identify the iPod as yours if it is found.

  • How to track a stolen iPod?

Mine was stolen from my home in the last week... think it could be tracked by the serial number during downloading?

Yes, if you haven't synced another iPod with iTunes, then iTunes7 will have your Serial Number. You can find more information about finding the serial number in iTunes here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60978.
If you are using iTunes 6, then look here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304199.
Otherwise, you could contact Apple if your Registered it, and give them your Apple ID, and information. They should be able to look it up for you. You can find Apple's phone numbers here: http://www.apple.com/contact/.
    Hope this helps,
    Cory

i need help in finding my missing ipod touch

If you had Mackeeper installed you would be able to track it. Report it stolen through Mackeeper Anti-theft and it would be located when it went online. Great program. Highly reccomend the program.
err, isn't Mackeeper a computer program only, not a mobile device app?  And even if it were available for a mobile device like the iPod Touch, it suffers from exactly the same limitations as Apple's own find-my-iPod.  All a theif needs do is plug the iPod into iTunes, restore as new, and everything previously installed and set up on the device is wiped out.
Relying on any remote tracking software that requires a data connection is weak security at best.  Even a Mac computer can have the hard drive reformatted and the OS reinstalled if stolen by someone intent on resale, destroying any such tracking software.  With the device in someone elses hands, relying on any software solution to find the device is flawed, as there is almost always going to be a simple way to circumvent the online tracking feature.

  • How to track down my lost ipod touch with out having mobile me as a app???

DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO TRACK DOWN A IPOD TOUCH WITH OUT HAVING MOBILE ME AS A APP?

You cannot. Sorry.  You could try calling it via facetime, if  you have facetime, and listen for the ringing.
BTW, typing in all caps indicates shouting, is considered rude and is difficult to read.
Many simply do not read such posts.

Its all good, TimN8128! Mrhelper is corret with regards to making sure that mobile data is turned off when on WiFi or when not connected to WiFi, if you do not want the phone to access data services to update or refresh app services. These applications can all be configured by going to Settings and reviewing all apps that appear in that area. You can also configure a bit further by going to Settings>Cellular.
