How to transfer photos from photo library to mac

I transferred photos from my first computer to my iphone using itunes, now that computer is dead and i need to transfer photos from those folders into my second mac. I can locate only the pics in camera roll and cannot sync other pictures from iphone. These pics are in iphone and i cannot transfer them. PLs help

You can only transfer Camera Roll photos to the computer. The Photo Library photos should have been transfered from the computer to the phone. Why aren't they still on your computer?
The only way to get them off, without jailbreaking, is to download a program that lets you pull stuff off the phone. These usually cost $20-30. I've never used one, so I wouldn't know what one to suggest. But here is an example: http://www.ipodrobot.com/ You can find a bunch of different ones. Also realize that these photos have been optimized for the iphone and they might not be in full resolution when you get them back.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Transfer photo library between macs

I am trying to move a large photo library(34 GB) from my macbook air to iMac. Any ideas what is the most efficient way? I have got the Time Machine backing up both. I tried a few times to airdrop the library but 'transfer failed'. I have tried to access macbook air on iMac using time capsule but when I click on macbook disk, it says 'resource temporarily unavailable' . So frustrating..

What Cell phone do you have? I have the LG Lucid phone which is an android phone and just use the usb cable to transfer the files. I also have dropbox that I will use from time to time as well. I have to set the connectivity setting to Mass Storage to be able to transfer files and photos. The media sync option only works if you have Windows. When I first plug the phone in, Mac will tell me that the device is not compatible and will ask if I want to eject or ignore it. When the phone is first plugged in, it tries to run as an installer so Mac doesn't like it. Once I ignore it, the phone then becomes a storage device and will show both the internal and the external SD card on my desktop. I can then use the standard copy and paste methods to move files from the phone to the drive or you can use iPhoto or other photo progams to copy them. I have picassa on the system that I use to get photos.

iTunes only plays the video file formats supported by Quicktime. If you are working with files from Windows Media Player or Realplayer, you will need to use one of the players recomended for those media formats for the Mac. I would recomend checking the websites for the maker of those software for their recomendations.

EDIT: iTunes for Windows can convert WMA files that are not encrypted with DRM (Digital Rights Management) software. You might want to consider adding them to iTunes on a Windows-based PC, and the copying the resulting files over.

How do I transfer IPhoto Library and/or albums onto External Hard Drive? I have been selecting photos and re-creating Albums as Folders. But I want to delete photos from my MacBook Air and want all the content and information transferred with the photos, which is not currently happening. I downloaded a free trial of a program that promises to do this transfer but cannot find it/use it. Help!

Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

Hi everyone, I just got my iPod this weekend for my birthday. My friend told me to go to "Lime Wire" to get free songs, so I did and the songs went to my iTunes page.
However, for some reason when I tried to download all the songs to my iPod, only one song popped on my iPod. (Weird)
Anyway, how do you get the songs from the iTunes library
to download to the iPod. What am I doing wrong?!

Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.

I did manage to solve problem of music transfer iPad mini-PC, however I didn't succeed in approaching iTunes Store and there is nothing in the manual about it.
When I open application I have iTunes U interface and cannot move anywhere but close app. I did try to re -enter pass and ID in iTunes Store app settings but nothing changed.
Does anyone have any idea what to do in order to have approach to ITunes Store.

I just bought MacBookPros and iPads for my small business. After many many hours, i was ensured that the iCloud/Mac combo was the solution for me. It has turned out to be extremely difficulat migrating from PC/Outlook.
I will not get in to details now, but after 27 hours, we have finally been able to migrate our files and emails over. However, my sub-folders in my Outlook Inbox that i have created over the years did not migrate over. All my emails in my inbox did, but not the subfolders. How can i transfer those over from my PC/Outlook to my Mac/Mail?

Looking at other posts (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2664208?start=60&tstart=0) this is what I found to be a helpful answer for many:
This is by far the easiest and risk-free way to do this that I found. I've made a few switches in the past 12 months after changing from Windows, thinking Outlook would be the best option and now regretting it I wanted to change back. No need to buy add-ons or software, apply for gmail or anything else outside of your Mac.
Drag all your mail folders from Outlook onto your desktop and then you can bulk select them through the Import Mailbox option in the File menu in Mail.

How to transfer playlists from windows to a Mac

My Windows PC recently crashed and I bought a Mac as a replacement (great purchase). I have copied my Itunes music library to the Mac (from a backup) successfully but cannot restore my playlists. I tried plugging in my ipod & ipad to export/import the playlists but when I import the playlist is says that certain songs are missing and what appears in the copied playlist are some very different songs from the original playlist. Do you have the .xml and itunes library files from your old computer in the itunes folder ?? use those to replace the new ones and you should be just fine.
