How to transfer photo albums and edits done on iPad to iPhoto on Mac?

I created a photo album on my iPad. I had over 1000 pictures, and out of that I created a selection of 100. I edited and enhanced these 100. When I import the photos to the mac, I open iPhoto and get all the pictures imported. I can find all the individual pictures on iPhoto on the Mac. However the photo album and all the different edits done on the iPad are missing. Does anyone know how to make this transfer? Thanks!

I have created a photo album on iOs 5 with selected pictures of the Photostream features, now I'd like to sync back this album to Aperture 3.2.2 or iPhoto on the Mac, so I can share them with Facebook or MobileMe.
Is there a way to do that?

Thanks Fred, but the only photos that appear in Apertureare the ons of the iPad photo roll, not the Photo Albums created from the Photostream.
Hence, once pictures are in an album which was created directly on the iPad, I do not see any option to sync it back to Aperture or iPhoto. As the pictures are from Photostream, I do not see options in the photo album to save them back to the photo roll.
I created the album on the go, because, I was travelling without my computer and thought it would be great to make on the iPad the picture selections of the photos that I had put on my computer but did not have time to classify. I did the selection of photos, put them all in an album. There is no way to share back these 300 pics to Facebook or Mobileme or Flickr directly from the iPad, so I want to bring them back to my MAcbookPro to do it, but i can't find a way to transfer the album to the computer, and now, I have to do the selection again... Seems like Time wasted...

I have made a photo album using pictures from the camera roll on my iphone and added them to to a new folder on my iphone, but when i have connected the phone to my macbook pro there is no option to copy this new album to i photo or anywhere else on the laptop. Just seems a bit pointless taking time to do this when it can only be seen on my phone and cant be moved to my macbook pro, so cant then be moved to my i pad and i pod touch.

If you are using the photos app to create albums on the iPad - those albums will not transfer to the PC.
Those albums do not actually contain the photos or copies of the photos. They merely have a pointer to the original photo in the photos app. The albums created in the photos app are for local photo organization on the iPad only.

Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
Click on the "Sync Photos From" heading and select the folder from which you want to sync your photos. Usually on a Mac it would be iPhoto
Click on all of the albums, events, faces, etc that you want to include in the sync.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

How to transfer selected apps and movies to new iPad?

I just received my iPad 3, and I would like to transfer some, but not all, of my apps and videos from my iPad 1.
I'm pretty confused as to the meaning of the Apps tab in iTunes. There is a list of apps to the left. Is this a list of all the apps that are "stored" in iTunes, whether or not they are on my iPad (or iPhone)? As far as I can tell, all those that are checked are also on my iPad. But there are some that are unchecked that are on my iPad.
Then there are "screenshots" of the pages of an iPad to the right. Generally, the layout of the apps on these screens match those on my iPad, but there is one app on the screenshot that's not on my iPad.
If I were to plug my new iPad in now and restore from this backup, what apps would move to the new iPad? How can I control those? Basically I would like to delete a lot of unsued apps from my iPad without losing them forever.

The apps that have checkmarks next to the names are the apps that are selected to sync.
Those screenshots that you see are all of the home screens on the iPad and why you see an app on the screenshot that is not on the iPad does not make sense. If you see it on one of those screenshots - it should be on the iPad.
Anyway - simply select all of the items that you want to sync to the new iPad. Click on the boxes next to the names to select them. Deselect apps the same way - click on the boxes to remove the checkmarks.
You can pick and choose all of the content in each tab in iTunes - apps, music, photos. books - whatever - you can control what it syncs by selecting and selecting. Videos included. All of these apps that have checkmarks next the boxes will sync to my iPad.
This is how you select the movies that you want to sync.
All of the content that is checked in iTunes is what would sync - but that is not what would be restored from the backup. The backup contains all of your app data and app settings, the device settings, safari history and bookmarks, contacts, calendar entries, camera roll - and so on. The backup does not contain your media - you still have to sync that from iTunes.

Try this one and see if it helps:
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes, Sync and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

How to transfer iPhone contacts and calendar into new iPad 2?

I have owned my 3Gs phone for about a year. I have manually entered contact and calendar data into it.
I do not sync with outlook, gmail or other services. I have contacts on those services, but I do not want to merge everything together. Now I have a new iPad, and I need to get my contacts and calendar duplicated into my iPad.
I don't want to get a MobileMe account.
I have googled around and found some solutions, but I have not been able to get any to work. I have successfully installed a subset of my iPhone apps on the iPad using iTunes.
So, how do I do this?
I have tried the various settings on the INFO tab when my iPhone/iPad is connected to the computer (windows), but can't seem to find any settings that allow transfer between devices.
If I make a change on one device, how do I get it to the other device?
I wish I could see the contacts and appointments like I do the apps and media for selection and transfer.
There must be a way, how?

It is easy to move the phone stuff to the iPad. Just restore the iPad for the backup of the iPhone. However, I know of no way to keep them in sync between the iPhone and the iPad in the future since you do not want to use/purchase MobileMe or sync with another program like Outlook or Google stuff.

I can not find a step by step instruction on transferring photos "from" computer to my iPad air. I had it working at one point. So I know it is possible.
I find instruction that only get me part way . . like make sure you have latest update,, then follow instruction. Never see any instruction. I do not care to have iCloud Photo Sharing. I can take pictures with iPad and get them uploaded to my pc. I have jpeg photos on pc that I would like to take with me on my iPad. Like I said I did get 1 pic. at one time from pc to ipad.

Connect the iPad to your computer and select it in your computer's iTunes, and on the left-hand side of the iTunes screen select its Photos tab (this screenshot is from a Mac, it should be similar on a PC) :
You should then be able to use the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select the photos that you want to copy from your computer to the iPad's Photos app.
You will have to select and sync all the photos that you want from your PC together in one go - synced photos can't be deleted directly in the Photos app, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next sync.

If you have a first Generation iPad then you cannot update beyond iOS 5.1.1
However you may be able to get compatible versoins of the Apps. To do so, you will have to download the App to iTunes on a computer or another device that does support the App using the same Apple Id you have on your iPad.
With that done you can follow these instructions from your iPad to get a compatible version:

I am trying to make photo albums and different camera rolls for the ipad and iphone. can anyone tell me how to do that?

I don't think you can in the native iPad Photos app. It's just where all photos save in camera roll. If I sync folders with pic from my MacBook, it syncs as a separate album in Photos, but I can't move pics between them. I've actually just downloaded an app that allows for sorting photos by creating links to the photos to place them in the folders you create--it does not make duplicates of the photos to do this, so no worries of using up space.
Anyway, the app is Best Album +transfer. Right now on sale for 99€ which was why I decided to get it.

Assuming you are using iTunes 11.1:
Connect your iPhone to your computer.
In iTunes towards the upper right of your screen you will see the name of your iPhone. Click on it (not the eject symbol.
This will open a series of windows with tabs.
Select the tab for photos.
Untick the ones you do not want on your iPhone and at the bottom right click on Apply.
They will be removed.
