How to Transport Extract Structure and datasource

Hi all!
I had recently made enhancements to 0CO_PC_PCP_01 datasource.When I transported the datasource and the Extract structure, I noticed that only the append structure has been transported. The datasource has not been transported.
Could some one tell me how to collect the datasource and the Appended extract structure and transport them.

Hi Jaya,
I had already tried this already. When I selected the dtasource and selected the transport button. I got the message, action successfully executed. When I checked in SE09, I see no transport. Unless it asks me for a transport request, I will not see it in SE09, right.

Data Source:
Data that logically belongs together is stored in the source system in the form of DataSources. A DataSource contains a number of fields in a flat structure used to transfer data into BW (Extract Structure).
Extract Structure:
In the extract structure, data from a DataSource is staged in the source system. The extract structure contains the amount of fields that are offered by an extractor in the source system for the data loading process.
You can edit and enhance DataSource extract structures in the source system. To do this, in the BW Administrator Workbench choose Goto à Modeling à Source Systems à Your Source System à Context Menu (right mouse click) à Customizing Extractors à Subsequent Processing of DataSources.
While, you are on the topic, you have one more structure.
Transfer Structure:
The transfer structure is the structure in which the data is transported from the source system into the SAP Business Information Warehouse.
It provides a selection of the extract structure fields for the source system.
It may be a good idea to look into a sample Business Content extractor to get a better understanding of how they are related.

Different number of fields in extract structure and Datasource

Hi All,
There is a data source 0FUNCT_LOC_ATTR, which are showing 16 fields in the datasource. But when i went into the extract structure, it shows 25 fields. Is it any kind of bug?

Hi MTi,
Thanks for your reply. I checked in ROOSOURCE and ROOSFIELD table and found that we activated the datasource somewhere in 14.08.2008 and the delivered version is in 18.11.2008. Now i reactivated the datasource in RSA5 and could see all the fields in RSA6.
Actaully we posted the issue to SAP and they have come back with the same reply what you have mentioned.

I was trying to transport datasource. But it ended with errors due to unavailability of extract structure. So plz guide me how I can assign Extract structure of datasource to request to transpport.
I tried to assign in RSA6 but here there is no option to extract structure to assing to request.

Hi,
Normally when you get the screen to select and hide the fileds and then save it, you will get the extract structure collected automaticaly in your TP request.

How to find all the Master data extract structures and Extractors

I intend to create Master data dimensions closely similar to SAP BI in a 3rd party system. I would like to use SAP's standard extractors for populating the master data structures in SAP BI and then use a proprietary technology to create similar structures in a 3rd party database.
Question: How to get a complete list of all Master data extract structures and corresponding extractors?
Example: In ECC if I do SE80 and give 'Package' and 'MDX' and then press the 'display' spectacles, I get a list of structures and views under "dictionary objects" covering Material, Customer, Vendor, Plant Texts and attributes.
How do I get the remainder of the Master data extract structures viz. Purchase Info Records, Address, Org Unit etc?

Hi,
try the table ROOSOURCE and search the data source with string in astrick attr for master data and for text with text
This will give you the list of all the master data source in the system and it contains a column which tells about the extract structure and function module used by each.

Transport Extract Structure

Hi Guys,
I am unable to Transport the extract structure. I have created a Datamart and want to transport the required extract structure for the same. I am facing Transport failures errors since the extract structure does not include in the Transport.
The datasources and all related objects are included in the Transport but get an error relating to Extract structure.
I see these extract structure is the $TMP package and I am unable to include the same in the Transport.
1) Please let me know how do I include them in the Transport.
2) Would also want to know if we include the dataources in the Transport will that solve the purpose or should we include extract structures explicitly.
Please help me on this.

This is a Datamart generated and I am facing extract structure error in my Transport after it is imported to the Quality environment. I have Transported the Datasource but the Extract structure for the same is not Transported.
I am aware of the $TMP package, I am unable to change the Package details please help me in which all ways we can try to include the object in the Transport.
I have tried editing the extract structure and also tried changing the Object Directory but unable to include in a Transport.
Please let me know what needs to be done.

Go to RSA2 (DS Repository) in your source system and display your source system.
If Extraction Method is 'V' - you are lucky and you see table name where data is taken from.
If it is F* - function module is used, and you have to go thru its code to see all the tables it uses and logic how data is
processed.

Since you have the extract structure and the extractor, you must have some transaction like the Extractor Checker RSA3. If so
then execute ST05, switch on the trace and execute the extractor checker. Once the extractor checker presents the results
switch off trace. The clcik on Display trace and you will see all the tables that were hit by the extractor checker to
retrieve data and present it to you.

Enhancing the extract structure of Datasource 0CO_OM_CCA_9

My requirement goes as, we have a cube already getting populated with the data of 0CO_OM_CCA_9.
Now I have a accounting doc. available. My issue is we need a corresponding COPA doc.and its customer and produt for this accounting doc.
My Functional guy says, we can get the corresponding copadoc. and its details from the table CE10010. So now I need to add to fields to my stnd. extract structure and populate these 2. I know how to add them to the structure. My issue is all about populating them.
I see in RSA2 , that the extractor is a FM, which provides no exit within .
As far as my knowledge goes, is it sufficient if I write some code in the CMOD to fetch data from CE10010 and then pass it on to the extract structure, or do we have any thing else to be done to populate them.

Enhancing Extract structure can be achieved through the coding (cmod).
Or else you can even go for the Generic Data Source to combine both the tables.

Transporting Extract Structures for Business Content Data Sources

We have added a new field to the 2lis_13_vditm data source and when i am trying to capture it in the transport, only the data source is getting captured and not the extract sturcture. When I go to the Object Entry Directory of the Extract Structure, it shows package as MCEX and person responsible as SAP. Should i need to change this and capture it in a transport or is it enough if i capture the data source alone

Hi,
If you transport the DS that should do it . The extract structure is standarad one and it would show as SAP, however you would have added the new filed using an append structure and if you go to the append structure and view the transport request you should be ble to see the transport request and your package in it.
P.S : if the Append structure is not under any transport req then check if it has already been transported

Selecting desired fields from extract structure to datasource in CRM

hi guys... coming back to this forum with new problem...
how are you guys...
i'm using ds 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1 in CRM to extract activities related data...
by standard this data source is not supplying some fields which i needed... but when i checked in 'roosfield' table and even in extract structure 'CRMT_BW_DS_ACTIVITY' it is showing the those fields which i required...
how can i get these fields to data source...
in LO its like...we can select required field from extract sturcture right???
is there any procedure do same with CRM data sources...

If the fields are available in ES but not available in DS , then we can Modify the table ROOSFIELD. But, I think, this is some what rude mothod.
Before doing this, It is better to Raise a OSS. They may come out with some SP upgradation.
Search this forum with ROOSFIELD.

How to maintain extract structure for 2lis_02_itm in ecc ?

I have seen in the dvlp system that one field is available to move it from comm struc to extract struc for 2lis_02_itm , that is BEDNR, but now i m unable to see it in sanbox system .....in the comm stru to move it from right to left. I have del the lbwq for that app, del rsa7 q, and deactivated it and still unable to find it. Why is the find button not working while in maintain data source screen and is there anything else to be done while selecting the fields from comm struc to extract struc. Please tell me if i am missing any step to find the field. Please let me know. I need to add this EKPO-BEDNR field to the extract struc, How can I find it ?.
Please suggest experts.

Whenever u move the field from the communicationstructure to extract structure by default the hide field will be checked, plz untick (uncheck ) that field .

LIS (Extract Structure to Datasource) Documentation

Hi
Does anyone have any good documents that explain the relationship with the LIS and the extract structures etc.
I understand that they are predefined Extract structure from (LIS) and if you add more fields then you must do ABAP too to make sure these are filled.
As per my post yesterday I originally thought that as the fields were in the main table in SAP anyway then it would just be a case of just adding them to the extract strucuture in SBIW.
This now seems worng

The first two characters in each record is constant , so this would be the keyfields right?

Hi.
if you need to convert an EDI to XML you need to use an Adapter specific (e.g Seeburger) because PI doesn't support EDI files.
Also if you use a FCC , this configuration is for two level Header and Detail.

How can I extract pages and maintain links.

I have a catalog index several pages long and all links to various pages in rest of catalog.
I want to extract those pages with the links to the pages intact and insert into a modified version of same catalog. Page numbers remain exactly the same.
When I extract the pages the link appears to be there(hand changes to finger pointer), but the action has been removed. When you click you go nowhere.
How can I extract these pages and re-insert with links intact?

Hi lenm,
To extract pages, you need to use Acrobat (not Adobe Reader). As I can attest (because I do have both Reader and Acrobat installed on the same computer), it is quite easy to open files in Reader when you mean to open then in Acrobat. So, please make sure you have the right app open. (I pull this one all the time!)
Now, if the Tools menu is missing from Acrobat, choose View > Show/Hide > Toolbar Items > Show Toolbars to make them reappear.
