How to turn on continuous scrolling in iBooks 2.2?

I've installed iBooks 2.2, but can't find a way to turn on continuous scrolling.

There was a slight "glitch" in the Appstore last night (well in the UK anyway) whereby the iBooks update that initially got served up was the last one (2.2). Seemed it got put right by this morning.

How to turn off CTRL+scroll zoom in the grid view of Lightroom?

Please help - I'm working with a big catalogue, where I have to do a lot of scrolling and keywording. I'm new to Windows machine (corporate), and having a problem when I want to hold CTRL and scroll down (to individually select more photos), it only zooms in and out...
Then if I release ctrl, there is always a risk to slip and lose the previous selection. When the workflow is thousands of photos to wade through, it is not fun at all and a waste of time.
There must a be a way of turning it off!

If you wish to keep the CTRL key pressed and scroll up or down a grid list, just use the mouse on the scroll bar on the RH side of the grid.
To zoom you need to press CTRL and +/-.
If you press the CTRL key and try to use the up/down arrow keys to scroll it will increase/decrease the flag status of the currently selected image.

How to turn off continuous play of podcasts?

I know this should be a simple answer, but I can't find it anywhere. Thanks in advance for an answer.
I want my podcasts to stop playing in between each episode, but they don't. I don't have the shuffle or repeat icons selected. The same thing happens with songs - when one ends the next one immediately begins playing.
How do I control this? Is it a setting in iTunes or on the iPod. I'm experiencing this with iTunes 8 on an iPhone 3G.

It seems a lot of people are saying this is an iPhone 2.1 introduced 'feature'. For me, it is workign this way on an iPod Classic and, as others have noted, a big pain. For me, it seemed to have started with the release of iTunes 8.
IF I could load the iPod with podcasts in the reverse order, with older ones at the top of the list it wouldn't be so bad but when I have several older podcasts to listen to and work myself UP the list, only to have it jump DOWN the list, to a show that has already been played, when a podcast finishes, is WRONG. Please fix it Apple!

How to turn off automatic scrolling to top of Browser list?

I'm having an issue in Aperture 3.2.1 that I've found to be very annoying. I'm curious if there's a way to disable this particular behavior. Opening an image from the Browser view causes the Browser list to scroll to the top upon closing the image. In other words, if I double-click a picture in the middle of the Browser, view it, and then double-click again to return to the Browser, the thumbnail I just viewed is displayed at the top of the screen (the list scrolls automatically instead of returning to the previous list position). This is frustrating when comparing similar images, because I have to scroll back up to see the related thumbnails. I guess I just don't feel that the Browser interface should revert to a different view unless I asked it to do so.
Scouring the Internet and these forums, I only came across one post that described this issue. It was apparently unresolved. The thread can be viewed here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2714848
Is there a way to change this behavior in Aperture, or is it something I'm going to have to live with?

Haha, that's OK, CalxOddity. It took me a while to notice the behavior to begin with, as not all of my projects have enough pictures to produce a scrollbar.
Léonie, I think the random effect you're seeing may depend on the size of the album or project you're viewing. The selected image needs to be "deep enough" in the list to revert to the top row, or else the scrollbar bottoms out. Kinda the same thing when dealing with projects that are small enough to not require scrollbars.
I suppose this is something I'll learn to live with, since it appears that everyone else is observing the same behavior. See, I'm coming from using Photoshop and Finder individually to manage my photos, and I do an awful lot of comparison viewing. Icon view in the Finder, along with Quick Look, made this job really easy. Quick Look in Aperture would be awesome...

I was afraid this was the case. To the degree that Apple marches down this well-travelled road towards making money by trying to pound customers into submission with flashing ads, etc. that actually serve only to aggravate and drive away at least people like me (28 year user of macs) from both Apple and whatever is being advertised, and indeed get in the way of my being able to efficiently do what is my part of what I always thought was the core of the synergism between Apple and its customers -- them innovating to provide the best tools to help us to be creative and productive, then the company will find itself sharing that space with myriad other companies so bankrupt for ideas and innovation that they have no other possible strategy that to promote mindless consumerism. That does not seem a place of strength for Apple and a complete forfeiting of its unique position. Sad to watch.

For all they wont use a etoken to surf.
Go to extras, options then extendet and go to cryptographic module and unload the etoken. To unload the etoken you must selekt etoken not the name of the token.

How to change Preview's Full screen default setting from "two-pages" to "continuous scroll"

I am using OS X mavericks on my mid 2013 Air.
I usually need to open multiple PDFs during my work and I prefer to put them all in full screen for easy swapping. I was able to change the setting which allowed me to open PDFs in "continuous scroll". However, the PDFs became two-pages display again when I put them into full screen and I can't find any setting which allow me to change the full screen default display mode. Is there a way to do it or it is simply not possible.? Could Apple just add an option for us to change it? Thanks in advance for any help.

You may also need to reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

Can I set to single page view instead of continuous scrolls in Preview?

I just don't like and feel uncomfortable to view the PDF in continuous scrolls mode. however, it is set to be default in Preview of Lion.
How could I change the defaut setting to make it open in single page view instead of continuous scrolls mode?

hmm - I have the same problem - meaning each time I open a preview file it defaults to continous scroll, which for whatever reason, I hate. So each fiel I have to use the view menu to change that particual view to single page. It seems if I quite that file and reopen it on the smae computer it will open in single page view. But any new documents default to the hated continuous scroll view
It sounds like your machine defaults to single page. I assume youa re also usig the latest Lion release. So there must be a way to change the default view of Preview, but I can't seem to find the setting

Not sure what you are wanting to do, but if you do not want to be signed into iCloud on your device, you would do that by deleting the iCloud account that is signed in on that device: Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and press the delete button. Type in the Apple ID/iCloud password, and then answer each prompt until it is complete.
This is done directly on the device. There is no way to "turn off" iCloud on your device via a computer, unless you wipe the device and remove it from your iCloud account under the Find My iPhone app, but that requires that you wipe the device before you can remove it:

Pop up usually meant that icloud activation lock is still on on Apple servers. In order to deactivate you need to turn icloud back on by signing in and then sign out properly. For your sake I hope that you know the password.

How to get rid of scrolling in stacks

How can I either:
#1. Turn OFF the scrolling function in stacks
or
#2. Resize the icons so they all fit without scrolling.
I used to use stacks as a quick launcher. This worked great on my 15 inch MBP, both standalone and when docked with a 30" monitor, as well as on my 22" Mac Pro at home. Click the stacks, and I would get an instant overview of all my apps, or documents, and instantly choose what I wanted.
With this recent "refinement", it now takes me longer, and I have to manually position the mouse over a scroll bar to see all of the content.
So for me, this was actually LESS user friendly. Is there anywhere I can modify this new default setting, to get rid of this thing.
Anyone know how?

But this is just my point. I DON'T have tons of stuff in these folders. That's why it's annoying.
The problem is that the icons are HUGE. Waaay bigger than they needed to be. Why can't there be an option to have them auto-resize?? Or at least make them smaller. Now they are almost too big to read comfortably.
I know SL supports greater icon resolution than Leopard, but I'm not THAT nearsighted (or farsighted... forget which one)

How to turn of HTML tags in Email Messages?

My BB8830 World Edition on Verizon continues to show full html tags - e.g. <http://www.oracle.com/dm/global/opn.gif> - instead of just the link, which makes any email with links extremely difficult to read as the full html tags display in the middle of a sentence or para.
Any idea how to turn this off?

You'll have to wait for Verizon to release OS 4.5 for your device. Once you upgrade your device, you will be able to view HTML email.
There are also third party packages (that you'd have to pay for) available to read HTML email, but the OS should be available within the next few months. Then again it is Verizon, and they tend to drag their heels on updates, so....
