How to transfer my daughter's iTunes from her Vista laptop to MacBook Pro?

I am trying to transfer my daughter's iTunes from her Vista laptop to her new MacBook Pro and I cannot figure out why iTunes cannot find the songs.  Help??
Her old laptop runs Windows Vista and her MacBook Pro is running Leopard.....I copied the iTunes folder under My Music on the PC and then dropped in the Music folder under iTunes.  I can see the songs when we opened up iTunes but when you try and play the song, a message pops up saying iTunes cannot find the music file, and asks if I want to try and locate it.  I locate it and nothing happens.
I spent $100 at the Annapolis Apple Store so she could go in on her One-0n-One and have all of this done for her.  When she went in, they told her she could leave her laptop and macbook and it would take up to three days!!!!  That was unacceptable....they then told her she needed to transfer everything and then come in for the One-On-One and have any questions she had answered.  SO, I am trying to complete the transfers and everything worked like a charm until I tried to tackle the iTunes part.
Any help would be deeply appreciated!!
Charlie

Start iTunes 11.1 or later on your MacBook Pro and connect your iPhone. Select your iPhone in iTunes and under General select Transfer purchases.
That will create backups of your apps on your MacBook Pro. The apps will not run on your MacBook Pro though just in case you were wanting to do that. The Mac OS X on the MacBook Pro and the iOS on your iPhone are different operating systems.

  • HT1386 How do you sync your itunes from the Iphone to the macbook pro?

How do you sync your itunes from the iphone to the macbook pro?
Let's say, I have an Iphone 3GS and it was synced to my older pc (I know...) and it crashed and I can't retrieve my files on there.  I want everything that I have on my 3Gs: photos, videos, music, notes, voice recordings, etc...  Now, I recently upgraded to 4Gs.  I can sync almost everything via icloud but there are files like photos, videos, other music that I cannot sync or for some weird reason it won't work over the cloud.  So I want to move all of those information to my macbook pro (upgraded from pc... yes!).  How do I move everything in my iphone backed up to my itunes in my mac book so that I can sync it to my new 4Gs?

I have a 3GS IPhone and have not been able to find Cloud on it anywhere (I was instructed to go to Settings, General, etc). I have also been told I should download update from I Tunes and have not been successful doing that either. I know my I Pad has the Cloud and I am wanting to sync the calendar from the phone to the pad. Any suggestions?

How do I move an address book from a pc to my new MacBook Pro

    Hey andreafiona,
You can either manually migrate or use Windows Migration Assistant. I'd like to direct you to two articles - the first one here will go over generally what Windows Migration Assistant is about. For you, I'd skip to the section titled "What gets transferred, and to where?" and then "Email, contacts, and calendar information" so you can read about where you contacts will get moved if you choose the WMA option:
    About Windows Migration Assistant
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4796
Then, this next article will be a step by step process for transferring from your PC to the MacBook Pro and will include using both Windows Migration Assistant and manually migrating, whichever you choose:

  • Moving iTunes from one PC to three MacBook Pros - how?

We started using Mac products because of the iPod. Each of our three family members in the household (dad, mom, and daughter) each created an iTunes account when we started; one for each iPod, however, we used dad’s Apple ID as the “master” account for iTunes. Anytime we purchased music we added it to the iTunes library using dad’s Apple ID. Back then, we were PC users and the PC held our iTunes library so it wasn’t a problem because we could each download music on to our own iPods from the master library with no problem. Today, all three of us have MacBook Pros and all have iPhones too.
Because we all each have our own Macs and we each have our “own” music we listen to from the master iTunes library account (dad’s) on our phones and iPods, how can we permanently move the music (and everything else like apps, pictures, etc.) on to each of our own MacBook Pros, yet still share the music (and stuff) with each other when we buy new music? The PC is dying and we have transitioned to each having our own Macs, yet we still want to share the music and stuff with each other when we buy new music or apps like before, yet we are not going to have a “master” iTunes library in a central computer?  When we updated our iPhones, we used the master iTunes library.
I know we can use Home Share in iTunes to share music but it is my understanding that you have to use the same Apple ID (account) on all shared computes and devices to stream music using the same Wi-Fi network.
We can transfer all the music from the master library on the PC using Home Sharing to our own iTunes library on the Macs – not a problem. Do I need to actually copy the iTunes Music Folder files too to the Macs or just transfer music with Home Sharing?
    Problem:
When mom or daughter each tries to updates their phones will the iTunes library on their Macs be overridden when they try to update their iPhones using their own Apple ID in iTunes? Will they lose all their music (and stuff) on their machines to be overridden by their iPhone?
I know we may have initially set up the accounts incorrectly when we first started by having a master library but we didn’t know what we were doing (not like we have improved much since then, but that’s another conversation) and we definitely did not anticipate or foresee each of us owning our own MacBook Pros.
Is there a way we can make the transition without being penalized for being shortsighted when we started this several years ago? Any assistance would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Choose Consolidate Library from the Advanced menu or the Library section of the File menu in iTunes, find the iTunes library location from the iTunes preferences, and move the folder to the new computer using any method necessary, such as an external drive, optical disks, or a network connection.

  • How do i transfer pdf documents(in Cloudreader) from an iPad to my Macbook Pro?

how do i transfer pdf comics(in cloudreader on ipad) tomy macbook pro?

    Ihead-
I'm not familiar with Cloudreader, but it may be one of the Apps that can transfer files via iTunes.
Connect your iPad to your computer and run iTunes.  Select the iPad under DEVICES and click on the Apps tab at the top of the window.  Scroll down to File Sharing and look for Cloudreader in the list of Apps.  If it is there, click on it and see if your PDF documents are in the Documents window or inside a folder in that window.
So see inside a folder, you may have to "Save To" your computer, and open it there.

  • How to I get ALL my songs from my phone onto my Macbook pro iTunes

So about a week ago I got a new Macbook Pro with retina. I set everything up on it including Itunes. When I was setting up my itunes i signed into my account then took my iphone and synced my iphone to the itunes on the new computer. Everything was showing up on the computer so I though everything had sunk and was backuped. But when I was going through it today I noticed a few of my artist are missing some songs. I tried backing up and syncing the phone to computer again but NOTHING IS WORKING. CAN ANYONE HELP. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss.  To use a device with a new computer you transfer the content from the old computer (or its backup) directly to the new computer, not the device to the new computer. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software.  See this document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

  • How can I transfer iLife and Final cut from my iMac to my Macbook Pro?

I have Final Cut and iLife on my iMac and just bought a Macbook Pro and I want to transfer it to my Macbook now.  Do I need the disc?  Can I do it without the disc and if so how?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Respecting to iLife, your MacBook should come with iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand preinstalled, so you don't have to transfer iLife from your iMac unless you need iWeb or iDVD.
Respecting to Final Cut, it depends on the version you have. If you have Final Cut Pro X, you have purchased it from the App Store, so you can download it in your MacBook Pro for free. To do it, open App Store > Purchases, and download Final Cut Pro X. If you have an older Final Cut version, I recommend you to install it into your computer using the DVDs where Final Cut Pro came.
If you have to transfer more data, you should consider the option of using Migration Assistant. Read > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4889

  • How can I transfer my education adobe software from my imac to my macbook pro

I have transfered the software but it won't except the serial number.  I had the software originally on my 13"macbook pro and my imac.  Now Im getting rid of my imac moving software to my new 15" macbook pro.
So I will have 2 macbook pros, for different reasons but need software on both but not on my imac.
When i go to register the software it won't except the serial number.
    Ideas please?

To transfer any Adobe software you have to make sure it is deactivated on your old computer.
If the old license is deactivated but still won't accept the serial number on the new system, then you'd have to contact Adobe customer support in your region to resolve that, they're really the only ones who have the power to fix any licensing issues.

  • How do I download previous music purchases from the Cloud to my Macbook Pro?

I recently purchased my first Apple computer, but have been a longtime iPod user, and as of this past February an iPhone user. So upon getting my new Macbook Pro, I of course began to sync what songs I had purchased from iTunes on my old Windows computers, and iPod and iPhone, that were supposed to be stored in the Cloud. Well, as I've been importing all the physical CD's i own, I began to notice that some of my iTunes purchases hadnt downloaded from the Cloud. So now I've gone through my iPod to see what songs are missing and which aren't. I know now that I am missing two full albums, as well as what I think is another 25+ single songs I've downloaded, and unfortuantely I cannot figure out how to retrieve them for the life of me.  I'm very frustrated that all my purchases didnt show up from the Cloud in the first place! Any help?
