How to transfer ps - brushes/fonts/patterns etc

Hi
My mac screen got damaged so got new mbp
Have installed Photoshop 5 etc from discs
However, all my photoshop everythings, the patterns I use, the brushes I have made, actions i've downloaded, shapes, fonts, & knoll factory filter they are all still on my broken laptop
How do I transfer them????? Please.
I do have an external hd, time machine, but was gonna leave that with old mbp tho could use it tho not plugged it in to new 1, not sure on that.
Ideally would prefer to burn my things to cd from 1 & transfer. Is that possible?
I did try this with "Presets" section, I got nothing extra, but don't think I damaged anything. Have trawlled google.

Well, I may have a MacBook on the way, but my machines are Windows 7 based. So I am not familiar with how exactly to transfer stuff using their file system If you do know the names of your custom filters, you can also re-download them as well. And as long as you
can clip a monitor to it, then your files are still there and you have the hope of eventually getting it all moved and/or backed up and recovering all your custom filters. Just take your time.
That's as good as I can do for now. I hope the Mac experts here can give better advice

User data is stored in the profile folder, there are some add-ons and utilities that can help you copy the profile folder from one computer to another. Can i install SL on external usb drive & how to transfer over existing HDD

I have a MBP with around 200Gb used on a 500GB hdd ( installed after warantee ran out ). The MBP has been working fine for a year or so now but when i tried installing Snow Leopard i found the HDD was not setup as GUID which stopped the installation.
I thought i would install SL on an external USB drive which had been setup as GUID but after 4 attempts this failed as well for some unknown reason.
What i would like to know is,
1. if possible, how to transfer my data and settings etc to the external hdd from my current hdd inside the laptop.
2. How to set up boot camp ( i have a few ms programs that run erratically in mac fusion or parallels)
Can anyone help with this?

Hi Harrison,
is this a firewire drive? Be aware that you cannot boot from a USB drive: Don't start up from an external USB device.
Also make sure your drive's firmware is up to date.

How to change font/ font color etc in a graphic object using JCombobox?

My program im writing recently is a small tiny application which can change fonts, font sizes, font colors and background color of the graphics object containing some strings. Im planning to use Jcomboboxes for all those 4 ideas in implementing those functions. Somehow it doesnt work! Any help would be grateful.
So currently what ive done so far is that: Im using two classes to implement the whole program. One class is the main class which contains the GUI with its components (Jcomboboxes etc..) and the other class is a class extending JPanel which does all the drawing. Therefore it contains a graphics object in that class which draws the string. However what i want it to do is using jcombobox which should contain alit of all fonts available/ font sizes/ colors etc. When i scroll through the lists and click the one item i want - the graphics object properties (font sizes/ color etc) should change as a result.
What ive gt so far is implemented the jcomboboxes in place. Problem is i cant get the font to change once selecting an item form it.
Another problem is that to set the color of font - i need to use it with a graphics object in the paintcomponent method. In this case i dnt want to create several diff paint.. method with different property settings (font/ size/ color)
Below is my code; perhaps you'll understand more looking at code.

My old PC is about to die. How do I transfer all my data, apps etc to a new PC

I have been backing up my iPhone and also iPad2 on an old Windows PC which is soon to die - it seems. I would like to transfer all data,apps, contact, etc to my new Mac but cannot sync via iTunes as all existing apps will be deleted. There must be a way to transfer from one PC to another and then sync with eth new one, but how please??

The SyncToy tip will help to get your current library archived to an external drive so that you can migrate it from the PC to the Mac. However you should not in general attempt to merge two different library folders with this tool. Where two files have the same relative path within the two synced folders the newest will overwrite the oldest. In the case of your library database files this might have unintended consequences. Instead move the existing iTunes folder on the Mac out of the way, restore the migrated library from the PC into your profile's music folder so that it becomes the default library, then import any additional content from the media folder within the previously moved library.

How do I have my font level set at same number all the time---ex 24 or 18?

Ask your Buddy if he is using iChat to go to the Video Menu and open the Connection Doctor during a Chat and to tell you the Bitrate they see for you, the framerate (if there is one) and the green bar (again if there is or is not) of the incoming feed in the percentage bars.

Yes, you pretty much just drag and drop or copy and paste depending on which way you like better. It is pretty much like connecting an external hard drive. Just find the files you want and copy them over to your other computer.
This is one of my favorite features from Macs. It's very simple to do and because it's Firewire even large files transfer over very quickly.

The camera roll is not part of the sync process at all.
You should be importing these photos to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera. Youc an organize them on your computer and sync the to the iphone if you wish.
The photos sync from the computer to the iphone is one way.
The iphone mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced.

Two ways:
1. File -> Export. Set the Kind to Jpeg or Tiff
Check the boxes at 'Location Information' and 'Titles and Keyword'
The information is written to the iptc and Exif metadata on the file.
2. Use iPhoto Library Manager This will get all of the information plus faces and edit history

A USB thumb drive is best, install the free ClamXav to run a scan on it first.
Windows malware doesn't affect a Mac, but you could have weird issues or transfer them to another PC user.
