You can't without a third party app. If you didn't purchase the Music with your Apple ID or if the music was imported from CD's on your friends iTunes library, syncing will not work ....nor will transferring purchases.

How can I transfer apps from one iTunes library to another? My daughter has an iTouch, and I was managing it through my library. I have created an iTunes account for her, with a new iTouch, and would like to move the apps over. I tried to sync the old iTouch to the new library and it said it was already set up to sync with a different library. What is the best way to do this?

You can transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
To make the new computer the syncing computer you have to:
- Transfer iTunes purchases lIke I described above
- Make a backup of the iPod on that computer by connecting the iPod and then right-clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting Back Up.
- Restore the iPOd from that backup
She will have to continue to use your iTunes ID to update the apps prchased with your account. To use her account she will have to log into the computer with her account (iTunes>Store) and change the sign in on the iPod by going to Settings>Store.

as already mentioned, use File->transfer purchases to copy your apps and bought media to your computer, or right click on the device in the device list and choose "transfer purchases"

You can deauthorise all 5 at once, then reauthorize the one you want.

You need to log into iTunes on the computer you want to deauthorise. Otherwise, contact contact iTunes Store support to see if they can help.

Thanks for the reply, but not actually sure how to sync a second iPod with the library of the first, as I thought it would not recognise a new iPod for copyright reasons.
Also, the files are in a location on the pc but I had to do lots of formatting amendments in iTunes as most of the stuff was on mp3 files and the formatting was all over the place. I did not want to loose any of the work by simply asking the new iPod to look at the original file and would rather copy en masse from one device to another.

When I go into the music tab on itunes it says it will delete everything on the Ipod and replace it with the few songs in the new library. It still shows me the songs on my ipod in the "on this ipod" tab but I dont know how to sync it

The ipod is not a storage/backup device. The sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.
You may be able to purchase a third party program to get the music - not supported by Apple.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Us eyour backup copy to move everything to the new computer.

Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from old computer to new computer.

Connect the iPod to your computer, launch iTunes. From the File menu (top in the screen) click File / Transfer purchases from my iPod..
