  • How to turn on brush pressure without tablet

    hello,
how i turn on brush pressure without tablet ot tech screen?
    this is my problem:
    "pressure" is disabled.
how i turn on pressure without tablet?

What brush pressure does is dynamically alter the stroke as it is drawn. You may be able to alter the stroke after it is drawn.  Since you aren't describing what sort of alterations you want, there is no way for anyone to provide alternatives.
There is no substitute for the dynamic ability to alter strokes as you draw them, a tablet is required for that ability. But a similar appearance AFTER the stroke is drawn is entirely possible.

  • How do I get pen pressure sensitivity in Photoshop CS5?

    Hi
There is no sensitivity to pressure in my Photoshop CS5. I have installed the driver for my tablet (Intuos 4), but it still doesn't work. I have also clicked the icons for both pressure and opacity in the bar at the top, but they made no difference.
I see a triangle with an exclamation point in the brushes menu by the control options. It says "Control by pen pressure requires the use of a pressure sensitive tablet," so I take this to mean that my tablet isn't supporting sensitivity.
The tablet works just fine, but the sensitivity won't. What should I do?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I figured it out! Pen Pressure is working just fine now. Here are the steps I used to fix my problem. Thanks for your help, Noel!
    Windows 7/Vista Pro Driver
-Disconnect the tablet from the computer
-Open your start menu and then the Control Panel
    -Open programs and features
-Uninstall any listing here for Tablet or Wacom Tablet and then restart the computer
-After restarting, download and install only the latest driver (6.16) from wacom website
-Once the installation is complete, and the system is stable, connect the tablet.

  • How can I use pen pressure with synaptics active pen (Acer switch 10 FHD)?

Like this, I can't use pen pressure.
    How can I fix it?

    tomeq,
    Try this:
Open Power Options by swiping in from the right edge of the screen, tapping Search (or if you're using a mouse, pointing to the upper-right corner of the screen, moving the mouse pointer down, and then clicking Search), entering Power options in the search box, and tapping or clicking Power options.
Tap or click Choose what the power button does and under Shutdown settings, select Hibernate (if it's available).

  • My pen pressure opacity "glitches" and does a full opacity often when I try to digital paint.

Does anyone know why it does this? It does it every 4-6 times which is really really often since you brush about 10 times every 3 seconds or so when digital painting especially when shading, lighting, blending, etc with brushing.
Why does it do this? I cant recall when it started doing this but I think it was either when I updated from CS4 to CS6 or maybe it just randomly kicked in.
I already updated my drivers and re-installed my tablet. That wasn't the problem.

Traditionally this kind of problem is solved by changing / reinstalling tablet drivers.  I recall a time when people were actually having to load Wacom drivers that were NOT the latest to work around it.
As JJ has said, posting more specific information might get you more specific help.

  • Is there a way to change how Photoshop handles pen pressure per stroke?

I'm a digital illustrator, and at current I have to switch between Corel Painter and Photoshop for my work flow, but for only one seemingly simple reason. Painter obviously has reproducing natural media at its heart, and as such some of the dry media functions (charcoal, pencil, pastel, etc.) work with an absolute pressure basis. No matter how many times you go over a swathe of pixels or pick up your pen, opacity/flow is determined solely by pressure.
Photoshop on the other hand functions more like wet media, with the assumption that you're picking up more paint with every lift of the pen.
Now here's the real kicker, I'm not a big fan of Painter. I'm more comfortable with Photoshop and I've found plenty of ways to get past texture and blending issues with the wonderful open ended brush tools and a couple fancy plugins, but I can't get around this. I learned art as a dry media artist, and as such my hand and brain don't compute a slight lift off the tablet with gathering more color.
So to put it simply: Is there a way to adjust Photoshop's pen pressure from pen pressure = opacity x stroke to just pen pressure = total opacity?
Because I would stop buying Painter if Photoshop had this option.
Thanks in advance for any input!

Don't know any 'automatic' way - but, i have "Fetch Headers only" set on each of my 'secondary accounts'.
With varying internet service, manual "Get Messages" is probably the "Best Practice" because you will know how good your service is before you even try.
maybe set "Check for new messages every 'n' minutes" to different times
(3 minutes, 6 minutes, etc.) on each 'secondary' account.

  • How do I change the pen pressure in Adobe Elements 11?

I bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 in the hopes that I could finally start to draw and color lineart, but I don't know if it's an old and/or atypical version or what, cause I've tried like four or five different tutorials on how to change the pen pressure so that the thickness of the line you draw depends on how hard you push the pen. In all of these tutorials however, I only get as far as to the third or fourth step before they tell me to click an option I don't have. Now I hope that I just haven't found the right tutorial yet or pen pressure can't be modated in Elements 11??

In the pse 11 editor in Expert mode with the Brush Tool selected, click on Tool Options
and then click on Tablet Settings and select, for example, Size

  • Pen pressure not working. Tried everything.

Tried techniques in both Adobe and Corel.
Any suggestions on how to get the pen pressure to work would be greatly appreciated!

Notably Wacom has *just* released a new driver for their tablets to correct pen pressure issues, and at least one person has reported that it has corrected pen pressure problems.
I haven't read too carefully here, and I don't know if their driver could help you directly.  I just mentioned it because you said you saw Wacom people reporting problems too.

  • Pen-pressure control both opacity\flow AND size?

I distinctly remember very early versions of Photoshop (even well before CS, perhaps) in which I could choose a brush that was very valueable to me and that would allow me to control with Wacom pen pressure both the opacity and the size of the stroke. I vaguely remember it had to do with the air-brush icon
I can no longer find such a brush in photoshop.
In all my attempts to play with the options or brush settings, or choosing the `pressure opacity icon` or the `size opacity icon` and all combinations I tried, I caouldn`t find a brush that will allow me to control both, and I remember and know that once it did exist...
In screenshot 1 I show how when choosing opacity pressure control one gets these wonederful soft, cloudy, fluffy, gradient edges but how  even if the strokes seems to grow a bit thinner is actually the same width between the two parallel red lines.
In screenshot 2 I show how when choosing size pressure control one ges these pointy sharp edges and not the cloudy gradients of the previous example
In screenshot 3 I attemp[t a simulation - An artificial representation of the look and feel of that brush i`m referring to, long lost to me, that has both soft edges and can still be reduced to a thin line at the same time.

Conroy, the point you bring up is important, thank you.
The fade size and flow stroke would give the exact effect I`m looking for, if it could only be truly controled and did not impose a set and limited effect, in the sense that the stroke cannot be either lengthened, dragged,or modified in any way. It`s mere existence indicates that such an effect is still doable within the photoshop visual language.
If only I could find how to be able to get such an effect for actual drawing...
The loss of this ability spells a great handicap in my ability to use Photoshop.
I think that all I needed in ancient versions was to click the airbrush icon and I would have it, but now clicking this icon seems strangely to yield no visible effect, which is also a tell-tail sign by itself, don`t you think?
I wondoer whether other Wacom users are having the same problem and whether they are not too, suffering tremendously from the inexplicable dissapearance of that ability.
I`m currently using a 12WX Cintiq Wacom tablet, always with the latest drivers.

  • Pen pressure turning on and off in CS5?

Greetings! Long time photoshop user of 12 years, yet I've never used these forums.
    So.
I run a Surface Pro 2 with Wacom drivers, however I've also run into this same problem on a hand built PC running windows 7 with an Intuos 4 medium. As I'm drawing, my pen pressure will disappear and reappear so that random strokes "blot" on the screen... kind of like ink blotting out of a pen, as the entire force of pressure is used for the whole stroke no matter how gently or firmly I'm pressing. I work rapidly, and small, continuous, ACCURATE strokes are an absolute must. This problem can't be duplicated on any other program I've tried, be it Paint Tool Sai or Fresh Paint - it's a photoshop specific problem.
The problem seems to be worse on my Surface, however I'm also working more quickly on the Surface, thus running into the issue more frequently. This has been ongoing after many attempts at fixing.
    I've tried:
Reinstalling (4 times Surface, 8 times PC over time)
Wiping entirely with CCleaner and the removal tool adobe provides and reinstalling each time with the above ^
    Wiping and reinstalling drivers
    Trying different drivers
    Waiting for new drivers
Buying new tablets (Bamboo, to Intuos 4 small, to Intuos 4 medium, to Surface Pro 2)
Trying different angles and speeds (To find the result is just as random at any speed, pressure, or angle of the pen).I've exhausted my options. Who else ahs had this problem, and have you found a solution as of now?
Thanks for any and all help!

Yes I am having the same issues! Today I filming with my iPhone 5 and it was at 78% and it just tuned off and I got the pictures that says please connect to charger and then I waited and was able to turn it back on but then it showed 18% I turned it off a few times during the day and even left it off and when I turned it back on it did not change so then it was at 10% and stayed there all day at 10% and now i just turned it off and back on and it showed 28%. So now im going to let it die completely and then restore my iPhone then charge it to see if that works.
also, does charging your iphone with an ipad charger hurt the phone? I'm in France for school and I got the apple travel adapters.
one more thing, if your charger is not plugged in all the way in the iphone (it is charging though) will that hurt the phone? I made a dock out of wood and I can not see if it is all the way connected so I'm not sure that will change anything. It is charging but I still worry.

  • PSE 7 Pen pressure problem

I have been using a Bamboo tablet and PSE 7 with no problems until recently. I just purchased and set up a Cintiq 21ux DTK2100 as a secondary monitor. I updated the latest driver directly from Wacom. Now when I use PSE, pen pressure wont work the way that it used to on the line thickness. The pressure I put on the pen will vary the opacity of my lines but not the thickness of the line even though I have Size and Opacity checked off. What do I have to do? Please help.

I'll continue trying different drivers, but it looks like this is a Photoshop issue to me.
Clearly, the tablet doesn't lose sensitivity when I'm working in either Adobe Flash or Paint Tool SAI.  I've sadly had to turn to Paint Tool SAI to work around this problem.  I'd much prefer to use Photoshop, with which I have the bulk of my experience.  I purchased Photoshop CS5 for my Mac.
Since my Mac has been starting to give me trouble, I've been working on my PC.  I was hoping to upgrade my version of Photoshop, but if this product isn't going to work the way it should, I'm just not going to purchase it.
I understand this is frustrating, but, from my perspective it's clearly an issue inherent to Photoshop.  My tablet drivers work fine in other programs that use pressure sensitivity.  The artifacting seems above only occurs in Photoshop.
Is there a way I could try previous versions of Photoshop in order to see if, perhaps, it's CS6 that doesn't like my tablet?
Again, I'm sorry if I sound critical, but I'm frustrated.  Just really want Photoshop to behave like it should.
    Thanks again Chris,
    ~Rob

  • Pen pressure warning - Photoshop CC 2014

pen pressure just have a warningsign besides it, it worked fine before .

    Any help ?
    Thanks

I have the same problem. Pen pressure works in Photoshop CC, but not in Photoshop CC 2014. I have a Wacom intuos and have updated my Wacom drivers to the newest version. Windows 8.1.
Let's turn the discussion away from tablet drivers for a moment and consider the fact that pressure sensitivity works in an older version of Photoshop and doesn't in the new one. How should we proceed to solve this issue?

  • Wacom Tablet Pen Pressure stops working in Photoshop after using Lightroom Local Adjustment Brush

    Hi all,
I am experiencing a problem with my Intuos Pro Medium (driver 6.3.9w3 on Windows 8.1)
I am using Lighroom 5.6 and Photoshop CC 2014.
I an get the pen pressure to work in Photoshop without any problem. However, if I go into Lightroom and use the Local Adjustment Brush and then transfer the photo into Photoshop (Right Click Edit In => Edit in Adobe Photoshop 2014 CC) then the pen pressure stops working in Photoshop.
Really frustrating... The only workaround is to close both Photoshop and Lightroom, then reopen Photoshop, then usually the Pen pressure feature starts working again.
Has anyone experienced this before or has any idea how to fix this?
    Thanks,
    Guillaume

Your tablet driver isn't reporting pressure correctly.
The knockoff tablet drivers usually need to be revised for each new version of Photoshop (and we have no idea why).
Contact your tablet maker to see if they have updated drivers to fix their bugs.

  • Xerox Phaser 8860 on Network-How to turn off popup print job confirmations?

I recently upgraded to OS 10.6.4 and as expected I needed to reinstall the drivers for a few peripherals. One of which was the Xerox Phaser 8860 which is on the network. Everything works, but now after each print job prints out a window pops up in the center of the screen notifying me that ::Job### has printed on Xerox Phaser 8860::. It causes no serious problems, but it does knock me out of what ever program I am using. Which can get extremely annoying when I'm drawing and I repeatedly get halted mid (pen/brush) stroke. It stays up on the screen for about a minute and a few times it has remained up. There is an option to close, it simply gets really annoying after the 30th time. Common sense would suggest to not draw while a file is on it's way to the printer, but my work day is a constant flow of drawing, printing, color tests and editing. It's not practical or good for deadlines to stop drawing to wait for a print job to come out and the pop up window to go away.
I tested printing from the other computers, which are PC's using various versions of windows and they all come up with the same pop up window (though theirs come up at the bottom right of the screen). They do not receive confirmation windows from the other printers not on the network.
This suggested to me that this was a setting with the Xerox software. However, I spoke to the technical support for Xerox and they said that the pop up window had nothing to do with their software and claim that it had to be generated by the Mac OS 10.6.4.
I am regularly printing from the following programs:
Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Word, and Excel. The pop out window has acquired while printing files from all of these programs. I doubt that has any relation but I thought I'd add it, just in case.
I would very much like to know how to turn this confirmation notification off in OS 10.6.4. Or if anyone has an thoughts on what software could be the culprit.

In CWIS go to Properties > General > Printer Defaults and disable the Startup page  As for garbage prints, That sounds like a PS error. And they are almost always due to improperly embedded fonts. Have all your users switch the following in their drivers (Picture is the global driver, but the regular driver will have the same option.) Essentially by default the printer uses its own locally stored fonts on the jobs, but when the fonts are misunderstood, or unknown it winds up printing wingdings.

  • Surface Pro 3 no pen pressure in CS6?

I have just purchased a Surface Pro 3 and have downloaded Adobe Suite, particularly to use Photoshop CS6.
However, I have no pen pressure in Photoshop CS6! It's incredibly frustrating!
I can draw with the Surface Pen, but there is no pressure sensitivity - even when I switch sensitivity on. (I am experienced using Photoshop and understand how to use these functions).
The Surface Pen seems to be working fine in all other applications.

You say the pen is "working fine" in all other applications, but does this mean you're getting pressure sensitivity in other applications?
I just got a SP3 a couple of months ago and as I recall, once you calibrate it and pair it the Surface Pen will function, but without pressure sensitivity. After doing some research I ended up downloading and installing the N-trig Wintab driver and I now have pressure sensitivity in a variety of art programs, e.g. Photoshop CC & CC 2014, ArtRage, Sketchbook Pro, Manga Studio 5, and Painter 2015.
I understand that Microsoft has now released Surface Hub, an app that enables sensitivity adjustment and is available in the Microsoft store. My impression is that you would install this for newer apps and only if you have not already installed the Wintab driver. The Surface Hub seems to be getting mixed reviews.
See this Microsoft page for further information and links: http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/support/touch-mouse-and-search/troubleshoot-surface -pen#pressure
