How to transfer apps/contacts, etc.
If this is an obvious answer, please go easy on me. I am so not tech savvy at all.
I have an iphone 4s through AT&T. I may come to regret this (because I'm happy with AT&T and I've heard Sprint's network *****), but because of an unbelievable deal through my brother in law who works for Sprint, I am switching to an iphone 4s through them. But how do I get all of my stuff off my current iphone? Apps, contacts, music, etc?

Hi. Please help. We have 1 itunes account and 3 iphones and an ipod. 1 iphone is new and I need to transfer all contacts, apps, photos, messages etc to the new phone an restore the old one.
I want to ensure that everything I have on my iphone is backed up and transferred to my new one. I thought simply plugging it in and syncing was enough, but when I look on the apps on iphone it asks if I want to sync to Outlook, Google Contacts, Windows Address Book or Yahoo address book. I don't know which one to choose, I just thought it all backed up to itunes.
Obviously I'm not very up on all this so any advice would be great.
Also if you have any advice on how to manage multiple devices on 1 itunes acc, ie, keeping apps, contacts etc separate, I'd appreciate your help.

Phone wiped, new Apple ID - How to transfer apps, etc.
I gave my daughter my iPhone a short time ago. She used my Apple ID to get apps, etc.
We are having problems with the phone now (Wifi not working) so I did a complete wipe on the phone, set up a new Apple ID for her and are setting the phone back up.
At this point, we cannot get any of the apps to sync or to update because iTunes is complaining that she did not purchase the Apps.
How can I transfer all the information from my old Apple ID to her new Apple ID?
I did try to edit the email address on the old Apple ID, but I've already created her new Apple ID and iTunes won't let me change it.
At this point, how can I set up iTunes properly to...
- Use my daughters new Apple ID
- Have all the old Apps, contacts, etc. that she had when she used my old Apple ID
- Authorize content on her computer and my computer (I believe my old ID has 4 computers authorized for some reason)
Thanks!!!Apps are forever tied to the AppleID that purchased them. That's how the rightful owner is identified and theft is prevented.

I got a new iphone but the laptop I used to set up the old phone died, so now all I have is an iPad. How do I get my apps, contacts etc on to my new phone?
sign in with your apple id on the new phone, then go to app store - update - purchase - all/not on this phone and hit the cloud next to the app to downlaod.

My kids use my apple id for their ipods. Now I'm getting an ipad and wondering if I should get a new id (they don't want to start over). Can we share the id (my email address) but not have to see each other's apps, contacts, etc? I'd rather share I think, but don't want to create a nightmare for myself. Also, I already have a kindle app (with purchased content) for my computer - does getting a new id for itunes change my ability to access my kindle account on my ipad? Thanks!
So first I'd say that it's not a good idea to start a new apple id if you have a large purchase history. You may not transfer purchases between apple IDs. You should consider some other options listed here http://support.apple.com/kb/HE37 Primarily the option where you or your children have seperate icloud accounts/email accounts that sync their contacts apart from yours. You may use your apple ID for purchases and use a different one for icloud/email/etc.

i mean that i phone take time to open apps ,contact ,etc why? i close all apps and the problem still?
Try a reset by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.

I was trying to sync my iPhone 3GS and it is now stuck, saying I'm in recovery mode. I am thoroughly confused now after researching online. I'm scared to restore to original settings as I don't want to lose everything, apps, contacts, etc. Help! Is there a way to get it all back if I do restore?? Can I my stuff back through iCloud??
Bad news first and we hope for good news as well
The device is in Recovery Mode and the data has already been deleted, you need to restore the device with iTunes in order to get the iPhone back into a working state
When the iPhone is restored you can then restore it from your latest backup using iTunes or iCloud and regain some, if not all, of your data.
The good news part only happens if you had a backup. -
