How to transfer ipod songs to a new account

How do I transfer my ipod songs to a new account because I can't recover my old account?

What do you mean by new account?  New account on your PC or a new Apple ID account?  Need a bit of clarification here.

    you can use home sharing.
or, assuming you have all your media files in the default location, copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music or media folder) from the old to the exact same location on the new machine.
you can either use your network or an external HD for that.

You don't.  Registration is a one time thing that you do the first time you install an application.  Once registered it does not need to be done again.
You should see if yoiu can have the activations reset before you try installing on a new machine so that you still have the two activations that are available to you.  If not, you should still have an activation available for use with the new installation.
To reset activations contact Adobe Support and ask them to reset your activations....  For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

To get it working on the new machine you just install and activate using the serial number you should already have.

On the same Windows Vista computer, how to transfer / copy all music from one user account to another without using another computer or home sharing?
(Please also consider that the iPad will also sync with the new user account without losing any songs.)
Note: iTunes for Windows version 11.0.4.4

    Yes, that would work too.
The iPad backups will not be transferred, am I right?
Hmm, I think you are right. If I recall the backup exists in the user profile, so that would be the case.
Is it sure that the iPad will be synced with User 2 without losing any songs?
Yes, but to be safe, backup and sync the device with user 2 before deleting user 1.
You should also maintain a separate backup.

  • Old computer crashed...new computer...how to transfer ipod songs

My old computer completely crashed so it is not working at all. I have a new computer and I'm trying to transfer all my music from my ipod to my itunes. I have been trying to do this without erasing all my old music, but I have a lot of music purchased that wasn't on itunes. I just can't get it to work and I have authorized my new computer to my ipod.

If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
For all other non purchased music (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.

  • How to transfer ipod songs to mac itunes?

i just restore my mac.and all the songs in itunes are all gone.
I had a ipod and how can i transfer all the songs to the itunes..
please help me...the songs are u so important to me.THX=]

If your iPod is set to sync automatically you need to take care connecting to an empty iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘ Apple) keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and it will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. You should then be able to change your settings: iTunes for Mac - Keyboard Shortcuts
Alternatively open iTunes first and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices and check the box "Disable automatic syncing for iPhones and iPods" and choose Ok. Then connect your iPod.
Once you are connected and your iPod is safely in manual mode there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. iTunes will only let you copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchases) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here (you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well):
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
A selection of iPod to iTunes utilities:
Senuti Mac Only (iPod Touch & iPhone compatible)
expod Mac Only (iPod Touch & iPhone compatible)
    PodView Mac Only
    PodWorks Mac Only
TuneAid Mac only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    YamiPod Mac & Windows
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPodRip Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    Floola Mac & Windows
Music Rescue Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.
I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

  • How to transfer IPod songs to Mac Laptop with no songs?

Songs are on my desktop and were downloaded to my I Pod mini. I want to transfer all the songs from either source to my laptop.
How do I do that without all the songs being erased on my laptop when I connect the IPod?

Connecting the iPod will not delete any songs on the laptod or on your desktop.
Enable disk mode on the iPod.
Drag them to the ipod and then the laptop.

  • How to transfer iPod songs frm Mac Formatted iPod to Windows formatted iPod

I have an eMac with iTunes 7.1.1 and my daughter's 30 gb, video iPod has 1000 songs on it-- that iPod is formatted for Mac.
OK but now she is switching to a PC due to work, and moving- so she won't have access to the eMac. She'd like to format her iPod for PC, but doesn't want to lose the 1000 songs. (Many/most are already on the PC, but so are many, many more, - from her sister etc.--and she'd like to just transfer these 1000).
What I'd simply like to do is copy her 1000 songs to a folder on the eMac by putting the iPod into DISK mode, then connect the iPod to her PC and completely erase it / format it for Windows via iTunes 7.1.1 for Windows on her PC.
Then I'd like to transfer the 1000 songs in that folder to my external La Cie 60 gb "USB2" HD (which I will format for Windows first).
Then I'd like to connect that La Cie External HD to the PC and have the 1000 songs imported into my daughter's windows iTunes and then finally have her connect her iPod and have the 1000 songs copied (manually or via sync) to her now-formatted-for-Windows iPod.
CAN THAT BE DONE? If so, is there anything tricky here, i.e. do I have to use iTunes on the Mac to put the iPod into HARD DISK mode?
And will the songs once on the Mac be able to copy over to a Windows-formatted La Cie external HD?
NOTE: All 1000 songs are songs from CD's that she has put into iTunes, i.e. there are no 'Apple iTunes store' purchased songs so there will not be a problem with that.
Any comments really appreciated here-- she's only visiting for a couple of days and I'd like to do this asap-- really appreciate any guidance.

  • I have an old shuffle that I created with a different email address that I no longer have. is there a way to add these songs to my new account

I have an old shuffle that I still use with many songs. I created this account with an old email address that I no longer have. Is there any way to transfer these songs to my new account so I may purchase more songs and still use my shuffle? Thank you!

Basically, no, but as long as all the music is in the same iTunes library and it doesn't contain protected content from more than five Apple IDs, you don't need to. If desired, click here and ask the iTunes Store staff for assistance.

  • I have an older Ipod shuffle with many songs loaded on it. How can I transfer these songs to a new computer since the old computer is no longer available

I have an oder Ipod shuffle with many songs loaded on it. How can I transfer ths songs to a new computer since the old computer is no longer available?

I had the same problem with my iPad, i couldn't get the newer version of itunes because the computer was too old and my iPad couldnt sync with the old itunes. I got a PC from school a few months later so that solved the problem for me. Unfortunately i don't think there would be a program to put your music on your iPod, iTunes should be the only way to transfer files to Apple devices. What operating system are you running and what version of it is it?

  • HT4527 How do I transfer all my iPod songs to my new touch iPod

How do I transfer all my iPod songs to my new touch iPod

Hey, I had the exact same issue. The way that Apple explains to do it is change your iPod into hardrive mode by messing with the preferences. While your iPod is hooked up to your old compuer, go into preferences and check the box saying enable disk use. Then your iPod will appear on the desktop and you can drag the song files into it. I don't know if you can transfer them all at once or not. Anyway, then you hook up the iPod into the new computer and drag the songs into iTunes. I had trouble doing this and it erased all my songs one time but I think it was an error on my part. Another way to do it is to send the song files through AIM. Have someone on the old computer and you on the new one and send them in large bunches to the new computer. Yet another way is to e-mail them to yourself and download them on to the new computer. The sure-fire way (and the way I finally succumbed to but it worked!) is to download the program iPodCopy on the new computer and follow the instructions to have your music quickly and easily copied. It does cost $17.00 dollars to download but I was willing to pay the price to have my music transferred hassle-free. Just type iPodCopy into google and it should come up. After months of trying and searching how to transfer my music to the new computer, this was my last resort and it was well worth it!
I hope my suggestions help you out in your iPod escapades!
Let me know if they work. Buenas Suerte.

  • How to transfer purchased songs from old PC to a new one?

    Hi -
Any ideas on how to transfer my songs stored in iTunes on my old computer to the newly installed iTunes on my new computer? As I am looking through the postings, it doesn't seem possible, but I would like to make sure.
For example, is it possible to transfer some of my songs through my iPod Suffle (after I load it up with songs stored in my old PC)? After I installed the iPod software on my new PC, my Suffle was reformated, hence is currently empty...
So much trouble for what I thought was going to be a simple switch!!! Please help!
    Thanks!
