How to transfer address book on Blackberry Pearl to iPhone

I have a PC (NOT any MAC), I've had an iPhone for the last three days and I have no clue as to how to transfer my address book on my Blackberry Pearl to my new iPhone.
Thanks
Jorge

There should be a way to get it off the Blackberry to the computer first, then from the computer to the iPhone. I don't believe you can go directly between the 2 phones. Try googling getting it off the blackberry to Win XP. The iPhone supports Outlook 2003 or 2007, do you run either of those?

  • How to transfer address book to new iPhone 4 (which has micro-SIM)?

Since I will be unable to put the SIM card from my Blackberry Pearl 8100 into the micro-SIM slot of the iPhone 4, how can I get my contacts into the new iPhone 4? The B'berry just has accumulated contact info SIM transferred from previous Razor, not address book or calendar or anything from my iMac's now Entourage 2008 program.
My iMac's address book has 350 entries collected over the past 20 years. I sure do not want all that significant amount of old, historical info to be on my phone, so a direct sync would bring a ton of crap to the iPhone (don't want that).
    Is there a way to:
    1) mark some (read most) contacts NOT to transfer in a sync?
    2) or any (relatively) easy way separate current 'phone related data' from the rest of the data which is more related to email and physical addresses info that I (think I) have no use for on the phone. It seems like my iPhone address book would be a confusing mess if all data from my iMac were transferred over.
Any ideas on this are appreciated.
I have been reading of the huge frustration on iPhone pre-order 'trying' today, so I have not attempted yet. I need to decide if my address book transfer would be best done at an Apple Store or if I should have it shipped to my home for me to deal with the data transfer. Hmmmn.

Sorry about my sentence structure. If I recall right I was responding late at night.
With that said, my suggestion is to yes create an gMail account (if you don't already have one).
Find a way to export out your current contacts to a .CSV file.
Google's gMail address book has an option to Import from a .CSV file (maybe some other formats too).
Once imported, verify everything looks good and edit as needed.
When you get your iPhone there is an option to have the iPhone get and sync it's address book with Google.
Once setup, it allows you to edit contacts via a computer (browse to gMail, edit contacts) and the iPhone will automatically get the changes. Also any changes you make on the iPhone will automatically show up in Google's gMail contacts. Thus no need to ever plug phone in to sync contacts. You only need to plug in to sync music and other data.
I find this process far better than having to plug in to ensure my contacts get backed up.
You can read more about it here on Google's site:

  • How to transfer Address Book from old iMac to new MacBook Pro?

I will soon be getting a MacBook Pro 15" Intel Core i5 with Snow Leopard and want to transfer my Address Book from my old 2003 iMac flat 15" panel running 10.4.11. What is the best way to do that? Is there a particular file or folder that I can copy onto a flash drive to transfer to the new computer? Or can I use my Mobile Me Backup that is on my external drive (or on CD) to do it even though the Backup on the new computer would be a newer version from the older Backup that has the data? I would like to avoid having to use the Migration Assistant if I can, since it looks like that is designed to transfer whole categories of files (like all "files and folders", etc.), which I don't want to do. Thanks in advance for the help.

When I bought my new MacBook Pro, the sales person showed me how to do the V-card method that you suggested. I tried it at home, and it worked. I have been worrying for years about the best way to do this, so was very relieved to find such a simple method. David Pogue in the Tiger Missing Manual also mentioned another tip which I used: he said to select all the address entries you want to transfer (in my case it was all of them) and then just drag the whole lot out onto the desktop. A V-card icon appeared that said: "Name of Person plus 344 others". I then copied that to a flash drive and then onto the new computer desktop. I then dragged it into the Address Book window. As you said it was done in a matter of seconds. Thank you so much!

  • How to transfer Address Book to new computer?

There is a knowledge base article on how to transfer the catalog to a new computer, but the procedure does not transfer the address Book.
Can somebody tell me where is the contacts file located and how to transfer it?
    Thanks

Assuming youre using PSE 6 on both computers, you can copy the file contacts.xml from the old to the new computer. See this tech note for the location:

  • How to transfer Address book entires from iPhone to Mac?

I lost all my data on my Mac and the only place I have my 400+ contacts is my iPhone. How do I transfer back all this data into my Mac's Address Book please?
    Thank you!

First, Be sure you have at least one contact in your Mac's address book (even a fake one).
Then, connect your phone to iTunes, select the contacts in the Info tab, and sync. It will offer to merge the address book and iphone data.

  • How to transfer Address Book to ICloud?

I'm a bit confused with terminology of "migrating," "importing" and "exporting."  My Address Book on my IMac contains my contacts, which I want to move over to ICloud so that all my devices have my contacts.  I'm afraid if I do the wrong thing, I'll inadvertently erase all my contacts.  The Address Book on my ICloud is currently empty.  How do I copy and move the addresses/contacts I have on my IMac over to ICloud?

Assuming you have already enabled contact syncing as per the reply hereinbefore:
Go to users and groups and choose only your On My Mac Contacts to display.
Ensure that nothing is typed in the search field.
Click to select the first contact and shift-click the last to select them all.
Drag the list of contacts to your desktop.
Delete the contacts from Address Book (using your delete key).
Make sure your iCloud account is your default account (preferences > general).
Select All iCloud contacts from users and groups.
Drag the file you previously dragged to your desktop back onto Address Book.
You might want to back up all your contacts before you begin.
Select All contacts in users and groups
Click to select the first contact and shift-click the last to select them all.
Drag the list of contacts to your desktop.

  • How to transfer Address Book from previous system to new one?

I had to reinstall Mac OS X and chose to archive my "previous system".
How do I get my address book back from my previous system? I lost EVERYTHING:(

Look in your archived user folder. You can just move the yourUserName/Library/Application Support/AddressBook folder to the same location on your new system.

  • How to transfer Address Book 10.4 to Contacts 10.8?

I recently upgraded from a prehistoric iBook G4 running 10.4.11 to a MacBook Pro Retina running 10.8.2.  Is there any way to transfer my old Address Book data into the new Contacts application that replaced Address Book?  I have over 500 cards, many with ample notes I definitely want to keep.  It would take me the rest of the year to re-key all this information.  Ouch!
I've already tried exporting vCards and all the cards and phone numbers show up in Contacts 10.8.2, but all the notes at the bottom of each card are missing! AppleCare tells me that 10.4 to 10.8 is too big of a jump.  They also say that 10.7 was the last OS to use Address Book.  What if I find a mac with 10.7, drag my old address book into that library, and export a 10.7 version of vCards?  Or is there an easier way?
Surely Apple provided a clean way to convert Address Book to Contacts???

Problem solved.  The solution was breathtakingly simple.  And none of the experts had a clue...
After spending untold mindnumbing hours with AppleCare's Level 1 techs and Sr. Advisors, I consulted a real "senior" advisor: my own dad.
Dad (turning 79 this summer) happens to use a MacBook Pro and likes to research things. After getting an earful of my woes and snooping around a bit on his own, dad asked me if I had checked the appropriate box in OS 10.4's Address Book preferences. Huh?
In Preferences, vCards, there's an "Export notes in vCards" box. For some dumb reason this is unchecked as the default. I checked it, exported the vCards and voila, all 500+ cards with all the notes intact imported without a hitch into Mountain Lion.
I can't fathom why no one at AppleCare knew about this (the notes/no notes default is basically the same in 10.8, so "we no longer support 10.4" is a lame excuse). They wasted my time with failed target disk migrations, root user transfer, and using my father's computer as an OS stepping stone, none of which worked, of course, since the crucial default hadn't been touched.
Lesson learned: Before you put your faith in "experts," ask dad...

  • How to Transfer Address Book to Another Mac?

I want to move my existing Address Book to another family member's new Mac. We've been using a shared Mail account and my wife just wants the addresses and auto-completes on her new Macbook Pro. My idea is to copy the Address Book from our iMac and put it into the same location on her Macbook Pro. It's in User/Library/Applications Support. Will this do the trick?
    Thanks,
    Steve M.

P.S. Would exporting and importing the Address Book archive also transfer the mail auto-complete data?
Yes, it does, if you are talking about the Previous Recipients.
An address book archive is just a copy of your user/Library/Application Support/AddressBook folder packaged up differently. That folder contains the previous recipients database.
If you don't have any contacts in your new address book, then transferring it via the archive should work.
You can also just copy contents of the AddressBook folder mentioned above.

Make a new contact group in Address Book that will be the place where you store the contacts from the RAZR
Use iSync to retrieve the contacts from the RAZR over bluetooth, and put the phone contacts into the new contact group you just made
Then, when syncing the iphone, activate that group in iTunes to sync contacts to the iPhone
viola! no typing, no nothing way to move the contacts.
Of course, I am assuming that you have bluetooth on your mac.
