How to turn off Apple TV and use my direct tv

We have direct tv and Apple TV.  I do not know how to turn off the Apple TV to watch direct tv and the movies my granddaughters are watching are in Spanish and I have no idea who to get them in English can anyone help?

Your Apple TV is connected to a different input on your TV, use your HDTV's remote to switch to the input in which direct tv is connected.
As for the movies, are these from iTunes?

    If you are using the included remote control, under settings there is a 'Sleep Now'. What ATV generation do you have?

    I've this problem and don't know what to do , i'n trying to follow these steps so i'm asking how to turn off photo syncing and to sync my device

    As the article you attached says, "Within iTunes, select the device, then select the Photos pane and turn off syncing."
    In other words, once you click on the device in iTunes on your computer (with the iPhone attached), you then click "Photos" near the top and uncheck the "sync photos" box.
    Then you sync your device by clicking something in the lower right (it probably says "Apply", but it might say "Sync").

  • How absolutely turn off computer if I use lilo boot loader?

    How absolutely turn off computer if I use lilo boot loader?
    With this /etc/lilo.conf content computer not absolutely turn off:
    # /etc/lilo.conf
    boot=/dev/hda
    # This line often fixes L40 errors on bootup
    # disk=/dev/hda bios=0x80
    default=arch
    timeout=0
    lba32
    prompt
    image=/boot/vmlinuz26 append="apm=power-off"
    label=arch
    root=/dev/hda1
    initrd=/boot/initrd26.img
    read-only

    Please provide some system specs so that we may give better advice. As phrakture has already said, you must have hardware that supports power management before auto shutdown works.

    Can I turn off the wireless and use the wired connections at the same time?
    This is to avoid transmission when I work without the need for wireless

    Yes, you can. Just open the web interface of the router. On your browser type the IP address of your router, usually http://192.168.1.1 go to wireless tab and disable it.

    Can you turn off apple tv and just watch your regular tv?

    I have an LG TV - I am still trying to work thru all this but on mine, I select TV on the TV remote and it takes me back to cable. Then when I want to return to Apple TV, I select INPUT on the remote and then HDMI. Took me right back to Apple TV.
    (But I had already configured the TV for an external HDMI device during set up.)

  • SPA122 - How to turn off "DHCP Option To Use" in the Provisioning tab using the XML configuration file?

    As default, SPA122 and SPA112 have DHCP Options 66, 160, 159 and 150 turned on.
    Our pre-provisioning process includes adding our default profile rule to our provisioning server for the device to pull its configuration files once the device has been added to an account.
    However, it seems like some customers have had problems with the device downloading the definite configuration file and manually turning off option Option 66 in the provisioning tab in the device solves this issue.
    Is there any option we could add to our pre-provisioning file so that it removes 66 from the "DHCP Option to Use" field in the provisioning tab?
    Please advise...

    Thanks Dan,
    I didn't know the dhcp server could serve different options to different classes of clients, I'll have to look that up!
    Moises
    so if your provisioning file has this line below (this is from a spa5xx config I had in my temp folder, so use the line from your provisioning file, or use the SPC tool to create a new default config for that device type)
    <DH<DHCP_Option_To_Use group="Provisioning/Configuration_Profile">66,160,159,150,60,43,125</DHCP_Option_To_Use>
    change it to
    <DH<DHCP_Option_To_Use group="Provisioning/Configuration_Profile">160,159,150,60,43,125</DHCP_Option_To_Use>
    Hope it helps,

    I don't want the suggested sites. Displaying them causes problems when rand children use computer.

    You can turn off search suggestions & auto complete through Firefox & the search engine settings etc. depending specifically on what you are wanting to achieve.

  • How can I turn off live bookmarks and use other reader

    I regret that I checked the option of always using live bookmarks for my RSS feeds. Now I want to use bloglines but when I click the RSS feed to add it to bloglines, live bookmarks pops up and I can't get the feed in order to add it to bloglines. I'm so frustrated I'm seeing red.

    you can change the default behaviour for rss-feeds in firefox > options > applications > web feed.

  • How To Turn Off Top Sites And Image Caches Permanently.

    Here's what I've done:
    1. Quit Safari 4.0 and right-click on it's icon in the Finder. Select "Show Package Contents".
    2. Look inside the Contents folder and right-click on +Safari Webpage Preview Fetcher+ and select *Compress "Safari Webpage Preview Fetcher"*.
    3. Put the original Safari Webpage Preview Fetcher in the trash and empty it.
    4. Navigate to +~Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Webpage Previews+ and highlight it. Get Info on it.
    5. At the bottom click on the padlock, type in your password and then change the Privilege column for your login name to "*Read only*". Close the Get Info window.
    6. Launch Safari.
    I'll see how long this works before causing any issues. For right now it seems to be working and eliminates needlessly wasted CPU cycles (which matter when I'm using pro-apps and looking up things online) and stops the madness of the Webpage Previews folder from being constantly bombarded with screenshots (oddly, in both .png and .jpeg) which can eat up a LOT of space on the boot hard drive.

    ~Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Webpage Previews
    Should be
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Webpage Previews
    Personally I've tried creating a soft link to /dev/null for the Webpage Previews folder and going to see how that goes
    cd /Users/honem/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari
    ln -s /dev/null "Webpage Previews"
    ls -l
    The last ls should output with Webpage Previews -> /dev/null in it somewhere indicating the Webpage Previews folder is linked to /dev/null

  • When you turn off cellular data and use wifi, do you still pay monthly?

    Hi

    If you use wifi, you are not using your cellular data, but your monthly plan would still be charged even if you don't use it.  That's why its a monthly plan rather than a prepaid contract, where you pay upfront, and when your balance runs out you stop getting service.
    In that case Using Wifi would keep you from using your prepaid balance.
    But again a Monthly contract is charged wether you use it or not for the specified amount of time. Usually for a Year sometimes more.

  • I can't turn off Apple's "News" Rule

    Can anyone help me turn off Apple's Rule for setting the background color to blue for News from Apple. According to Help, deselecting the checkbox in Mail > Prefs > Rules should turn it off but it doesn't.
    Unrelated but it would be helpful to me to know: in Entourage, I am used to having an option for deleting a message from the server, but keeping the message locally. Does Mail have this option anywhere?
    Thanks

    I used the greyscal slider and changed the two Apple News messages to white. The question is, what happens when new Apple News messages come in since the Rule is still in effect. I'm not handy with Rules but couldn't I create a Rule to turn any Apple News message to this color white? Seems ridiculous but in lieu of the fact that I can't turn it off...
    By now I've blown my cover as a grumpy curmudgeon so I won't hold back. Another reason I still use Entourage as my default email reader is I can't get Mail to not automatically retrieve my message as soon as I open it. I have it set Prefs>General>Check For New Mail: Manually. Yet every time I open Mail, it hurries up like an overanxious dog an gets all new mail. This screws me up because I already know I have junk mail and now have to delete it a second time. It's like Mail just does not respond to the commands I give it. (I know, I know, whining and grumbling) But seriously, how to turn off automatic News, and automatic checking for new mail?
    Thanks
