How to transfer purchased apps from my old iPhone to my new iPhone?

I have purchased some apps on an old iPhone 2G, but have purchased a iPhone 3G now. I assume I won't have to pay for those apps twice? Does anyone know how i can get them installed on my new phone? (haven't got the phone yet, just want to be prepaired)

All apps purchased and downloaded via iTunes on your computer, or the same with your iPhone should be available in your iTunes library.
When syncing the iPhone 3G with iTunes, you select the applications that you want installed on your iPhone 3G under the Applications tab for your iPhone sync preferences. No different from selecting the iTunes content that you want transferred to the iPhone.

    Hello,
I purchased some college apps on my mac book and I need to this programs on my iPhone too.I read all discussions about that and did everything but not success about that.My iTunes doesnt see the purchase programs on my computer.
    Thank You,

You have to log into iPhone App Store and purchase the iPhone version of the apps. Mac apps only run on Macs, iOS apps only run on iPhone/iPads/iPods.

  • How do I transfer my purchased apps from my old ipad to my new ipad?  All with the same Apple ID and Itunes account.

I just purchased a new Ipad with 4G yesterday and I am trying to transfer my purchased apps from my old Ipad to the new one.  We have one Apple ID and one Itunes account that we are using.

Connect the old iPad to your computer, launch iTunes and then sync the iPad. A backup will be created when you sync the iPad and your purchased apps should transfer into your iTunes library on the computer. Just to be safe - manually transfer the purchases as well.
After the sync completes - right click on the iPad name on the left side under "Devices" and select - Transfer Purchases. Let the process complete - and just because I am OCD - I would sync one last time. Eject the iPad and quit iTunes.
Then connect your new iPad to the computer and launch iTunes again. You will be given the opportunity to set up as new or to restore from the backup of the old iPad. Choose backup from the iPad - let the process complete - and then follow that with a sync with iTunes to put all of the content that was on the old iPad onto the new one.

how do i transfer my apps from an old iphone to a new one

If you need to keep the app data, i would suggest making an icloud backup, then restoring from that backup onto the new phone
if you don't need to app data, you can transfer the purchases to itunes on a computer and sync them to your new phone, or you can just go on your new phone to app store > updates > purchased > then click the clouds next to each app to download them to the phone

  • How do I move apps from an old mac to a new one

I am purchasing a new Macbook Pro after having my old one for six years. I have numerous apps that I have purchased and downloaded over the years. I don't want to loose them and really don't want to have to purchase them again. Can I and how can I move apps from my old Mac to my new one?

Be sure you back your current system up BEFORE you do anything. If you use Time Machine, migration assistant works well.

  • How do I migrate apps from an old iphone if I didn't back them up

How do I migrate apps from an old iphone if I didn't back them up?
I created a backup of my iphone 5s just before activating my iphone6.  But I chose not to back up the apps to my computer because at the moment I was thinking of my MBA's hard disk space.  Now that Im restoring the backup to my new phone, I get an itunes message saying 64 apps were not installed on my phone because the apps could not be found.
The phone is still restoring photos.  What can I do to get those apps on my phone without having to re-install them manually?

Ok, I have my old iphone5s and my new iphone6.
I have apps on my iphone5s, i haven't erased anything.
One of those for example is iBank.
I connect the iphone5s to my mac, in iTunes I select the phone, click on Computer backup "This computer" and click on Backup now.  Itunes says its backing it up and finishes.
Now I unplug the iphone5s and plug in the iphone6.
It starts to sync but then gives me an error saying some apps were not installed:
The games I don't care about, but iBank I do, there is also a company erp app.  Those are the only 2 I really need to have back on my new phone.  No matter how many times i backup the old, it just won't find the apps.  Why?

    Hi, CelineAyu,
Here is the way about how to transfer apps from iPhone to iTunes.
    1. Connect your iPhone to the computer and open iTunes.
    2. Make sure that iTunes is authorized and you are logged into your account. From the top menu choose Store -> Sign In. To authorize the computer for use with your account select Store -> Authorize This Computer.
    3. From the left menu under DEVICES right-click on the name of your iPhone (Windows) or Control-click (Mac) to display the shortcut menu.

    Hi Guys

    Appreciate your help
    Thanks a million.

Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer.
Any attempts to sync the iDevice on the new computer without doing this will wipe the device and replace the existing contents with contents from the new, blank library.
iDevices are not storage devices, they are merely mirrors of the content in iTunes.

  • Help: on how to transfer my contacts from my old nokia to my new BB

i have my contacts in my PC in the file "contacts" but i dont know what to do with them and how to put them in my BB i tried to put them in outlook but i don;t know how to do that either...tomorrow my sim is about to be activated add i have none of my contacts inside the BB...i need help guys...

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
A few things to discuss...so bear with me...
    1) Contrary to how others do things, RIM does not provide a desktop PIM. Others force you to use their PIM and only their PIM. RIM provides a conduit software that functions as a bridge between your chosen PIM and the BB. See this KB for compatible PIM's:
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    2) RIM provides a Device Switch Wizard to migrate from another SmartPhone to a BB...but only for compatible devices. See this KB:
KB05459 How to use the Switch Device Wizard to switch from another smartphone to a BlackBerry smartphone
    3) If your old device is not compatible with the wizard, then RIM further provides the ability to import from ASCII and CSV files. See this KB:
KB04312 Create and synchronize with an ASCII export file
KB11194 How to import contacts from an CSV file to the BlackBerry device
Sorry, but RIM provides no assistance on how to get your data out of your old device and into the ASCII or CSV format...that's a function of your old device.
So, your choice is, IMO, to keep using a desktop PIM to manage your data (and you should, IMO)...then choose a compatible PIM (from above). Then, get your data out of your old device and into the desktop PIM. Then, configure the BB to sync with the PIM:
KB17022 How to configure organizer applications for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager
Good luck and let us know!

  • How to transfer purchased apps from iPhone to macbook

Hey guys, I'm trying to transfer a couple of apps that I purchased on my iPhone, and I'm trying to get them on my Macbook air without buying them agin. The problem is that I don't know if the method thats been provide for us on apple/support.com is actually working. The method I've been using is plugging my phone up to my macbook and opening iTunes, then going to file> devices> transfer purchases, but nothing seemed to happen. Is there a Specific place or file that the transferred purchases would have been sent to or am I doing it all wrong? P.S the apps that I'm trying to transfer is Garageband, Pages, Numbers, and Key Note.

That method will put the iOS versions of them into the computer's iTunes library. The Mac OS X versions need to be gotten from the Mac App Store.
Mac OS X and iOS are separate architectures.

  • How to transfer purchased tunes from ailing old hard disk?

Last year I installed the (then) latest iTunes
on a Windows XP computer. I bought some songs
from the iTunes Music Store. Then the hard disk got sick.
It can only be used for about 5--10 minutes at a time.
Then I have to power it down for a while.
The OS on that disk is corrupted, so I cannot boot
    and run from it.
I put a new HD in my Windows computer.
I can run Windows and programs from the new HD,
and read data from the old HD, but only for 5--10 minutes.
How do I get the old songs onto the new HD,
so that they can be played?
Is it simply a matter of copying them,
or do I have to do something else/additional
to deal with the protection mechanism(s)?
BTW, I have not yet installed iTunes on the new HD,
and I just bought my first iPod today.
    Thanks!
