How to transfer files from iBook to reader?

How to transfer files from iBook to reader

The first step is to export the PDF from iBooks to your computer (this cannot be one on your iPad or iPhone). Connect your iPad or iPhone to your syncing computer. Open iTunes. Select your device (how to do this depends on which version of iTunes you are running). Click on the Books tab at the top. In the current version of iTunes 11, I had to choose to view by PDFs. Then I could drag a PDF from the iTunes window to my Desktop.
Then follow the instructions in this document to import the PDF(s) into Adobe Reader:

Not so easy, I'm afraid. Easier if you just keep copies of your PDFs on your computer.

  • How to transfer files from ibook to G5 wirelessly with Netgear Router?

    Hi,
I have an ibook G3 & a Powermac G5. The G5 is connected via ethernet to my Netgear Wireless router. My ibook connects to the internet etc via a 802.11g 54mbps usb wireless dongle which is currently talking to the router.
I want to be able to transfer files wirelessly from mac to mac.
Can anyone explain how to do this? Be much appreciated!

I have an ibook G3 ... My ibook connects to the internet etc via a 802.11g 54mbps usb wireless dongle...
Sorry but it is not achieving 54 Mbps. The USB port on an iBook G3 is USB 1.1 which has a maximum speed of 11 Mbps. Therefore the maximum data rate achieved by that wireless connection is 11 Mbps... the same as 802.11b.
To give your Power Mac G5 wireless ability you can:(a) Install the correct Apple wireless solution. If you have an early Power Mac G5 it requires the AirPort Extreme card. If you have the late Power Mac G5 it requires an Apple installed combination AirPort/Bluetooth card.
    (b) Install a compatible PCI wireless card.
    (c) Use an Ethernet wireless adapter. Examples of Ethernet wireless adapters are the Linksys WET11, Linksys WET54G, and the Buffalo Technology WLI-TX4-G54HP bridge.

Some of the information below has subsequently appeared in a document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

how to transfer files from 1 ipad to another

Depends what you are trying to transfer.
Are you just trying to add content such as apps, music and photos?
Or are these files that were created by such apps as pages and numbers?
You can download content that was purchased in the itunes or app store by signing into same account.
You can dowload any documents saved to icloud by signing into the same account.
You can create a backup of the first ipad and restore the second from that backup.
You can import or sync the content from the first ipad into itunes and then manually sync to the second.
But this all depends on what you are actually trying to do.

How to transfer files from SD card when the system (Mac OS X v 10.7.5) will NOT recognize SD cards?
    Insert the SD card.
System opens iPhoto with SD contents.
Want to transfer files from SD card to system drive.  iPhoto closes
SD card directory removed from the Finder window and is not available again.
I don't want to have to reboot the system every time I want to perform this option.
    What's wrong here.
The support columns show this isn't an isolated incident with all sorts of solutions possible.
This is a simple task - there should be a simple method for the system to recognize SD cards.
    What's the answer?
I've reviewed a recommendation to reset the SMC.

When I plug in an SD card, the finder window shows it under the DEVICES section.  At this point, I can drag the contents to the hard drive.  However, when I screw up and click the character on the right side of the name - it apparently closes the SD card and I can't find any command to reload or re-recognize the card.  I have to remove and reinsert the card and then sometimes it recognizes the card.  Other times I reboot and it will recognize it.
What does that character on the right side of the SD card name do?  Is it an eject function - with no way to subsequently reread the drive?
It ejects or unmounts the card. When the SD card mounts click on it once to highlight it and then drag the files shown within it to the new folder.

  • How to transfer files from mac to ipad without using itunes

how to transfer files from mac to ipad without using itunes ???
as i want to use my ipad for official use as well...please suggest..

well to be 100% technical, no you didn't but that aside, it good to know there are ways for people to transfer music into the default apps without iTunes, if they have a need.
I tend to use 3rd party apps for documents, like your mentioned iExplorer etc, which are handy.
I see from a search the two "apps" you mentioned are not iOS apps, which I had assumed, SyncPod and FreeSync are apps for your computer, that would explain their access to the default Music/Video apps.
I had wondered how Apple had allowed iOS apps in the store that could get around the sandboxing in iOS of apps.

  • How to transfer files from a window PC to iPad3?

How to transfer files (mainly PDF files) from a window PC to iPad3? I am a new user of iPad, please tell me the basic method.

You will first need an app on the iPad that supports PDF files - unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app. Apps that support PDFs include free apps such as Apple's iBooks and the Adobe Reader app.
For iBooks, you can add the PDFs to your computer's iTunes via File > Add To Library, and they should then go into the Books part of your iTunes library. You can then sync them to the iBooks app on your iPad (which you will need to download from the store and install on the iPad first) by connecting the iPad to your computer and selecting it on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and then using the Books tab on the right-hand side to select and sync those PDFs to it.
Other PDF apps quite often use the file sharing at the bottom of the device's Apps tab
If you don't have a copy then you can download the iPad manual from here : http://support.apple.com/manuals/ipad/

  • How to transfer files from an iMac without upgraded Migration Assistant to a new iMac that doesn't have a firewire port?

    Hello.
I just purchased a new iMac. He's awesome. However, he didn't come with a Firewire port. (Bummer, because I have one from the last time (2007) I had to transfer stuff from my iBook...)
When I turned him on, he wanted to use Migration Assistant to transfer files from the older iMac; she doesn't have the most updated Migration Assistant, though. (She works just fine, but she only has Snow Leopard.)
Okay, so what I'm wondering is if I just have to use a huge external hardrive to move everything? If I do that, will my programs (Microsoft Office) move? I fear they won't move/transfer that way. Ugh.
    PLEASE HELP.
    Ideas? Advice?
    Thank you in advance!

Firewire 800 (what the new iMac has) is 9 pin. FireWire 400 is 6 pin (what your old iMac has).  Hopefully you didn't damage your new iMac by trying to insert a FW400 cable into its FW800 connector. The numbers are important in the case of the ports. They don't interchange!!! Get the proper cable or risk damaging your new iMac.

  • How to transfer files from an Android device to a MacBook Pro

How do I transfer files from my Android to my MacBook Pro

Short answer: download 'Airdroid' app onto your phone.
The solution is in more detail below.
    Hope it helps
    Regards
    Tim
There is a free Android App in PlayStore called, 'AirDroid'. I found the basic version brilliant and intend to buy the pro version in gratitude.
    Procedure
Download the app, create an account and sign in.
Airdroid will open on your phone with instructions to open http//web.airdroid.com on the Mac/pc. Here on this site, on your Mac, you can sign-in or more simply scan the displayed 'QR' symbol with your phone by pressing 'scan QR'. The page will then change to a file tree view of your phone.
This will enable up/down loading of files/pics/videos, texting... view contact listings, remote find phone with gps, change lock codes, wipe phone....
