How to turn LV "# days-remaining" splash screen back ON?

Hi all-
This is probably an easy one but I was wondering if anyone knew how to turn that list of available toolkits and associated "# of days remaining" splash screen back ON?  I checked the "do not display at startup" box once but now would like to have that back.  We use a lot of lab laptops with disconnected license files and its helpful to see when I need to request a refreshed file from our licensing admin (she makes them expire yearly).
Thanks!

Hi kenbroc,
You can find when your licenses will expire by going to the NI License Manager (Start->All Programs->National Instruments -> License Manager). Once there expand local licenses, expand the version of LabVIEW you are interested in, expand development system, and then select your development system. On the right hand side will be the information pertaining to that install including License File Expiration. This is the recommended way to lookup license information, but if you still want the splash screen I can look more into if it is possible to get that back for you.

When I turn on Messages, I can't see my messages.  All I can see is a screen with horizontal lines.  How can I get the regular Messages screen back?

The same is happening for me. Today I decided to reboot my PC because it was acting up a bit, go figure, and then for some reason at the same time the PC was restarting my macbook froze. I had to do a reboot with the restart button but then all that came up was a gray background and in the middle of the screen was a darker gray folder with a white question mark in the middle of it, blinking. I can't imagine why the restart would've affected my macbook. After finding information on how to fix this, I tried all of the steps that were given about using the mac OS X disk to use the first aid utility to fix it. When using the Disk Utility option whenever I select my hardrive and am in the First Aid tab, the only button I can use is the Verify Disk Permissions. The other three buttons, and namely the most important Repair Disk button, is/are not selectable (grayed out). I then tried resetting the PRAM the way they also said with the command + option + P + R and waited for the second startup sound. After that I gave the Disk Utility a second try, but still nothing. And now if I try to just reinstall the OS completely I can't even select a destination volume on the third step (Select Destination). Apparently this means i'm SOL.

How do i disable the startup splash screen in elements 9

Try making a direct shortcut for the Organizer and Editor. Make sure you have the correct file path as there is more than one exe file. You can then launch the programs directly from the desktop bypassing the welcome screen. This is generally better as the welcome screen leaves background processes running.
On Windows, Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Then click the browse button and navigate to:
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Elements 9 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
Then click Next; then click Finish
Then make a direct shortcut for the Editor in a similar manner.
On Windows, Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Then click the browse button and navigate to:
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 9\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
Then click Next; then click Finish
N.B. on 64 bit systems navigate to Program Files (x86)

  • When using Teststand, how do I prevent the LABView splash screen from appearing?

It comes up even if I have the "Don't show this screen" checked !

I'm excited to see TestStand is a celbrity product.
Typically when you run a sequence in TestStand, LabVIEW is launched by TestStand when the sequence contains steps that use the LV adapter. In this case LV is launched through its ActiveX interface and the LV splash screen is suppressed. This is in contrast to launching LabVIEW manually in which case the LV splash screen will be displayed.
In your case I'm not sure how LV is being launched. You might want to shut down LV and then run your sequence to see if the splash screen is then suppressed.
You may also want to read NI Knowledgebase article 28MEPUXL, "Why Does the LabVIEW Startup Screen Appear When Using the Dialog Box Function from Within My VI?". In this case LV has been opened manually and not be Test
Stand, such that the splash screen is not suppressed.

  • How to create desktop application (AIR) splash screen FB 4.7 ?

Hi.  I am using Flash Builder 4.7 and with the tutorials and the API documentation on Flex by Adobe I can't seem to find a good solution for creating a Splash Screen for an Adobe AIR Desktop application.  I have found some results for mobile applications but I didn't go into those because I am developing for the desktop.  However if some of the moblie results are valid for porting to desktop I will give them a shot.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks in advance.
P.S.  If I port to mobile, I will be porting to Android

Did you try the newly released SDK from official page, rather than labs? I would also suggest running FB with Java 1.6, if you have it on Java 1.7 - FB4.7 is known to yield some quirks with new java VMs.
Flash Builder is developed on top of Eclipse platform, which is basically a pluggable architecture - nothing wrong with that. Number of files do not really affect the overall application performance. In general you should not touch that, unless you really know what you doing and can manage all the dependencies on your own. I agree, though, that's is quite unfortunate that Adobe decided to hide the AIR SDK deep inside plugins, instead dragging it out to a top-level folder, where it's visible and available for change. It was possible with Flex SDK configured externally, so why not here?

  • How to disable PS Elements 10 splash screen?

I'm frustrated that I get this Welcome screen everytime I start Photoshop.  How do I turn it off?
I just want to start editing, like in the full version.
I FOUND IT.   For anyone wanting to do the same thing:
    1. Do NOT go to the Edit/Preferences menu in Photoshop. Not there.
    2. At the Welcome screen, click on the "settings" in the upper right corner.
    3. Choose "Always Launch Photoshop Elements Editor only."
    4. You are done.

    Welcome to the forums, Tom.
Well, actually, that's one way, but the thing is that the welcome screen still runs background processes when you turn it off that way. Better to go into the program files and make desktop shortcuts to the editor and/or organizer in windows or make dock icons for OS X.

  • DVD Authoring: How to Make a Menu/Home/Splash Screen

I searched for "DVD menu" and "DVD authoring" but came up empty for what I am trying to do.
I am a newbie to InDesign (CS3), using mostly Premiere Pro. I am a teacher at a High School and for our 4th quarter project we are making a Senior year video. Anyway, one of the groups have the task of designing the cover art, liner notes, DV-disc cover, as well as the menu screens for the DVD itself.
I clearly see that InDesign has some nice templates for most of this stuff, but is this the proper software to be using to create a menu screen to load the chapters, view additional content and things of that sort?
Thanks for the guidance. I'm looking forward to this project but want to make sure I understand the general process first. I'm a quick learner but want to make sure I am studying the right software this weekend!

InDesign is excellent for the printed material, but almost wholly useless for DVD menus. At best, you could create some graphic backgrounds by exporting the layout to JPEG - and that might be an approach to make your printed materials and menus match - but it has no features for creating or editing the menus themselves.
What you want is a DVD authoring tool. There are quite a few around, most of which have flexible titling and menuing functions. Some very limited packages only work with a canned menu; others have some support for user-created menus and titles; others are full-function design and layout tools for those purposes.
I find that Adobe Encore handles most of my needs, but you may be looking for a less expensive alternative. (Encore is about $200 with an academic license, if I remember rightly.)
A general web search for "DVD Authoring" should turn up a selection of tools in all price ranges and with a spectrum of capabilities.

  • How to turn off transparancy on lock screen to not blur out the wallpaper but not have black screen? (enhanced contrast)

With the new iOS7 update, on the lockscreen when you get a notification ex) text message, the wallpaper will go blurred until either you open it or swpe down to hide it. I find this frustrating as what does having a lockscreen wallpaper do anymore? I would like to have an option to disable the blur for the lockscreen so I can always see my wallpaper.

if your only issue is with notifications (not sure about texts), this seems like the easiest to fix, in terms of blurred screen; because you DO NOT have to have your notifications display on the lockscreen. You SHOULD be able to have them display in the notifications center swipe down; but so long as they don't have to display on the lockscreen there should be no reason for the iOS to blur the background.
there IS an option to remove an app TOTALLY from notifications, if necessary.
so maybe the only question is: what is more important: your notifications showing up on the lockscreen or your lockscreen image.
to me, i don't care where my notifications display. certainly don't need them on my lockscreen.
my main blur issue is NOT with notifications; but with audio playback; because iOS thinks it has to display the audio controls on the lockscreen, which blurs the wallpaper. But, when I hit PAUSE, I can get the screen to go back to normal (using by toggling screen ON/OFF). hopefully there is a way to remove that from displaying on the lockscreen, since the control center has the same audio controls and is also accessible from the lockscreen.
    hope this helps.

    Hello,
I unchecked the "Show at launch" checkbox on the Xcode welcome screen but now I'd like to have it displayed again.
Does anyone know how to do this? I'm using version 3.1.1 and there doesn't seem to be an option in preferences.

  • Turn off splash screen, tune and beeps?

    How can I turn off:
-- the initial splash screen video of shaking hands
-- the the initial little tune that plays
-- the little beeps that play with every button press
    I am using an N93.
    Thanks for your help.
    John

    The keypad tone:
Menu -> Tools -> Profiles -> General (or the profile, which is currently set) -> Options -> Personalise. Then go to Keypad tones and set to Off.
    The initial tune:
In order to have this off, the Warning Tones option in the given profile should also be Off.
    The grasping hands:
Go to Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Phone settings -> General -> Welcome note/logo. Now set to Text and enter some text or choose Image and select a picture. This will be the startup animation/text. If you simply want blank screen, draw a white image in Paint, save as JPG and put for logo
