How to transfer songs from old ipod mini to pc

I am trying to transfer my music library to my old iPod mini into my pc iTunes library. I havent ever connected this iPod to this pc. It hasnt been turned on in at least a year. The library is showing up in iTunes but not an option to transfer music to iTunes library. Any suggestions?

Clyde is right, You can't transfer music from iPod mini to PC.
But after I do some searching, I found a thread that indicate another way to transfer your music from iPod to computer.

I don't have a Touch or anything, but I'd imagine that you'd first need to connect your old ipod to your computer and get all your songs into your itunes from there. unless they're all already on your itunes. then just connect the iTouch and reload it.
of course...I don't know if it's possible to import all your songs from iPod to computer, I've never had to do that.

There are 2 ways to go about this. One is to use the manual method which is a little different depending on whether or not you use a Mac or a PC or you can opt to use a 3rd party software that can help you accomplish the task as well. The 1st and 2nd gen iPod shuffle can only be used with one iTunes library (not "account") at a time. Your Apple ID and password does not matter. (Later shuffles can be used with more than one iTunes library, IF it is set to use the Manually manage music option.)
So, if you sync it with a different iTunes library, the previous content will be replaced. You need to offload the existing content to your new computer's drive as the first step.
You cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store. However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links. (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to the iTunes library. After confirming all of your songs are there, sync your shuffle with that iTunes library.

On my old iPOD I've collected songs for various libraries (from friends and my two computers) but stupid iTUNES won't let me transfer my songs from this iPOD back to Library.
So, now when I've got a new a iPOD, I have to put all the songs there again, because iTUNES again won't let me transfer songs from one iPOD to another iPOD, when both are connected to the same computer!!
What should I do?
Apple as an innovator company should come up with an update to solve this easy issue.

Haven't you got your songs in iTunes? Just connect your new one and it will update from your Library.
However if you have deleted them from the PC, there are a number of third party utilities that can retrieve the files from your iPod.

Is what is on your old iPod on your computer? If so then simply connect the new iPod and sync the same library onto it.
If the stuff on the old iPod is NOT on your computer, first step is to move it from the old iPod to the computer...

There are two possibilities:
1) after putting music on your mini you've been erasing it from your computer
2) the music on your mini is still on the computer
If you erase music after putting it on your iPod, you'll need to download a program that copies songs from the iPod and puts it on the computer. Go to your favorite download site and search on the word iPod. You'll find several choices. Once you've downloaded and used the program go on to the next paragraph.
So your music is on the computer, it is cataloged by iTunes, and arranged in playlists. Great! If your music collection is small enough to fit on the nano, just plug the nano in and sync. If the collection is too big, you'll either want to manually manage it or create one or more playlists just for the nano and set iTunes to automatically sync just those playlists.

I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

Transfer songs from a ipod mini that was created from another account

I bought a used ipod mini that came loaded with over 400 songs which I would like to add to my itunes MAC account. The ipod mini is in Windows format and I understand that at sometime in the future I will have to restore the ipod mini in order to convert the device from Windows to MAC format thereby losing all the songs and data that are currently on the ipod. My itunes level is 7.6.1. I am running OS X 10.4.5.
Is there any way to transfer or upload the songs from this device to my IMAC itunes account even though the songs were purchased and downloaded to the device by the original owner using his Windows itunes account.
