How to turn off sound in twitter app when I scroll down?

I know there must be an easy way to do this, but I can't find it. I have twitter notification sounds turned off, which is what I want. Inside the twitter app, though, when I scroll down to see new tweets, I get a sort of suck-then-pop sound. I don't need that sound and would like to turn it off, as it irritates my spouse if she's nearby while I'm checking twitter.
Phone is iPhone 5, iOS 8.1.3

Depends if the window has a separate volume control or not.  You can have multiple QuickTime movies running with the sound muted in some but not others - just slide the volume all the way down in the ones you don't want to hear.
Other than that, I don't know of a way.

    As already provided:
Flip the Ring/Silent switch. There is no other setting.

    debrafromusa,
This would be an extremely bad idea, the start up tone is there for a reason. It tells you when your system is attempting to  boot, it is also necessary in the even resets like a PRAM reset are done. There is software to mask the sound however as stated it is a very poor idea.
Also, why turn it off. Why not simply put the display to sleep when the machine is not in use. You can easily do that in System Preferences - Energy Saver

The only way you can turn it off is to close the lid - so you would need an external wired or wireless keyboard and mouse/trackpad attached.

miniDisplay to HDMI : How to turn off the Dual Monitor output when the adapter is attached and the TV is off ? And will keeping the adapter connected even if it is not in use, cause damage to the adapter ?

I have my external monitor/tv setup of the left. If I leave the adapter attached with the TV off, I am still able to cross the border/boundry of my MBP screen ! As instead of detecting a TV, the MBP is detecting the adapter as a screen. I do not want to damage my thunderbolt/miniDisplay port by plugging and unpluggin the unit each and every time.

  • How to turn off autoplay in iPod app on an iPad

    Hi Everyone,
I want to use my new iPad as a backing track player for my duo cover band. We've been doing this for months with my MBP and you can just uncheck each song in a playlist to keep iTunes from automatically playing the next song in the playlist. I can't find a way to do this on the iPad. I'd also like to be able to stop the iPad from automatically playing a song by tapping its name in the playlist. That could quite embarrassing if you accidentally stopped playing an existing song in the middle and started up a new one. I found TraxxPad, which is an app for using the iPad for this purpose, but it doesn't have feature that shows the run time and time remaining while a song is playing, which is a really useful feature.
The iPod on the iPad would be fine if there was a way in preferences to turn off these 2 features. Does Apple not think that maybe sometimes you might want to listen to just one song without the next song in the playlist automatically playing?
    Thanks for your help.

  • How to turn off sound Ipaq mini when charging

I still kepp My Ipaq mini on , then I turn off screen only. Plugin charge . But later , It make noisy short sound , and repeat all time un till i disconect charge  . Even I Power off , I paq automatic on again and sounding while charging . I don;t want to minimum sound from setting. But I want to disable that sound . Someone help?

I have to agree this is the most annoying thing about the iPhone.  The chirp when it charges.  I had a situation the other night where my phone was on analog roam (uses a lot of power) and ever couple of minutes it would chirp (assume it was because it found a network, charged, and then went analog and discharged and the cycle repeated!!).
The phone was next to my bed since I use it as an alarm clock.  Basically using the mute switch toatally makes the iPhone usesless as an alarm clock which is why it was next to my bed!  Apple seriously needs to fix this issue.
Dear Apple, please make the battery notification sound user selectable.  Thanks.

  • HT1476 how to turn off sound while iPhone is charging?

The chirp noise is totally annoying.
I leave unread mail in my inbox and so that may be why?
Anyway, it makes more noise than any device I've ever owned, and I'm sure there's a setting I can't see to turn it off.
    But how?
