How to transfer pse 5 to new computer

Hi,
Sorry if my question is very basic, but I honestly don't have much of a clue about how to do this properly.
I have PSE 5 and just went from one computer (XP) to Windows 7.  I put all my files on an external hard drive and the PSE is in a folder on that drive.
I don't know where to go from there-which file do I install or can I just transfer the whole file over to my desktop?  Will that work?
Do I need to download the patch for PSE 5 to have it work in Windows 7?
Thank you so much for helping!

That is what I did..copied the folder.  I bought the
program as a download on the Adobe site and don't have a CD for it-I do have my serial number.  Since I live overseas I could only
order it online at the time.
So do I just launch the installer that is in the folder?  What happens to all the other files?
I really apologize for my lack of knowledge in this-this whole transferring to a new computer is beyond my understanding right now.
Thanks!

  • How to transfer license to new computer?

Hi. I have Photoshop Elements 7 and Adobe Premiere Elements 7 installed on my computer. I have bought a new computer. I won't be using the programs on my old one.
My question is how to transfer the license from the old computer to the new one? Any advice is much appreciated.
    Angel

    Angel,
You just need to uninstall PSE7 and PRE 7 from your old computer, this will delete the licensing information from the machine and then use the same serial keys to install PSE and PRE on your new machine. Works for me.

  • HOw to transfer Itunes to new computer so that existing Ipods linked to that account are recognized on new PC

Old PC Windows XP. Now Purchasing a new PC(Windows 7). Will need to transfer existing Itunes account/music/apps to the new PC. Once done, will existing Ipods be recognized on the new PC so that syncing and transfers are not an issue. I know that when I connect  our Ipods to our second PC Iwe have limited options when it comes to syncing/transferring.

As long as you are syncing to the same library you were before then it should be a relatively seamless transition.  To move the entire library:
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

  • HT3819 computers in 2 different countries, how to transfer library to new computer

Hi does anyone know if it is possible to transfer my library from a computer in Australia to my new computer in Uk??

    Hi...
Purchases made from one country cannot be used in another.
And be aware for iTunes purchases, your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."

  • How to transfer Elements to new computer

I bought a new computer because the old one would not handle Elements in a speedy enough fashion after I upgraded to Elements 11.  I don't have an installation disc, but got the program as a download directly from Adobe.  If I copy the files from the old computer to the new, will I still have full functionality?  Or do I need Adobe to send me a new download?

You need to keep your download for situations like this. You can either download the trial and enter your serial number into it, or go to the main page of adobe.com, look for My Adobe, and you should still have a download link in your adobe store account. Either way, this time save the .zip or .dmg for future reference.

  • How to transfer music to new computer

My daughter wants to transfer all her music from an old macbook to her new MBP in college. She has already started a new iTunes library on the new laptop but it doesn't have much in it yet. She wants to consolidate all the content on the old MB into her MBP.

She could use her back up copy to do this. If she doesn't keep a back up, she needs to, as hard drives can and do fail.
You can transfer the files via migration assistant (comes with every mac). She can copy songs to a CD, DVD, flash drive, external drive, ipod, etc.
Go to the top of this page, click Support, type "move itunes library" or similar into the search support bar. You will get several helpful articles.

  • HT1727 how do I authorize a new computer

How do I authorize a new computer so that I can transfer my downloads?

    Authorization and Deauthorization
Macs:  iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • HT1727 how do i authorise a new computer

How do i authorise a new computer. i am trying to transfer songs for my kids

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:
