How to import passwords from Internet Explorer

Just installed the newest version of the Firefox (27) on WIndows 8.1 and would like to copy all the saved passwords (Autocomplete) from Internet Explorer 11. During the installation process it told me that the passwords will be copied over. They were not. How to do it by myself? Couldn't find anything on this support site with regards to this situation.

Anyway, i think you should try the password exporter addon in firefox. Maybe it could work. I hope this can help you.

I ordered a photoshop element 13 licence. Everything went fine until I am asked to put my Adobe ID and password. My windows computer in combination with internext explorer cannot open the adobe internet side. When I am using Mozilla firefox I am able to log into www.adobe.com. Therefore I would like to ask if there is any chance to switch from internet explorer to mozilla firefox during login process?

If you can login on Adobe.com then clearly you are logged in on Adobe platform. If you want to login to use these forums then click this link and login in the usual way using Firefox browser:

When I upload favourites from Internet Explorer I only get the first two follders (out of 20 or so )

I have followed the help folder instructions and have attempted the upload three times with the same result.

If you have problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager. 
That way you also preserve any sorting that you may have done in IE with the Favorites and the favorites won't end up in a "From Internet Explorer" folder, but will be appended at the end of the Bookmarks Menu folder.

* Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

Firefox tries to keep bookmarks when you update it. If however you use the option saying something like "delete settings" it will delete all settings and profile detail for all installed versions of firefox.
If you still have bookmarks on Internet Explorer, you could reimport them again. I switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox and was so happy. Then I took the prompt and converted to Firefox 4.0 and now my computer is so slow it is almost unbearable. How do I switch back to Firefox 3 or some earlier version to get my speed back?

It takes a long time for the computer to warm up and start working, maybe 30 seconds. Just to open an email can take 10 seconds. This is the kind of delay I was experiencing on Internet Explorer before I switched to Firefox 3. It is particularly slow if I am opening a photo attachment. It also can be slow just moving from one tab to another. Help!

To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data. See https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+Firefox
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use
your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of
installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

Need to upgrade from Internet Explorer to Firefox

I'm running Internet Explorer 5.2 for Mac, and downloaded Firefox 2.0.0.2, but when I try to install it, I get "Image name: Firefox 2.0.0.2--Image format: UDIF read-only--Checksum: CRC32 $6DBEAAAF INVALID---Unable to verify "Firefox 2.0.0.2.dmg"
In the "Open with App" box, under "to open UDIF device", I get "Disk Copy 10.1--created with: "not available"
If I disable the checksum, I can get the Firefox logo to appear, but when I double-click on it, a box appears saying "Firefox has unexpectedly quit"
Possibly the download was incomplete, as I have to use a dial-up where I'm lucky to get 28.8K, but it said "complete"
Am I doomed to Internet Explorer 5.2 FOREVER?

Have you considered upgrading to a newer version of OS X?
Here is some information, to assist you in that endeavor.
Mac OS X Versions 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, and 10.4, are complete system upgrades that must be purchased.
Once an OS has been installed, the point upgrades, such as 10.1.x to 10.1.5 (Final) 10.2.x to 10.2.8 (Final), 10.3.x to 10.3.9 (Final), and 10.4.x to 10.4.8 (Pending), can be downloaded for free.
Tiger is available for purchase at The Apple Store (U.S.).
Jaguar and Panther, are no longer available directly from the Apple Online Store, as Tiger 10.4.x is the most up to date OS.
If you know what to look for, Jaguar Full Retail CDs, a Full Retail Version, of the Panther Install CDs, or a Full Retail Version, of the Tiger Install DVD, can also be purchased rather inexpensively, at some online Apple retailers, Amazon, eBay, AppleRescue, FastMac, etc.
Be sure not to purchase grey, upgrade or machine specific CDs or DVDs.
Jaguar and Panther are only on CDs, not DVDs.
The discs should look like the images in the above links, unless purchased from AppleRescue.

Before upgrading to any OS X version, check to see if your Mac needs a Firmware Update.
If one is required, you must start the computer from a Mac OS 8 or Mac OS 9 System Folder on the computer's hard disk, not from a CD, in order to install it.
Once Jaguar 10.2.x is installed, you can use the 10.2.8 Combo Update,
or if Panther 10.3.x is installed, you can use the 10.3.9 Combo Update, to upgrade to the final version of either OS.
If your Mac meets the System Requirements for Tiger, you could also consider installing that.
And then use the PPC 10.4.8 Combo Update, or the Intel 10.4.8 Combo Update.

Since I switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox, the Celeb Daily link I've always visted will no longer show the images / pictures. Cannot figure out why.

Celeb Daily is a celeb picture site that you can vote a rating of 12 different pics "daily". Since switching from Int. Exp. to Firefox they no longer come up, only texts & boxes. What gives? I am far from computer savvy. Don't go all technical on me if it's fixable. Thanx.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

I recently made a iTunes store account and received the verification email, but when i click the link, it says opening iTunes please wait or something... So i wait and nothing happends. I tried to log in but it tells me to verify email again.

How do I find my "FAVORITES" since I switched from Internet Explorer?

It appeared as though they were transferred during the transition from Internet Explorer to Firefox but I can't locate them.

If you did not have Firefox before your bookmarks would be from Internet Explorer, if you chose IE.
It should have put what was in your bookmark toolbar in IE into your folder "'''Bookmarks Toolbar'''" which you can see in the bookmarks sidebar ("Ctrl+B") as one of three major folders -- "'''Bookmarks Toolbar'''", "'''Bookmarks Menu'''", and "'''Unsorted Bookmarks'''". You will probably find your favorites separated into each of those three folders.
