How to turn on Bluetooth via Fn-F5 on Thinkpad SL400 in Windows 8 Consumer Preview ?

I don't know how to enable bluetooth device then install driver for my Thinkpad SL400. It seem to be hotkey function not working well. Anybody know how to solve this issue, please help !

The wireless device setting can be done from Fn+F5
To work function key works with Power Manager software.
If the Windows 7 software can install on Windows 8 then you can enable the wireless devices else you need to wait for the Windows 8 software
Best Regards,
Tanuj

  • How to Get Your Inkjet Printer Working with Windows 8 Consumer Preview

The drivers for your HP Inkjet Printer are already included in the new Windows 8 Consumer Preview!
You do not need to download drivers to use the product. Keep reading to learn how to install the print driver included in Windows 8 Consumer Preview with your HP printer.
Getting started in Windows 8 Consumer Preview
HP designed a quick and easy tool that helps you find the best driver for your printer in Windows 8 Consumer Preview: the HP Printer Install Wizard.
Download Printer Install Wizard for Windows 8 Consumer Preview
NOTE:The HP Printer Install Wizard is not available for all printer. This tool is available only for Windows 8 Consumer Preview. The HP Printer Install Wizard works with products connected with a USB cable or with a wired (Ethernet) or wireless network connection. If you would like to connect your product wirelessly, but it is not yet on a wireless network, you need to temporarily connect the product with a USB cable to run the wizard.
Step one: Download the HP Printer Install Wizard
    1.   Click the following link to download the Printer Install Wizard:
    HP Diagnostic Utilites
    2.   When the tool finishes installing, click Finish. The wizard opens automatically.
Step two: Run the HP Printer Install Wizard
    1.   Press the Power button  to turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
    2.   Connect the USB cable to the HP printer and to the computer, if it is not already connected.
    3.   Make sure that your computer has an internet connection. The wizard must access the internet to work correctly.
    4.   Click Next to begin the utility. The wizard displays a list of detected printers.
    5.   If the wizard detects more than one printer, select your HP printer from the list.
    6.   The wizard automatically displays the best available driver for your HP printer.
If a full feature driver is available, the wizard detects it. Click Next to download and install the software. For full functionality, HP recommends installing the full feature driver if it is available.
If an included print driver is available, the wizard explains that the driver is already installed. It will also supply a link to more information about using an included driver.

I just bought Satellite U500-1F5 and I want to know how to turn on the bluetooth?

    Hi
    Install BT stack.
Then enable the BT using FN + F8
Now you should see the BT icon in the taskbar.
Right click the BT icon in the tray bar and select Add New Connection.
It is also possible to launch Bluetooth Settings and then click the 'New Connection button'.
Then you can choose Express Mode.
Note; BT should be enabled on the external device (which you want to pair) too.
Then you have to choose this device (should be visible in BT window of the BT stack)
Then pair both devices using an passkey (i.e 1111)
    Thats all

  • Command to turn off Bluetooth via ARD

I'd like to turn off Bluetooth and Airport via ARD on all of my Macs (all running Leopard) that don't need them.
I can do this for Airport using networksetup -setairportpower off, but I can't find a similar command for Bluetooth. I don't really want to completely disable it so I'd like to leave the kernel extensions intact, just turn it off. Does such a command exist?

you can install bueutil on all macs and use that.

I don't know any other way to turn bluetooth off/on from command line.

  • Hi, how to turn on bluetooth on my new i-Pad2?

I'm trying to pair my Apple wireless keyboard. Turning the bluetooth option will show the bluetooth symbol gray out at the top of the i-Pad and can not connect any devices. Please help.

it is best to do the initial pairing from the BT area in settings.  (on general screen). when you select BT, it will begin to search for available devices.  The device also has to be on, and in discoverable mode.  When the two find each other, the device will be listed on that screen, and the two will try to pair.  In a lot of cases - you will get a message to enter a code on the device or your ipad keyboard to finish the pairing.  Once they are paired, you should not need to do that step again, although sometimes you may need to 'search' for the device.
Note Meg's answer above - if you have the older white keyboard, you are out of luck.
Lastly - not related to your question - if you are using a BT keyboard, and at some point bump a key (like if you are carrying it around) - it may start up the ipod function, and you will get music coming out of your briefcase.  IOf you are done using your BT keyboard - remember to turn it off!

  • Turn off bluetooth via applescript when power is disconnected

    Hello all
I've been fallowing this older thread here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2109999
I've followed the instructions of the post, but when I run the script I get this
    error:
    Usage: grep [OPTION]... PATTERN [FILE]...
Try `grep --help' for more information.
sh: line 1: Applications: command not found
Does anyone know if there is an updated version of this type of script or
    if this can be corrected?
    Thanks

    Hello
I'm afraid that the code by Michael Henley in the referred thread has been altered by the fora software introduced in 2007. Perhaps the ac_power() handler should be read as -
    to ac_power()
(do shell script "pmset -g | grep \\*") starts with "AC Power"
    end ac_power
    Good luck,
    H

  • How to completely turn off Bluetooth and Wireless

    Hey everybody,
I'm running Windows XP SP3 via Boot Camp and I was wondering if anyone can assist me in how to completely turn off Bluetooth and Wireless connectivity so that I can reserve as much batter life while being in class taking notes without a plug-in source, but not uninstall. I know there is a Bluetooth control panel and I disabled it there but under "connect to" its still remains there. Basically I want to have the Bluetooth and Wireless turned off completely when I startup and still have the icons shown in the taskbar to let me know that they are still there.
    Thanks!

Joergen Thomson, I can see that you have the same thoughts like I do, I wish they could release a software that is stable and better then this.
I dont have the energi or time to report all flaus back to cisco, this product have taking to much of my time and frustration already. Thank you so much for all the time you spend to try get this product stable and hopefully a good product.
I have a costumer that have a webservice that is IP restricted, For now I have to define more then 93 policys openening for the same service because this doesnt handle address list and groups. And all the times I had to set it back to factory default becasue of HTTP Admin server stopped, VPN Problem, Firmware Upgrades, "Packet Loss" and so on takes alot of time becasue I need to reconfig policies back.
For now to they release a firmware is stable I have take this piece off the network and put the back a old Fortinet 60 box.

  • How do I send Ringtones via Bluetooth to my Razr? HELP!

I have been trying unsuccessfully to send mp3 files via BT to my T-Mobile Razr to use as Ringtones. While I know that this was discussed before, the details of how to do it were never featured in the threads I've checked. Has anyone had success with this and, if so, can someone let me in on the secret?
I've gotten as far as sending the file to my phone but get an error message after the file transfer is 100% complete. Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.
    iMac 20 1.25GHz, 1.42Ghz iBook 14-Inch   Mac OS X (10.4.3)   LaCie 160GB HD, iSight, Canon ZR200 and A70, HP PSC 1610, 2 Airport Expresses

First of all make sure the file you want to send is a compatable format e.g. (.mp3). When it is click on the bluetooth menu bar icon ( or go to bluetooth file exchange in utilities if it isnt there) click on send file select the file and click send then (if your phone is not paired) turn the Bluetooth on on your RAZR and click search on your mac once your phone comes up select it and click send. You may have to accept the fiile on your phone.
Hope this works, any problems just reply.
