  • How to transfer music from my old ipod to my itunes

I have a old ipod that my sister gave me couple years ago. She put a lot of music in it and gave it to me as a gift. I wanted to transfer music from that ipod to my itunes.
Is there any way to do it? and How?

You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.  (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to your current iTunes library.  Then you can sync your iPod to that library.

I am trying to transfer music directly from my ipad2 to my iPod Nano. Has anyone figured out how to do this without using a computer?

You can't.  Music can only be synced to the Nano from an iTunes library located on a PC or Mac.

I´ve got an iPod, that isn´t mine, but I like to put the music, which is on this ipod, on my iPod. Can you please help me?

You would need to legally purchase the music, either by download from someplace like the iTunes Store or Amazon or by purchasing the CDs.
    Best of luck.

Some of the information below has subsequently appeared in a document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • How to transfer music from ipod to ipad

I am needing to know how to transfer music from my ipod to my iphone and ipad...I dont not have a mac computer

If they are iTunes purchases then you might be able to re-download them directly on the iPhone and iPad via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app (re-downloading isn't possible in all countries) : re-downloading. If you can't re-download them then you will need to go via a computer's iTunes (PC or Mac).

if from 3rd party you have to put songs on computer and sync from itunes.  Apple doesnt support syncing from ios to itunes so you will have to already have the songs on pc.
