How to transfer music form my iPod to my new i tunes

I'm sure this question has been asked a hundred times an you computer wizard are probably tired of it but I was unable to find the answer so I'm asking again.
I had to buy a new mac book because my 07 mac book died from the blue screen of death.  what ever.
All my music is on my iPod (4 gen) and some on my I phone (4S)
No I didn't buy it all from I tunes a lot of it I down loaded form CDs I had.  How do I get it all loaded back on I Tunes?

Hey engrguy,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you have music on 2 devices that have content you want to move to your new computer. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
iTunes: Transferring media from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or iPod - Apple Support
Music purchased from the iTunes Store
Transfer your media through iTunes.
Download your media through iTunes in the Cloud1.
Download your media through iTunes Match2.
Music imported from a CD or other source
iTunes can't transfer this media back to your computer.
Back up your iTunes library or use iTunes Match2.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Have a good one,

No.  You have to get the music in iTunes and then sync to the new iPod.
Transfer iTunes purchases from the old iPod by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of thse discussed here:

how to transfer music from old iPod nano to new iPod touch ?

The 1st and 2nd gen iPod shuffle can only be used with one iTunes library (not "account") at a time.  Your Apple ID and password does not matter.  (Later shuffles can be used with more than one iTunes library, IF it is set to use the Manually manage music option.)
So, if you sync it with a different iTunes library, the previous content will be replaced.  You need to offload the existing content to your new computer's drive as the first step.
You cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.  (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to the iTunes library.  After confirming all of your songs are there, sync your shuffle with that iTunes library.

The easiest way is to simply restore your music from your backup drive.

Music Rescue also works as far as restoring your playlists etc. I've used it twice, you can use the Quick Recover mode, but have to click continue trial (something like that) allot, cp. to purchase option. Otherwise diesel is right as far as restoring via  your purchase history.

  • How do I transfer music from an iPod to a new computer, with an existing iTunes account that is not mine, or to an iPad??

My computer crashed and I lost my iTunes library and music. The music is however on my iPod 5th Generation. How do I move my music to my husbands computer, where he has his own music....or how do I transfer or add my music from my iPod to my iPad?
I also lost all my gift card money on my iTunes account. Can I add my iTunes account to a computer that already has an iTunes account?

I have read this, but it does not help. My crashed computer had my iTunes library with MY iTunes ID. The new computer and iPad that i want to transfer my music to, that is on my iPod, is under a different iTunes account. Can I still transfer my music from my iPod to a new computer that has a different ID?

I just got a new mac and would like to transfer my music from my iPod to my new mac. Ive tried a few programs to do it and it will not let me because of IOS 5. Any help?

if it was bought on the ipod then you can transfer
otherwise you have to rely on the 3th party programs catching up with ios5 way of doing it
apple makes it like this to avoid people using ios devices to tranfer illegal material from computer to computer

I need to move all the music from my ipod to a new computer so I can put it in iTunes?

The best way is to use the backup you made on the old computer and restore the iTunes folder to the new computer. No backup? The if the old computer is still working using an external device to copy the iTunes folder from the old computer and copy it to the new one.
If neither of the above are doable, and you have a PC, use this:

  • I want to transfer music from my ipod to a new computer can I do this?

can I transfer music from my ipod touch to a new computer?

Sort of... but the best bet is to transfer/copy your entire iTunes media folder from your old computer to your new computer.  Otherwise you may not get all your media copied.
iDevices are not backups, they are simply mirrors of what exists in your iTunes library.
