How to transfer pictures from ipod to computer?

Hey, I've just read your answer regarding Photos folder in an G5 iPod, I hope you can help, 'cos you know it well! I imported photos from my PC to this folder, and then deleted them out. The problem occured when I realized that I might have also deleted some default running files in the Photos folder. Since then, I have met the error message "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable" whenever I opened the Folder. I'm unable to import photos now. Would you possibly show me how to fix it? Thanks a lot,

  • How to transfer music from iPod to computer

I am trying to update my 4th generation ipod touch to iOS 6.0.1 but I have all of my music backed up on another computer. How do I transfer the music from my ipod to the second computer so i do not lose the music
                                     thanks

    It's not that straightforward.
If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
For all other non purchased music (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

  • How to transfer Music from iPod to Computer/Windows/Mac

I want to transfer iPod music to my mac, because iPod memory is not enought to use, whether I need a tool to help me to transfer music from iPod to my mac, because apple devices is not allowed to direct transfer music from ipod to mac, whether you have some good idea? Please help me!!!thanks!

1.The first thing you want to do is connect your iPod to your computer via the white USB cable.
2.After your iPod is connected, open My Computer, or just Computer from the start menu and look for the iPod drive. It should be in the (F:drive. You will see the iPod logo in the listing of disk drives.
3.If you are using Windows 7: Open the iPod drive and click on ORGANIZE. Then folder and search options tab. Then View and Show hidden files and folders.
If you are using Windows XP, open the iPod drive and click tools then Folder options then View tab then click show hidden files and folder. Finally click Apply.
4.Now you should have a new folder called ipod_control. Open that folder up and you should see the following: Calendar, Contacts, ipod_control, notes, photos, ect. If you are trying to save all of your music then the ipod_control folder is the only one you need to worry about.
5.Open the ipod_control folder then open the music folder. Copy each one of those folders (should look similar to these: F00, F01 ...) onto your computer. You can do this by creating a new folder on your desktop and dragging the files into the folder.
6.Open iTunes and insert the new folder you created on your computer's desktop into: library ---> Music
You can now transfer music from your iPod to this new computer with out losing all of your music.
    Hope it can help you.

    Do you have a PC?
This may have changed by now but when I went to the Apple store about a year ago I heard one of the Geniuses/Genii(??) talking to someone about how for some reason you can't sync photos from an i device to a Windows PC using iTunes
you can get around this by emailing the photos to yourself and then opening them up on the computer, though

  • How can I transfer pictures from iPod to computer

I was hoping for some help with a question I have about my iPod. I have pictures on my iPod that I would like to delete off of it, but I no longer have the pictures in iPhoto. I also have a group of photos I would like to save back to my computer from the iPod. Is this possible to pick and choose which photos I'd like to save back to the computer and then also delete other ones? I would really appreciate any help that you can offer. Thank you.

  • How to transfer photos from iPod to computer?

I just re-installed my computer and now I need to transfer those photos in my iPod back to my computer. How can I do that? Please let me know. Thanks.

The only way that I am awear of is to buy a transfer program (sorry, I'm not fermiliar with any specific names) that alow you to get them off your ipod. You would have had to put the pictures on your ipod as a remouvable drive before you resetted your computer. I understand this post didn't really help you, sry.

  • How to transfer pictures from ipod classic to my new imac

Hello , I am a bit of a MAC novice so be gentle! (newest imac with most up to date itunes and mountain lion)
I have an Ipod classic with almost 600 pictures on that I wish to transfer to my new IMAC yet I cannot find an easy way to do this short of buying some extra software. I would appreciate any solutions.

I think iPhoto should see them, and the Image Capture utility that came with your Mac will also see pictures on cameras and iPods/iPhones/iPads. Once the pictures are listed in Image Capture, you can drag them to any folder on your computer.

  • Transfer Pictures from Ipod to Computer

Long story short, I went to Europe this summer and decided to use my ipod as an external hard drive for my camera. After connecting my Canon camera to my ipod, the pictures began to download, but I was unable to see the pictures. Assuming that they were properly downloaded, I deleted them from my camera. Now that I am back home, I still cannot find my pictures, even after updating my ipod. All I can find are two roll numbers with 0kb in each of them, and I am a little panicked that I lost my pictures. Please let me know if I should look elsewhere or if my pics are gone for good!

What do you mean by "updating" your iPod. Adding songs to it? or did you do an Update in iTunes and changed the software on it?
If the latter, your pictures are probably gone. You can enable disk use on your iPod and use Windows Explorer to search your iPod hard drive for your photo extension (.jpg, etc). If they aren't there you can send it to a data recovery firm, but the cost would be very steep.

How to transfer pictures from computer ( Windows 7) to iPad with Retina display ?

Note that, if you use iTunes to sync photos onto the iPad, you'll need to use iTunes to take them off.
if you don't have a lot and want to keep deletability, you may want to consider mailing them to yourself, or uploading them to something like dropbox, then downloading them (via the dropbox app) to your iPad.
there are also several photo syncing apps out there that may suit your needs. Afraid I don't have any to recommend. But syncing via iTunes isn't the only way to get photos onto your iPad..it's just the  built in way

See here for photos taken with the iPod: iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
If these were photos that you synced to the device via iTunes, then you'll need to download third party software to help get them off your iPod.

Some of the information below has subsequently appeared in a document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • How to transfer files from ipod nano to itunes

how do I transfer files from my ipod nano (5th gen) to a new computer.  All old files on old computer gone.
    Thanks

You can only transfer music bought from the iTunes store in both directions, i.e. computer to iPod and iPod to computer.  Other music that you've ripped from CDs you own or that you've downloaded from somewhere other than the iTunes store can only be transferred in one direction, i.e. computer to iPod.  You cannot transfer it from iPod to computer.
That said, there is however third party software that you can buy that will transfer files from the iPod to the computer.  Google will help you on that.  Also read this article:
