How to transfer photos in iPhoto to flash drive?

How do I transfer photos in iphoto streaming to flash drive  (Mavericks)?

If by streaming you mean My Photo Stream make sure you have the iCloud preferences in iPhoto set to import the MPS photos into the library as shown in this screenshot:
If it's not set already you'll need to select the photos in the photo stream and import them yourself by right clicking and selecting "Import into library" from the contextual menu.
Then export the photos you want to a folder on the desktop according the the directions in the user tip: Exporting From iPhoto.
When the export is complete drag the folder onto the flash drive.

  • Transfer photos from computer to flash drive

I would like to transfer photos from computer to flash drive so I can view them on Smart TV. Only option on computer is to burn to CD or DVD.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

I do not see any info on the Windows version or PC model, so here are generic instructions.
    1) assuming the flash drive is seen when opening "my computer" or "computer" double click on the flash drive - it should open another window showing what, if anything is on the flash drive.  Leaving that window open, now find the pictures you wish to copy or move and highlight them by clicking each one or a group (select more than one by holding the control key down while clicking in the photos)  Now right click on one of the selected photos and then pick "copy" or and then right click on the open flash drive windows, right click "paste"
    OR
left click and hold on one of the photos and drag the group highlighted into the open flash drive window, release the left click.

  • How to transfer an aperture album to flash drive and maintain order

how to transfer an aperture album to flash drive and maintain the picture order?

Use the command "File > Export" to write the files to the flash drive and use a file naming preset that includes a number, like "Custom Name with Index".
The sequential filename will ensure, that the files are sorted in the Finder in the same order.

  • How do i save a photo from iPhoto onto flash drive using new lion software

Trying to save a photo in iphoto (using new lion software on my mac) to a flash drive.  There is no save button and can no longer just drag the photo into the drive.  Any ideas.

You can select the thumbnail and type Command+C to copy it.  Then click on the Desktop and type Command+V to paste it.  That will get you the latest version of the photo in iPhoto.
However, you should be able to drag the photo to the desktop.  Launch iPhoto with the Option and Command keys held down and rebuilt the library with the first and last options selected.
If that doesn't do the trick use Disk Utility to repair disk permissions.

  • How to transfer photos from iPhoto to external hard drive?, How to transfer photos from iPhoto to external hard drive?

    Hello folks
My start up disk is full and I've been advised to delete some items
from my computer. I have too much pix/videos. How do I transfer them
from iphoto to an external HD?
    Thanks

just move your iPhoto library to the extrnal drive being sure it is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) -
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

  • How to transfer photos from iPhoto 8.1.2 to aperture

I have all my photos in iPhoto 8.1.2 and I just installed Aperture on my Mac, but it keeps asking me to update my iPhoto to the newest version.  I tried several times to update iPhoto with no luck.  Any suggestions??  Thanks
    Khaled

I do not use Aperature but I believe it has the capability to import from iPhoto - if you upgrade to iPhoto 9.3 you can share your library between iPHoto and APerature 3.3

  • How to transfer photo files from Iomega Zip Drive cassette to my iMac?

    1 GHz PowerPC G4
    768 MB DDR SDRAM
    external hard disk 500 GB
    external hard disk 125 GB
Many years ago I stored/copied my photos onto a Iomega Zip Drive cassette. Subsequently I lost everything in a computer malfunction which Apple Store could not fix; they ultimately replaced my computer. The computer that I was using when I used the Iomega Zip Drive was a Mac Quadra, not an iMac. Unfortunately, I had not backed up anything so the only thing that I have from the time prior to the malfunction is what I have stored on these Zip Drive cassettes and on the hard drive of the iMac that malfunctioned and was replaced with a new iMac. The photos that I really want to get are those of my husband who has since passed away.
It has been so long that I used them or even looked at them that now I don't know how to get those photos onto my present iMac (and I am assuming that it is possible).
Would you be so kind as to tell me what to do to transfer my photos from the Iomega Zip Drive cassette? Thank you very much.

Lorna, I'm sorry to hear of your loss.
The easiest thing to do is to purchase an External USB Zip drive (link). As ZIP disks are now legacy technology ebay has a great many available which means they are pretty low cost. Simply connect the drive and insert the disk. The disk will mount on to the desktop.
Alternatively you could see if a local Internet café still has such as drive available and they will be able to burn the contents to CD for a few dollars.
    Hope that helps.

  • How to transfer photos from iphoto 09 on iMac to iphoto on Mac Book Pro

This is my first posting as I have tried unsuccessfully to find an answer to my query in the many answers to questions already posed.
I have an iMac and recently my girlfriend bought a Mac Book Pro. Whilst I have managed to transfer my music library to her Mac Book Pro using the new sharing facility in the latest version of iTunes, I have been unable to transfer the photos which I have on my Mac in iphoto 09.
Any help, advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in anticipation of your assistance.
    Best regards
EDIT: Just realised that I have posted this in iPhoto 08 instead of iPhoto 09 - I hope someone can still help!

Many thanks for your reply Terence
I understand what you mean, but would you be so kind as to explain how I should connect the machines. At first, I thought that some form of double ended USB may do it, but when I spoke to someone at work, they suggested a cross over ethernet cable.
    Your advice would be appreciated.
    Thank you once again

  • How to transfer Photo Library to external hard drive?

How do I transfer IPhoto Library and/or albums onto External Hard Drive? I have been selecting photos and re-creating Albums as Folders. But I want to delete photos from my MacBook Air and want all the content and information transferred with the photos, which is not currently happening. I downloaded a free trial of a program that promises to do this transfer but cannot find it/use it. Help!

Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
    Regards
