How to turn off screen on Macbook Air when connected to Computer LeD monitor?

How to turn off screen on Macbook Air when connected to Led monitor screen?

The only way you can turn it off is to close the lid - so you would need an external wired or wireless keyboard and mouse/trackpad attached.

  • How to turn off screen rotation on itouch 5

I just upgraded to a 32 bit iTouch 5 and was wanting to know how to turn off the screen rotation when I'm playing music. I have the shake to shuffle off (great feature!) but would like to turn off the screen rotation. I just find that to be annoying (to me anyway)...how do I do this on the 5?

Pull up the Control Center and lock the screen rotation. Tap the arrowed-circled padlock on the right side to toggle

how to turn off my i cloud in my ipad using computer

    Hi jackie,
Not sure what you are wanting to do, but if you do not want to be signed into iCloud on your device, you would do that by deleting the iCloud account that is signed in on that device: Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and press the delete button. Type in the Apple ID/iCloud password, and then answer each prompt until it is complete.
This is done directly on the device. There is no way to "turn off" iCloud on your device via a computer, unless you wipe the device and remove it from your iCloud account under the Find My iPhone app, but that requires that you wipe the device before you can remove it:

  • How to turn off screen without passcode lock.

I just upgraded my wife's iPad 2 from ios 6 to 7.  It used to be when you closed the ipad cover, it would turn off the screen right away.  I would still like it to turn off the screen right away when the cover is closed (so as not to waste batteries) yet NOT require a passcode when opened again (just a slide of the arrow like it used to be).  But right now, if I turn off the lock/unlock feature, and close the lid, the screen will remain full-on until the the auto-lock timer goes into effect - which will be never if I set it to "never".
I don't want to argue about the merits of having a passcode, I concede all your points, so there is no reason to tell me how stupid I am for not wanting to use one - but I would like to be able to have the screen go off without requiring a passcode to turn it back on.  Is this now impossible?  At the least, it should turn off the screen immediately when the cover is closed, and wait to put it in passcode lock mode until the auto-lock timer expires.
Is there any way to do this or is this just a case of Apple imposing this security feature our own good? Thanks.
    -J

Wow.  That was a super-fast answer.  Thanks.  I had seen that optoin and foolishly hadn't tried it because I thought typing my passcode there was just another way to put it into passcode lockdown "immediately".  Well, I said I was stupid. Thanks, it does now work the way it used to and I can still have it require the passcode after a certain timeout period.

  • How do I actually use a MacBook Air as a second computer

    Hi all,
I'm very tempted by the latest MacBook Airs. I'm considering getting one for on the road and around the house, while keeping my iMac as my 'main' computer. However, I'm wondering, how this would actually work and was wondering if someone could give me some pointers or ideas for strategies to follow. Specifically, I'm wondering about the following things.
    1. iPhoto: my main iPhoto library would be on my iMac. But if I was travelling, say, with only the MacBook Air and I wanted to transfer the photos from my camera to the MacBook Air and then delete the photos from my camera, once I returned home, how would I then transfer the photos (quickly and seamlessly if possible) to my iMac? Would I have to export them first to a shared drive, shared folder, or DropBox folder for example, and then import them onto my iMac's iPhoto library? Ideally, what I would want is some way to wireless sync (automatically) between my MacBook Air and iMac, a little like an iPhone sync.
    2. iTunes: if I wanted to load my MacBook Air up with some music or say videos which currently reside on my iMac, how would I do that? Again would it have to be a manual export somehow?
Maybe some of these issues will be resolved once iCloud arrives. Want I want if at all possible to avoid is manually connecting and disconnecting hard drives — I've had bad experiences with that in the past when used with portable devices (corrupted databases, lost files, etc.)
For mail / safari / calendars etc., I'm fine (I already have a mobile me account and it works perfectly making it easy to work on different computers). DropBox and Evernote handle the rest so my main question really revolves around media.
Any help, pointers or just links to places where this has already been discussed, greatly appreciated!
    Many thanks,
    David

You are going to NEED  external hard drives regardless, period.
for data storage, data backups and HUGE media files, of pics / vids/ audio
There is no way around it,
As for the Air, I own or owned every Mac, its my favorite Apple product out of 6 Macs I currently own.

  • How to turn off sound in twitter app when I scroll down?

I know there must be an easy way to do this, but I can't find it. I have twitter notification sounds turned off, which is what I want. Inside the twitter app, though, when I scroll down to see new tweets, I get a sort of suck-then-pop sound. I don't need that sound and would like to turn it off, as it irritates my spouse if she's nearby while I'm checking twitter.
Phone is iPhone 5, iOS 8.1.3

Depends if the window has a separate volume control or not.  You can have multiple QuickTime movies running with the sound muted in some but not others - just slide the volume all the way down in the ones you don't want to hear.
Other than that, I don't know of a way.

  • Turn off presentation mode in ipad when connected to projector

Hi, I'd like to present the features of Neu. Annotate from my ipad.  The problem is when I plug into the projector the ipad goes into presentation mode and the audience cannot see the tool bar.  I need them to see the tool bar to understand the app.  Any suggestions?

I had the same problem today in front of an audience with 300 people (MacbookPro OSX 10.10, Thunderbolt-VGA adapter, PPT 14.4.6).
Here what I figured out so far:
    1. It happens when you have PPT open and connect to beamer afterwards
    2. You can resolve it (in my case) by quitting PPT and launching it WHEN connected to beamer
    3. Yet, make sure Mac does not go into sleep mode or you get a lock-screen in the waiting time. if you do so, you get back to square 1. quit PPT again 2. restart it.
    4. Also.... in one case I had to hit the volume control once to get the sound back even though movie was playing
So in short: Connect to beamer first, then launch PPT
I know it is only a symptom fix but it worked for me

  • How to Turn Off Screen, but NOT Auto-Lock phone?

I have an iPhone 5S.  I have auto-lock set to 5 minutes.  I often want to shut the screen for a short period (less than 5 minutes) to conserve the battery and to put it in my pocket while making sure I don't do something on the phone.  As such, I press the sleep button at the top.  No matter how quickly I turn the phone back on (by pressing the sleep button again) it is now locked.  I find this *very* annoying.  Obviously, the "Sleep button" doesn't just put the phone to sleep, but locks it too *despite* the auto-lock setting.  Is there any way to really just "sleep" the phone withOUT turning on the lock?
    Thank you,
    Stuart

"Sleep" and "lock" are the same thing where an iPhone is concerned. The only other option is passcode lock.
    Best of luck.

  • How to turn off "screen resolution" warning in iPhoto?

I am running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 on a Mac mini (Late 2012), 2.3 GHz, 4 GB memory, iPhoto version 9.5.1 (902.17). I get the "screen resolution not optimal for iPhoto" warning repetitively about once every 15 minutes as long as iPhoto is running. I have set the resolution to my preference and I don't mind seeing this warning once when I start iPhoto, but it gets annoying. How can I set iPhoto to stop doing this?

Is there a reason, why you do not update to the Yosemite compatible version iPhoto 9.6? I never get the warning, you are reporting, if the iPhoto window can fit the screen, with MacOS X 10.10.2 and iPhoto 9.6.1.

Why does my ipone go blank after i dial a number?  Is there a screen saver option?

You mean when you hold it up to your face to talk? It's supposed to do that so you don't press buttons with your cheek... If you are on speakerphone or headphones, the screen will dim, then blank after a short time to save battery.
