How to turn off tone that sounds when importing is done?

Hello,
Is it possible to stop iTunes from making the sound it does after I've imported a cd?
I have Windows XP media center, and I went to the "Sounds and Audio Devices" folder in Control Panel, but it seems only Microsoft programs are listed there.
Thanks!
Dan

According to Apple support, you cannot remove the phone on the device list under "find my iphone" until you turn it off and it goes offline.  (It also says the device will go back on "find my iphone" when it goes online again, which seems to mean you can successfully remove it, but as soon as you turn it back on it will be back on the list, and thus you will not be able to restore it.)  It's a bit of a conundrum.  In my case I couldn't for some reason turn off my phone  with the home/sleep buttons - nothing happens, the phone stays on.  While on a chat with Apple support, they got my iphone offline (I was able to turn it off by pressing the sleep button and swiping where the red "turn off iphone" arrow would have appeared) and removed it from "find my phone", but when I reconnected to itunes it turned on and reappeared in the "find my phone" list.  Luckily, the screen suddenly appeared (it had done this several times yesterday, just briefly), so I was able to turn off "find my device" from the phone.  I was then able to restore.  Unfortunately, this does not answer the question of how to remove the device from "find my iphone" and keep it off while connecting with itunes to restore (unless you have my good fortune of having the screen suddently reappear).  Apple support seemed puzzled that it had reappeared on the device list under "find my iphone".  Time will tell whether the restoration fixes the blank screen issue.

how to turn off camera shutter sound on iphone5?

You're getting different answers because different countries have different rules. In some places Apple is allowed to turn off the camera sound when the device is put on mute. In others, because of privacy concerns, Apple is not allowed to do so. Whenther you can or not depends on where you are. If mute doesn;t do it for you, you probably cannot turn it off.

  • How to turn off volume adjustment sound under Windows 7

    Hey all,
I'm running Windows7 x64 on an Intel iMac (July 2010 revision).
Things are running well for the most part. However, I am unable to find a way to turn off the blooping sound played when adjusting the volume in Windows 7 (I know how to turn it off in OS X). I have tried turning off all system sounds under Windows, but the volume adjustment sound still plays. Does anyone know how to turn this off? I find it jarring. I would appreciate any help that anyone can give.
    Thanks.

That too bad because I use the MBP to do my radio show and it's very annoying. I know you can turn it off on the mac side.

  • How to turn off this new sound?

This just started this week.  I have not adjusted any settings for quite a while so I am pretty sure I did not do anything to cause it.
Since getting my Note 3 in October I use the voice method of inputting text for email and sms quite often.  When starting a message where I want to voice inpput, I click the microphone button and speak what I want to send.  Works well.  Thursday the phone started making a loud, very annoying, beep type sound whenever I launch this by clicking the microphone.  It happens even when the phone is in silent mode.  I checked the sound options in the phone settings and everything is set as it has always been. All system and keyboard sounds are turned off. I also tried another keyboard app rather than the phone default and it is the same with that.
Does anyone have an idea why this started and how to silence it?  Thanks!

Might try setting defaults by long pressing the microphone then the settings gear icon and then scroll down to Reset Settings. I haven't messed around with most of those settings and it works as desired with the beep only on when not in silent mode. I like the beep to be on personally because when I'm not able to look at the phone I know its ready to listen. Otherwise it doesn't beep if the global sound is turned off. I guess that might solve half the problem and of course you would have to set back your preferences that get reset.  As for settings getting changed  I know one thing is sometimes if I rotate the phone with the screen on and accidentally touch the screen at the same time then any number of random things can happen such that I'm considering turning off auto-rotate on turning down the screen sensitivity.

  • HT1677 How to turn off HuffPo Live sound which auto overrides everything

Ever since I dowloaded the update to my operating system, Huff Po Life sound comes on and overrides other programs with dueling audio.  I did not sign up for HuffPo Life, and have no idea how to turn it off.

Photoshop will place an image or Smart Object according to its size in inches/cm/etc, not its size in pixels.
When enabled, the "resize" preference only prevents placed objects from being larger than the canvas by resizing appropriately when necessary.
To prevent a placed raster object from being resampled, ensure it has the same pixel density (ppi) as the receiving document. The "resize" preference will need to be disabled to prevent oversize objects being downsampled.

  • How to turn off Facebook Notification Sounds?

I just discovered that I cannot turn off Sounds for Facebook integration in Notification Centre on Mountain Lion.
All the other services I use - Photo Stream, Messages, Reminders, etc. - have three options to check off. "Show in Notification Centre," "Badge app icon," and "Play sound when receiving notifications." I have the third option unchecked for all services, but Facebook does not even display this option. Yet, in the sidebar, I can see that "Badges, Sounds, Banners" are enabled under Facebook.
Why does Facebook appear to offer more restricted integration options?

Have you looked in the settings and notifications and turned it off there?

  • How to turn off linking on folder when publishing it as portlet

when I publish a folder as a portlet. The display name of the

under the name rather than have a link on the name. It confuses
the users and looks weird. How do I turn it off?

You'll have to wait for the next release. The only solution in

  • How to turn off annoying ad sound/music on firefox whenever I open a website

Hello I was hoping that I could get help with ad music that play whenever I open a new webside. It happens if I want to open a new website after being on the previous website after about a minute. I identify the source, I believe thanks to internet download manager at: http://newlotto.pch.com/images/games/113/201408_progressive_daytime_package/sounds/lc_corkpop.mp3. I am no longer subscribed to publishers clearing house btw and I tried many solutions here such as the adblock and I did the trick, "about:config" & "plugins.click_to_play" And I also did an Anti-Malware scan with no such luck. The good new - if you can call it that is that it only happens whenever I used firefox and not my other browsers.
I hope I cane get a solution to this.
    Thanks!

Thanks, neosp. By resetting firefox, it was enough to get rid of that sound/music. I wish I thought of that sooner. Thanks for replying as well, cor-el. I will keep that in mind.
I'm so glad I came here.
    Thanks!

  • How to turn off brush size dialog when holdng stylus on tablet.

Yesterday I signed up to try the latest version of Photoshop (CC) from previously working in CS6.
There is a new behavior that when I hold down my stylus for more than a half-second or so on my tablet, a swirling circle icon appears and then a floating brush size dialog pops up.
I can't stand this, and want to turn it off or at least edit the settings, but I can't find anything in preferences about it.
PS CS6 does not have this behavior with the same tablet, so I think it has to do with Photoshop.
    Any ideas?

Thanks for your reply. Yep, it's engaged. That button is very important to me. lol
This definitely seems like a Photoshop CC feature, not a tablet issue.
Here is a screenshot of what I mean:
That white circle in the upper left corner of the box comes up and "loads" the dialog when I press down on the tablet with my stylus. I just updated my tablet drivers last week.
This does not happen in Photoshop CS6, which I still have installed and have been using prior to this trial of CC.
Basically, I would at least like to increase the delay time of how long it takes for me to hold down my stylus before this behavior happens, if not disable it altogether. I don't have  the need for this feature and it gets in my way constantly.

    Ah, the sound of Silence!
Control Panel > icon view > Sound > Click the Sounds Tab
Here you can either Select something far less irritating than whatever is bugging you now
    OR
You can scroll down through the list and selct "No Sounds"
    For Windows 7:
Also!  Remember to UNCHECK "Play Windows Startup sound"
