How to transfer folders?

I just purchased PS Elements 12 to replace old PS Album 2.0.  When I installed Elements, I assumed that it would transfer all old PS folders and tags, but it didn't. How do I move all these old folders over to new soflware?

In theory, this should work
http://helpx.adobe.com/elements-organizer/using/creating-editing-catalogs.html#use_convert _a_catalog_of_a_previous_version
However, I believe I have seen reports that indicate PSA 2.0 catalogs don't get upgraded, perhaps its just too old. Nevertheless, it is worth a try. Can't hurt anything.

For Transferring email folders form Windows Live Mail to Mac Mail; go with EML in MBOX Converter Software. • How to transfer "folders" of photos from Ipad to PC?

I am about to leave on a two week trip to France. I'm sure I will have many great photo ops and will shoot lots of pictures each day. I plan on downloading each day to my Ipad, so that I will have a folder "event" for each day of the trip. My only problem will be when I get home and transfer these hundreds of shots to my PC.
I will used Adobe Bridge to do so, no problem. But what I would like to do is preserve the individual folders for each day as they existed on the Ipad. I could always do this by hand after the fact, but it would be so much easier if I could figure a way to make the Ipad/or Bridge do this. Anytime I have ever downloaded imported images from the Ipad in times past, several "events" suddenly become one.
I would appreciate any ideas you might have on the subject.
    TIA,
    Georgia

Photostream must be enabled on both devices, both devices must be connected via Wifi, and  both must be associated with the same iCloud account (apple ID). Download iTunes 11.0.4 for Windows
and plug your device into your computer's USB port, or enable Itunes Wifi Sync on your device, to transfer your photos once the device is connected.

How did you transfer from Outlook to TB? There are a couple of free programs that convert Outlook pst files to eml files, and the latter can be imported to TB with an add-on, or dragged from Explorer into a TB folder directly.

  • How to transfer pictures from one itunes to another?

I have most of my iPod stuff on my laptop, but my pictures are on my mac. I just got a new iPod, and I did what I normally do to get my pictures onto it- go into itunes, go into my pictures, and apply it. This time, however, not all of the pictures got transferred. I think it would be easier to have all my pictures on my laptop, but I do not know how to transfer them from one computer to another. How can I do this?

If they are synced photos just copy the folders with the photos to the new computer. Synced photos are not associated with iTunes or the iTunes library.

  • How to transfer music CD's from one itunes account to another same computer

Bought my husband a ipod for Christmas. I have had one for awhile so I have many songs from itunes and CD's on my account. I have figured out how to transfer my paid songs from itunes to "his" itunes account, but I do not know how to get my CD's that I have downloaded. I do not want to have to manually download all the CD's again, is there an easier way? Everytime I try and share files it just shares the paid itunes songs.
    Thanks

Although it would double up your drive space use, you can always go into the iTunes music folder and copy Artist folders, album folders, or individual tracks to your shared folder and then he can import them to his iTunes.
Or he can set his iPod up for manual updating and simply plug his iPod in when under your account and load whatever songs he wants from your library into his iPod. See below for more details...

  • How to Transfer the iPhone from one computer to another Win XP

    All
I got my wife a new macbook pro, running Windows XP prof. She has an iphone 3G with 16 GB memory running 3.0.1. So..she wanted to transfer the sync function from her PC to her macbook. Of course, Apple was of NO help at all (but did want to charge us $69.95 since her iphone is out of warranty, and this was an iphone not a mac problem, hmmm..). Took me lots of digging, but here is how you transfer you iphone from one computer to another:
    1. Move you itunes library from the old computer to the new one. To do this, you do NOT just copy it. This is as good a link to use as any to see how to do it, but search the internet and you can find instructions:
    http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-12519_7-10242259-49.html
    2. Transfer your applications you have purchased to the new computer. To do this, open itunes in the new computer, hook up your phone and click on File>transfer purchases (from itunes store) to computer. This will move your applications to the new computer.
    3. Export your MS outlook calendar, contacts, notes, etc. to the new computer by saving each of these categories as a PST file (file>export>then choose the category and type of file)...and then copy these PST files to your new computer and import them into MS outlook.
    4. Copy your playlists from itunes on your old computer to your new computer. This link may be helpful or search the internet again if you need to:

    5. Now...the important part...how to transfer all your settings from the iphone to the new computer....this is the part that was hard to find online, but finally got it: NOTE: THE BACKUP THAT ITUNES MAKES BACKS UP THE APPLICATION SETTINGS BUT NOT THE APPS SO THIS IS WHY YOU NEED TO TRANSFER THE APPS TO THE NEW COMPUTER. The settings have all the data you put into your apps, email settings, preferences, etc...so its a huge time save to transfer these to the new computer also.
-Sync your iphone with your old computer to have a backup in case you mess up...in that case you can restore from your old computer and start over
-Plug your iphone into the new ocmputer and start itunes. It will detect your phone (I assume you have already authorized your new computer to use the library and playlists and apps that you moved)
-Right click on the "iphone" on the left bar...you will see a popup menu...click on "BACKUP". Let it backup your iphone to the new computer. It will NOT sync the phone
-When the backup is done....copy the backup file to a temp directory to be safe. The backup is located in "documents and settings">user name>applications>apple computer>mobile sync. If you cannot see it, you need to open windows explorer (not internet explorer) and go to tools>folder options>view and click on "show hidden files and folders" Note YOU CANNOT JUST COPY THE BACKUP FROM THE OLD COMPUTER TO THE NEW COMPUTER AS SUGGESTED ON SOME WEB SITES...THIS DOES NOT WORK, ITUNES WILL NOT IDENTIFY THE BACKUP EVEN IF YOU PUT IT IN THE FOLDER IN THE NEW COMPUTER THAT MIRRORS THE FOLDER LOCATION IN THE OLD COMPUTER.
-OK now you are ready...click restore on the iphone and restore the phone to factory settings. This will happen in a few minutes (10-15 mins).
-The phone will reboot and itunes will recognize the phone again...as a restored phone. It will then ask you if you want to restore it from the backup..say YES. You then need to go through all the itunes tabs and click on everything you want to sync to the phone (playlists, movies, podcasts, ringtones, etc). Once you are done going thru the tabs click "apply" and the sync will start. Go out, to a movie, to bed, whatever because it will take hours to sync.
-Once the sync is done...voila...your iphone has been moved with ALL the settings to the new computer. Check it. Then you can delete the backup you put into the temp folder if it is OK
    -Deauthorize your old computer
This worked for Win XP...should work for Vista. The whole process took many hours so don't rush through it (i'm guessing 12 hours total work).

  • How to transfer photos from Zen Vision M 60GB to

I was recently on a long trip and ran out of storage on my camera's memory in a location where I was not able to buy more memory or to transfer to a PC, so I transferred directly from my camera to the Zen using the USB function. The photos transferred smoothly and are showing beautifully on the Zen.
the problem is that I can't figure out how to transfer/copy them to my PC now that I am home. Looking at the user guide I'm getting concerned that I should have used the removable hard dri've function instead of the USB function....
?Anyone know how to transfer jpeg photos off the Zen and onto a PC? These are photos from Gallapagos, a once in a lifetime trip, and I'd hate to lose them....

When you transferred using the USB function, your files have been put under the Imported Files folder. Use Creative Media Explorer to go through your folders in your Zen, and under Imported Files you should see a folder with your pictures. Just drag and drop them back to your PC.
You can then erase the pictures from your Zen, and re-sync with your computer, and the pictures will then be under the proper Pictures folder in your Zen!

  • How to transfer pics from PC to Ipad?

I recieved an Ipad 4th gen as a gift. I know how to transfer music from my  from my PC (vista) but Im doing something wrong trying to transfer my pics from my PC. I succesfully transfer them, but when I attempt to transfer more from another folder it erases the previous folder. Im sure it has something to do with the options of "synch" and "apply", and the order thereof. (Btw... this is all within my new itunes acct) Can anyone help with this? Thank You...

You cannot sync from two different folders at the same time. Place all of your photos into one main photos folder from which you can sync the including the subfolders. You can select one level of sub folders when you sync  ... For example you can have 8 sub folders within the main folder and you can sync all of those sub folders when you sync.
If you switch photo folders when syncing, the photos from the original folder will be erased. That's how it works with syncing photos in iTunes. .... All photos in one main folder when you sync. All photos must be included in each subsequent sync as well. They all have to be selected to sync every time.

how to transfer all photo from iphone4s to pc win7?

There's a few ways.  The easiest is to connect your iPhone to your computer via USB.  Ignore iTunes if it shows up automatically.  Open Windows Explorer (File Explorer) and the name of the device should appear in the Computer section.  Double-click it, double click Internal Storage, then DCIM (if there's any more folders, just double-click each one seperately and follow these instructions) and inside should be all your pictures.  Drag them to the desktop or another desired location.

  • How to transfer video clips to a computer running a Windows operating system.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Turn on the computer.
While the camera power is off, connect it to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
Make sure the camera is using a fully charged battery pack or connected to an optional AC power adapter and that it is plugged into a working electrical outlet.
NOTE: Avoid using a battery pack with little remaining charge because transferring may fail or image data might be corrupted if the battery pack shuts down too soon.
Make sure media with the recorded video is inserted in the camera.
    Turn on the camera.
    NOTES:
On the LCD screen, a USB indicator will display during and after the communication session.
If this is the first time the camera has been connected to the computer, the computer should automatically install the appropriate USB driver at this time.
Transfer the pictures or videos to the computer using one of the following methods:
Use the Import pictures and videos option.
In the AutoPlay window, click Import Pictures and videos using Windows.
In the Import Pictures and Videos window, click Import Settings.
In the Import Settings window, click the Browsebutton.
Click to select the location on the computer where you want to copy the movie files (for example My Videos).
    Click the OK button.
In the Import Pictures and Videos dialog box, click the OK button.
    Click the Import button.
Use Picture Motion Browser (PMB) software
Using PMB version 4.3 or older
Using PMB version 5.0 or later
Copy and paste the video files from the Removable Disk window that represents the camera.
Open the My Computer or Computer window on the computer.
In the My Computer or Computer window, double-click the icon that represents the camera.
Click to select the appropriate camera folder that contains the video or picture files you want to transfer.
The DCIMfolder (if available) contains still picture .JPG, or .ARW files and .AVI video files.
The MP_ROOTfolder (if available) contains standard and high-definition .MP4 video files.
The AVCHD folder (if available) contains high-definition .MTS video files.
NOTE: Depending on your camera and the type of footage recorded, not all the files or folders above may be displayed.
On the computer keyboard, press CTRL+C to copy the camera folder and its contents.
Browse to the location on the computer where you want to copy the picture or video files, such as the My Pictures or My Videos folder.
Press CTRL+V to paste the camera folder and its contents into the computer folder you selected in the above step.
    NOTES:
Movie player software must support the MPEG-4 format to playback standard or high definition .MP4 recordings.
Movie player software must support the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format to playback high-definition .MTS recordings.
Refer to the developer of your movie player software for information about file format compatibility.
For the video to be viewable in the PMB software, the folder where the videos or pictures were saved must first be registered in the software. Information about how to register folders is available in the PMB Guide in the Help section of the software.

In PSE10, you can try to convert your old starter edition catalog. First you have to find your old catalog, it probably has a file name that ends with psa so you need to search your computer for *.psa (you probably will have to tell Windows to search in hidden folders). Then, once you have found its location, in PSE10, File->Catalog->Convert and point it to this old catalog.
By the way, your photos are not stored in PSA Starter Edition 3. They are stored on your hard disk somewhere, wherever you put them. So you can always get to your photos that way if you want.
