How to turn off TLS in Safari?

Can anyone tell me where I can turn off TLS in Safari (either Windows version or OS X version)?
Thanks.

"Hone Melgren , not sure what your talking about, that command you posted is for the Beta version, not the final release."
You appear to be misunderstanding me here.

The hidden preferences to turn stuff on and off in Safari 4 beta (including coverflow) were found by running a strings command on the Safari binary and running it through grep to find keywords. The URL I've posted is one from one of the people to first find out about it.
Thats what I meant by the command I linked above - the strings command isn't finding your keyword of "DebugSafari4IncludeFlowViewInBookmarksView" in the Safari binary. Therefore your "fix" for Safari Final will not work.
This is confirmed by many people who are attempting to get the tabs back on top by using the same terminal commands to get stuff back they had in Safari 4 beta. And all the commands are not working.
Are you sure you have Safari 4 Final ? I'm going to test your Fix now BTW just to be sure

  • Turn off TLS in Safari?

    Hi,
I asked this over in the Safari for Windows forum as well.
Is there a way to turn off TLS in Safari like you can in IE or Firefox?

    No idea what that is.
Hopefully someone will be along who does.

  • How to turn off tabs in safari

Safari is not spawing new windows, but is spawing new "tabs" instead.  Anyone know how to disable this?  It's very annoying.

Only by not updating. But then you'll start having trouble with apps that require 5.0 or higher.
There may be some 3rd-party browsers in the App Store that support the multiple windows view rather than the tabs.

  • Safari and webmail email alerts - how to turn off?

One of the webmails I use has annoying feature - it alerts me with every incoming email. Safari icon starts to jump at the Dock and a small window appears telling me that I have email!
I have searched my webmail settings but there is no way to turn it off. So there should be one at the Safari or Mac settings but I did not find anything there either! I have turned off pop-ups but apparently this small "thing" that appears is not considered a pop-up.
Can anyone help me how to turn off this distraction?
    Sasha
P.S. My Mac is iMac Intel and Safari is 2.0.4

There is an option under Preferences > Auto-Correction to "Automatically detect email and web addresses." You want that one unchecked. There is also a link inspector, second from the right, with options to enable hyperlinks or make all hyperlinks inactive. Seems contradictory to me & I've found that if a document already has some linked text, changing these preferences doesn't change the existing links. And, if you paste in something with a link the link will still be active.

Does anyone know how to turn off the notifications that pop up in the upper right corner telling you that you have just changed from one configuration to another -- e.g. changing from tent mode to tablet mode?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Just disable it -
Task manager > Startup > Click "Yoga Picks" > Click "disable"
Next time you start your computer no more annoying pop ups.  If you want to be annoyed again you can always re-enable it.

  • I simply want to know how to turn off iCloud* without losing my contacts

Call me old fashioned, but I really do NOT want to use iCloud EXCEPT for ONE THING*: and that's to find my phone, ipad or laptop if it goes missing.
Having said that, I have figured out how to turn off icloud on my ipad and my iphone (I am not using the phone as a phone, just as a glorified ipod) while keeping the "find my ipad/iphone" function active, BUT
I can't quite figure out how to do it on my laptop.
I seem to have done it already for photos, and for the calendar, (I know this from checking iCloud to see what it's got) but just cannot figure out how to turn it off for contacts.
And YES, I've backed up all of those things at LEAST 3 different ways, I just don't want the Cloud to be one of them.
So can anyone tell me how to turn off contacts in the cloud without it also magically deleting them in my laptop? (I had it happen on the ipad, that's why I'm worried.)
Thank you for understanding-I'm older and this stuff just keeps getting more complicated and I'm a simple person. I'll back up my own stuff!

If you are refering to documents such as Pages and Numbers files....
The only way around this is to "save as" you icloud documents using the associated app to a local folder on your mac.  Then turn off icloud.
Of course, when you sign off of icloud, the docs are removed from the mac, but remain in icloud.  In the future when you sign back in, the documents are available to you again.
Oh, and the icloud documents are also stored locally in ...
    ~/Library/Mobile Documents
Note that Library in the user's home folder is now hidden, so you'll have to set Finder to view hidden files.
The Mobile Documents folder has subfolder where copies of the doc/data files are stored.
You can move these files to another folder to save them.

  • I'm using same icloud and same apple ID on two iphones. Now i get calls from same number on both iphones at the same time. How to turn off that?

I'm using same icloud and same apple ID on two iphones. Now i get calls from same number on both iphones at the same time. How to turn off that?

Apple ID's are not device specific, so when you changed it on the iPad 2 it changed it on the iPhone 4 as well, since it's the same account still. What you need to do is create a second Apple ID (so you'll have two accounts, one for iPhone 4 and a seperate one for iPad 2).
To create a new Apple ID on your iPad 2:
    1) Go into Settings > Store.
    2) If you are already signed in, tap your Apple ID on the screen and you will be given a few options, one of which is to sign out of your account.
    3) After you sign out, now click the "Sign in" button.
    4) Tap "Create New Apple ID" and follow the instructions on-screen.
