No.  You have to get the music in iTunes and then sync to the new iPod.
Transfer iTunes purchases from the old iPod by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of thse discussed here:

how to transfer music from old iPod nano to new iPod touch ?

The 1st and 2nd gen iPod shuffle can only be used with one iTunes library (not "account") at a time.  Your Apple ID and password does not matter.  (Later shuffles can be used with more than one iTunes library, IF it is set to use the Manually manage music option.)
So, if you sync it with a different iTunes library, the previous content will be replaced.  You need to offload the existing content to your new computer's drive as the first step.
You cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.  (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to the iTunes library.  After confirming all of your songs are there, sync your shuffle with that iTunes library.

  • How to transfer music from older ipod to new ipod?

    Hi,
I have an older Ipod touch 8GB that currently has about 1000 songs in the itunes library.
I know this question has probably been asked a million times, but the replies i read seemed a little confusing!
My question is, Is there an easy way to save/transfer all my music that is in my current itunes library (that is uploaded to my old 8GB) , so that i can easily upload it straight to the new 64GB?
or is it best to just erase everything and start a fresh ?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you in advance

    There is not direct transfer.
Yo have to copy from old iPod to computer/iTunes by:
Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device: Apple Support Communities
The sync to the new iPod.
You can also redownload most iTunes purchases directly to the iPod by that method described here:

When I attempt to transfer, itunes sync would only allow to transfer if you clear ipod to allow transfer from another computer. unfortunately it cleared the external hardrive that had all the music not the ipod itself. is there a step by step way tutorial to do this correctly?

Go to iTunes, sync new iPad and all your music should be there.

  • How to transfer music from an Ipod to a computer

I bought a brand new computer after my last one quit working altogether. I have over 250 songs on my iPod that were not purchased on Itunes, and I need to transfer them to my new computer. Is there a way to transfer music that was uploaded from CDs?
**Hitting "transfer" only transfers songs I've downloaded from iTunes. It doesn't help with content I've gotten from other sources.

You can transfer music from iPod to computer by these steps:
Open iTunes on your old computer.
Connect your iPod to your old computer and wait for it to appear in iTunes.
Select your iPod on the left side of the iTunes window under the Devices section to display your iPod preferences.
Click the Summary tab in the main iTunes window.
Select the "Manually manage music" checkbox. This will also select Enable disk use.
If the above steps does not work, you can try some 3rd party apps like iPod Transfer.

  • How to transfer music to new computer

My daughter wants to transfer all her music from an old macbook to her new MBP in college. She has already started a new iTunes library on the new laptop but it doesn't have much in it yet. She wants to consolidate all the content on the old MB into her MBP.

She could use her back up copy to do this. If she doesn't keep a back up, she needs to, as hard drives can and do fail.
You can transfer the files via migration assistant (comes with every mac). She can copy songs to a CD, DVD, flash drive, external drive, ipod, etc.
Go to the top of this page, click Support, type "move itunes library" or similar into the search support bar. You will get several helpful articles.

  • How to transfer music library from iPod to iTunes to replace a failed hard drive on a Macbook Pro?

My MacBook Pro hard drive failed and I was only able to save a few songs out of a library of over 5,000.  My iPod Classic, luckily has the entire library on it, BUT all I can find is how to update the iPod with the current iTunes library on my new and empty MacBook Pro.  How can I do a reverse update, from iPod back to the iTunes library on my computer?
