How to transfer files to and from iPad air using bluetooth

How can I transfer file to and from my iPad using Bluetooth to another Bluetooth-enabled device?  Is there an app for this?

iOS devices do not have the Bluetooth profile for file transfer. Even if the other device is a an iOS device, you can't transfer files over BT. You can use Airdrop between iOS devices. However, even though Airdrop uses BT to locate other devices, the actual transfer is done over WiFi. There are some apps in the App Store that, if loaded on both iOS devices will allow limited file transfer over BT between the devices.

PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO GIVE KUDOS BY CLICKING THE STAR BELOW. THANKS

After you connect your tablet via wifi in the network, you can also share files doing this:
I personally have windows 7 in my laptops, and when I need to transfer files using my laptop, I open network and sharing center, then I click on see full map and finally I click on the icon  playbook-a185, the next screen will show you 2 folders: certs and media.
Another way is opening windows explorer and on the left under network, see the computers listed on the network, find playbook-a185, click on it and will open the folders.
Note: make sure you have file sharing and wifi sharing ON on the playbook. I turn OFF password protect so will be easier to access your files, and when you are done, you can turn password protection ON.
Give kudos by clicking on the start please.
    Thanks!!

  • How to transfer files like music from mac to ipad? tried it using mac but what happen was opposite!

how to transfer files like music from mac to ipad? tried it few times but what happen was the opposite.

If you want to sync your iTunes library on your Mac to your iPad ....
Connect your iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes. Click on your iPad's name on the left side under the devices heading. Then click on the Music tab - and select the music that you want to transfer. Does your iTunes window look like this - with Sync Music checked and the playlists or albums checked as well like in the photo below?
When you click on the apps tab do you have Sync Apps checked and all of the apps in the window below checked to sync as well?
If you select all of the items under the different tabs in iTunes - music, apps, photos. etc. - when you sync - all of the selected content should sync over to the iPad.

  • Cannot transfer files to and from WebDav server

I having much difficulty transferring files to and from our new WebDav server when using Finder's Connect to Server. I am able to connect and authenticate just fine. Although, when dragging and dropping to a mounted drive, I receive the following errors, then subsequently dropped from the sever.
...Unexpected Error Occurred - Error code 1407
...cannot comple the operation because some data in "" could not be read or written - Error code 36
...Unexpected Error Occurred - Error code 1407
This seems to be an issue affecting all 10.5 users in our university. PC's and 10.4 do not seem to be having this issue. When using CyberDuck and Goliath, I cannot login to the server whatsoever.
    Any thoughts?

Same problem here with the finder.
But Cyberduck (ver. 3.2, build 4648) works fine.

  • How to transfer files via airdrop from Mac to iPad

I am a new convert to the Mac world, had my Mac and iPad for about 6 months now, and greatly impressed.  I have Norton on my Mac, so when wishing to transfer via airdrop I disable the connection blocking, when transfering from iPad to Mac the iPad icon appears in finder, but disappears immediately transfer is complete.
I have restarted the Mac hoping that would work but to no avail.  Both are connected to the internet through a BT home hub 5 via an airport time unit.  Both are connected to iCloud, and are set to everyone in airdrop.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Update on problem.
I have received an update on the iPad, airdrop now working.

  • How to transfer files after booting from external drive?

My fathers MB Air has been failing to boot, most likely due to lack of space on hard drive. I've come to the conclusion seeing as how its a 2014 model and he has 6 GB's of free space on his main dirve. I've managed to boot his MB Air from an external drive and now I need to know how to transfer his files to the external hard drive from the internal hard drive, while of course running on the external device. I apologise if this made no sense; trying my best here. If there is any more information required to answer my question please don't hesitate.

There are two backups to be concerned about. Your iOS devices can backup your App purchases to the computer (that can get big fast!) and it can also backup personal settings. Personal settings can be backed up to your iCloud account and Apple provides 5GB free space which is just enough to back up two devices. I suggest the personal data (basically how you have your iOS device configured) be backed up to the cloud rather than the computer. This will free up about 5GB. Once this has been done, open iTunes, select preferences, click on the Devices tab and you'll see the stored backups (if any). Delete each one.
The backed up apps are stored in the iTunes folder. Inside the music folder you'll find a folder labeled Mobile Applications. Good news: you can delete this folder (mostly) safely because it costs nothing to redownload apps if needed. Bad news: if the app is removed from the App store it can't be downloaded again. This has never affected me but it is a potential problem. My solution is that I don't backup my apps to the computer. In the rare event that I need to wipe my iOS device and restore it I've found that downloading the Apps again (which is done automatically for you, no need to remember what you had) takes no longer than restoring them from the computer's hard drive.

  • Moving work files to and from iPad

Sorry for a stupid question. Am still working my thru the 150-page user guide for my new iPad. Two items stump me: (a) no Mac navigational pull-down menus and (b) physically moving work files from my MacBookPro onto the laptop.
    1) Where are the Mac pulldown menus that are normally across the top of an application screen. (File, Save, Bookmarks, View, etc. Example: Am in Safari on iPad. Great screen. Great page. But no "save' or "save as..." options. No options to mail the URL link to someone. If I'm in MAIL, same thing, Where are the standard navigational menus? Where is the option to Save the email or attachment to the iPAD "desktop"? Where are the pref settings for that matter?
I dig all the cool things I can do with an iPad. Especially email and Maps and calendar and contacts. But I'm lost on how to use it for doing real work -- writing and net surfing.
    2) How do I literally move a work file onto the iPad and working on it there. I realize iPad is not a full computer and doesn't have MS Word on it. So can I really work on common files in iPad -- like a Word or Excel doc? Or must I download special apps to do these things?
I am familiar with DropBox and other cool file sharing apps that move files instantly between synced computers. Must the file remain in the DropBo folder and can I not "move" it onto on the iPad desktop where all the icons are. Confused. I know, I know. It's probably in the user manual. Still reading

Assuming you are importing files in a format that your ipad aps can read (pdf for example). Open itunes. Open the books folder (left side of itunes library). Drag files from you computer using finder to the itunes book folder. Alternatively, if you are using an app in your ipad open the apps folder and drag the files to the app you want to use them in. This works for things like goodreader, keynote, numbers, pages, etc. for ipad.

  • My Zen Xtra sucks. Really hard to transfer files to and from

It's kinda old (big clunky Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra, 30 gig). When I got this laptop in August, I downloaded some software to allow me to transfer files from it (I had broken the CD that came with it).
The media source thing won't recognize my mp3 player at all. The Nomad Explorer works, but files transfer EXTREMELY slow, it takes like 0 minutes just to open a folder, and usually a file transfer or simple opening of a folder will fail (It basically takes me half an hour to get into my DATA folder, and even then, I can't transfer stuff out of it, because it freezes up and fails half the time).
I tried just accessing it as a USB device through windows XP, and that also won't work. Windows XP can't see my DATA folder, and it also can't get files out of my mp3 player.
So, any help? Do I need new firmware? New software? I'd like to backup all my music onto my laptop (I don't even use the MP3 player that much anymore anyway, mostly because of the issues I've been having.) and reorganize it, etc.
Direct links if you help please.

Unfortunately it's unavoidable if you're going from a .x (PDE) firmware to a 2.x (MTP) firmware, the change is quite big and it has to format the player during that process. Did you try just reloading the .20.08 firmware? Have you updated to the MTP firmware now (and formatted the player)?
It's always best to keep a back-up of your music so you can easily transfer them back again.

  • How do I remove App Icons from iPad air

Hi ,I recently have bought an Ipad air,and want to remove some old app icons that have come through from an i pod touch I have?
Lots of discussion for removing apps once downloaded, but none say how to remove icons on apps page that are redundant.
    Help please.
    Lizd

You left out a very important fact in your first post...you are seeing this in the App Store, correct? I was assuming you were just at your iPad's home screen and trying to delete the Apps.
The list you see in the App Store in regards to updates that you've downloaded is a list that cannot be modified nor changed. It's simply meant as an informative list of any updates you've downloaded and when the update was installed. The list will start dropping these updates off after a couple of weeks or so.
