How to Trasport across CMS

Hello
I want to know, it is possible, transport some different web dynpro applications (projects) that were deployed and running in a Netweaver Java server DEV to another new server QAS or PRD across <b>CMS</b>... It is possible? What things we have to do for that?
or the only way is deploy my application in each server again.

How to use the CMS functionality using the ccd.war(Portlet) which is available in the library as i could add it to my channel but not able to show the functionality as it is showing the error msg "You are currently not logged in. Please login." should I create userid and there respective roles inorder to use the CMS functionality.
Has any one used this as I could this in glass fish server.

Alternatively,
1. ccd.war has 3 portlets in it:
(a) custom content definition portlet
(b) custom content portlet
(c) workflow portlet
2. Inorder to work with these portlets, user needs to be in anyone of the below roles:
(a)Consumer (b) Editor (c) Approver (d) Administrator (e) Submitter (f) Contributor (g) Publisher
3. By default ccd.war gets deployed using a default roles file (/var/opt/SUNWportal/tmp/ccd.roles.properties)
Note: In windows, you may not find this file
4. Access the portlets as a user in any of the role mentioned in the ccd.roles.properties
(OR)
you can use a new roles file which has mapping to your custom roles. For this , undeploy existing ccd.war and deploy again with a new roles.properties file

I configured the sld and its working fine
now i am in the stage to create the Track for development.
In the process of crating the track its asking the CMS URL and User Id and Password.

2. What is the URL and UID /Password.
3. I am not able to see the NWDI roles in my server

See It depends upon your landscape..
If you want to transfer the Dev to Quality..
--The basis team should create the all respective track..
--After activating your Objects in IR ,ID you will get another option in change list there you have to rclick and click on transport automatically transfered to QA..
The other way is through file you can transfer..export ,import... options..
-- this is you have to export the objects by SWCV or namesapce wise .. the all object will be stored under one path in server .. next you have to prepare the excel sheet you objects ..then the basis team will transfer the tpz file to qa and there it will be imported..

Hi I've designed a couple of sites in adobe muse now, but i'd like to know how to add cms for potential client to update sites I design for them. Can you help me please?

I actually agree that WordPress (self hosted installation) could be the way to go (not exclusively, but a CMS software, either open-source or even proprietory). However, learn to code to offer a point of difference (I'm assuming you already know how to design a good site - the other point of difference).
I'm probably biased as I love the ability to have control over coding my site designs (to me, Muse is cheating, I've used it - any good designer can design a site - but coding it up yourself is a fantastic skill to have. Just my opinion).
WordPress is free, yes, but it's essentially a free CMS. For me, I used to have to charge clients for a CMS component to my site developments before the open source ones came about, so in that respect, for many sites, the CMS cost component has been elliminated for clients (some still choose to go the proprietory way). WordPress is probably the easiest CMS for clients to learn to use at the level they need to edit their own content for smaller sites (note I'm calling it a CMS, it stopped being just a blogging tool a long time ago). I can see where the comments are coming from that are saying to stay a way from WordPress, as there are many people out there calling themselves 'web developers / designers' who have found WordPress and have thought, I could use this to make some moolah, but they don't know how to go further than installing WordPress, activating a plugin, a theme (they may even know some basic css to customise the theme), and then charging people for something that they could do for themselves for free. I doubt some of them even know how to secure a site.
However, as a CMS itself, WordPress is actually very powerful, and can power a pretty large, serious site. A comment earlier mentions that the destinction between cheap and professional is apparent, and it's true for WordPress sites. You can tell the sites that use it for free, as a hobbyist, or have done it themselves (and if someone is charging for this, look at their site and client sites - you can tell straightaway if they know what they're doing - if their site & client sites look templated but they're charging web designer fees, that's a dead giveaway to steer clear ).
For me, I use WordPress on some sites as a tool to give my clients the CMS capabilities they need (along with other open-source and proprietory CMSs). If developers had to pay for WordPress as a piece of software, I'd do it. However, I go far beyond what people can get for free from it, and give people what they can't do for themselves, such as custom professional web design & development, design of their site to suit their whole branding strategy, functionality way beyond the core offerings of WordPress, and education on how to keep their sites secure (WordPress is popular, and hackers know this.)
As a designer, Adobe tools are a must (I'm a graphic design as well as web designer). Illustrator is my preferred choice for web design proofs for clients, InDesign for print, Dreamweaver I use for coding (by hand - I just like the way it colour codes the raw code).
If you need to offer professional web design as a service, with CMS capabilities, and want to go with with WordPress, or Drupal, or Mod X , or CMSMS, or a proprietory system, and don't want to outsource to a professional developer who knows what they're doing, then learning to code is a must, not an optional extra - CSS is not difficult (need to be aware of cross browser limitations though), HTML is so easy, PHP is harder but is worth knowing, for other CMSs the Smarty Templating language is often used, other web technologies can be handled by outsourcing to serious developers/programmers. Learning how WordPress works (from the backend) is not enough. Learn how to develop with it. If deciding to go with WordPress, don't rely on free plugins, get some very good quality premium ones (just the core set) and be prepared to spend some money on these tools. (Would you use a tradesperson who only relied on free or cheap sub-standard tools?) - Machine generated code is no substitute to hand written code. (Remember the old ImageReady and the spurfluous generated HTML from a sliced layout? Yuk!)
I can say, if you are a very good front end designer and can design a site layout, then learning how to develop that layout for a CMS is very satisfying indeed - at the very least, start by learning how to code it into a HTML layout with CSS, get some initial help with this from Dreamweaver and go from there. Code for me is another tool to add to my Adobe toolset to satisfy creative output.

How to drill across sections in Dashboards

i'm doing this for an department table on department name.
for which when i drill on department name, corresponding employees list should be shown.
my problem is
1. if the dept name contains a spaces like 'Human Resources', then the URL is taking only Human and its ignoring the rest.(if it doesn't contain spaces, its showing correctly.!)
the URL looks like this

2. the drill down can be implemented on varchar datatypes only.

But, if we use Navigate, the drilling will be to a new page.
but the client requirement is like this.
intially there are two sections, one shows dept details and other shows emp details(of all depts)
when we click on a particular dept name, the emp details of that department only should be shown and in the same section only(i.e., without navigating to a diff page).
the procedure i'd got from the website mentioned in the earlier post worked fine with the department name containing no spaces.
but when there is a space in the department name(ex.Human Resources),, the URL is taking till Human only(due to anchor tag in column properties on dept name).here the anchor tag is used to call emp details section and pass the respective dept name called.But when a space occurs in URL, that anchor tag is taking till a space.
(ex.: http://l3f0372:9704/analytics/saw.dll?GO&path=/shared/New/3.Emp&Action=Navigate&P0=1&P1=eq&P2=Departments.%22Department%20Name%22&P3=Human )
so, how to pass a value with space using anchor tag dynamically..?

BOXI3 : How to copy a CMS to a new server?

Hello everybody,
Currently we have some problems on our production environnement.
Due to the complexity of the problem, we want to copy the production cms on our development server.
This is how we proceeded:
1- copy of frsinput and frsoutput on our dev server
2- copy of the production referential database using cmsdbsetup
But when we start the dev server all the servers are stopped and we have the following erro message "unable to locate the SIA on the server".
Can somebody give us some guidance to solve the problem?

Our confiuration is:
- OS: Sun Solaris 10
- BOXI3.0 with LAFIX16 and LAFIX33
- We have a production and a DEV environments that have already been installed
We want to copy the production cms on the DEV cms. What we did is :
1- copy the frs from prodution server to DEV server
2- copy the referential and audit database from production to DEV
3- use cmsdbsetup.sh to configure to import the copy of the production referential database on the DEV
4- restart all servers
Problem: All the servers don't see rhe SIA; so they can not start.
Did we forgot a step in the process?

How to remove old CMS Workspace-ID

Dear,
we have setup an XI-Track with the Landscape configurator of cms.
We have deleted the xi-tracks because we want to have an another
name. Our old name was TrackXI. Now we want to create two other
XI-Tracks with the new name XI_REP and XI_DIR.
After deleting successfully the old track name from the cms the
old CMS Workspace-ID is still there in XI. We can see it in the XI
Administration Page under CMS transport settings.
Our Problem is that the Workspace-ID is with the old name of the
software component. And when we create the new name and add the same
software component we are afraid that we have multiple Workspace-ID.
How can we delete the old CMS Workspace-ID?
Have somebody experience with deleting XI-Track in cms?

How to deploy across multiple mid-tier instances

I was hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction. We have two portal/webcache mid-tier instances on release 10G AS 9.0.4.2. On the ias_admin home page I tried to create a cluster and add the two instances to a cluster but it won't let me do it for a portal type install. If that is the case, how do people handle deploying such things as portlet providers and data sources across multiple mid-tier instances? Here is the concern from our Portal admin:
As discussed, the inability to cluster the mid-tiers will cause issues in production as we try and keep deployed portlet providers with their required configurations and datasources in synch. While deploying and configuring 1-2 mid-tiers for a given portlet manually is do-able, the chance for out of synch components or configuration settings is amplified for each additional mid-tier. If we manually deploy 5 mid-tiers and accidently mistype the datasource for example, we'll have a random error that will occur once requests are attempted to be serviced by that mid-tier. This will make troubleshooting difficult. We really need some way to deploy and configure settings one time and have these items propagated to all the other mid-tiers.
What is the best way to handle this scenario?

Jar files are not stored on the file system
Temporary files are held in bpel/domain/default/tmp folder, whereas jar files in the dehydration store for clustered deployment.
If you configure BPEL (not AS) cluster - files will be propagated to all nodes.

How to carry across a Facet through nested composite components

I have two nested composite components, with an inner component that does interesting things, and an outer that groups some child components in a convenient package. I would like to use a Facet in the inner component, and it would be nice if you could declare it on the outer component and have it passed through. But I am unable to achieve this, and there is no documentation on how it should work.
I've made a test project where I try to use insertFacet in the outer component.

hi friends
we are implementing SAP HR in our company. we have ECC 5.0(Aix 5.3 64 bit with oracle 9i) and we have a requirement to implement CMS (content mangement server) for the payroll & uploading of employee photos.
could you please help in providing us the overview of what are the requirements of installing a CMS in SAP.We only have one windows 32 bit machine with 160 gb of hard disk and 2 gb ram. So do we need to purchase another machine or can we configure the CMS on this spare machine.
also, is it possible to configure the CMS on the SAP application server with existing landscape without the need of buying a new hardware.
i would really appreciate if you could help me on this topic. I have read the CMS help document but i need expertise from people who have implemented CMS or are planning to do , to know what is the best practice.

You could install CMS (usage type DI) in 2 ways:
1. Install it as a standalone instance of with NW 640 SAPinst, which I recommend to go with because of flexibility.
2. Patch all necessary components by SDM to an existing AS Java instance, to find needed components in SWDC:

How can tables across multiple pages be printed?

I've got DIAdem 9.0. I have a table on a report that has so much data it spans several pages. I can scroll through the tables with in DIAdem REPORT but I can only print one page at a time. Does anyone know how to print all the pages from script? Is there a way to print the page number like "Page 3 of 10". Thanks!

Before issuing the PicPrint() command, you can set a couple of DIAdem variables in order to control what prints:
To print all sheets:
PrintRangeType = "AllPages"
Call PicPrint("WinPrint")
To print some sheets (for instance only sheets 2 to 4):
PrintRangeType = "PageEnums"
PrintFromPage = 2
PrintToPage = 4
Call PicPrint("WinPrint")
Also, you can insert text on each DIAdem-REPORT sheet that uses DIAdem variables to dynamically display page number information on each sheet:
Page @GraphSheetCurrNo@ of @GraphSheetCount@
This will display the "Page 3 of 10" syntax that you wanted. Note that if you insert a new DIAdem-REPORT sheet, you will have to click View >> Refresh to get the page number information updated
on all sheets.

I dont think you can do that within BI. How about the same in other way like if there are new items in your webcat notify it using batch file or .sh script or any other way.

Can't you specify "Requires" in your deployment descriptor for all of these methods involved in the transaction? This should enable the container to manage it for you.
