  • How to turn off external display?

    Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a way to turn off a second display without unplugging the hdmi cable. If it can be done programmatically, then that would be great.
There is a bug where if you shut down and restart, then mission control adds the second display to the main display.
    Thanks,
    kel

  • WebVPN using External Authentication

I have a VPN concentrator 3005 that is configured for WebVPN which works great if I login with a local user.
I would like to authenticate my users through our LDAP. I created a SSLusers group that is setup for external authentication. The SSLusers group works fine when I use the Cisco VPN client to connect (I enter the group name/password in the text boxes, when it connects it asks for the username/password).
In the logs it shows that it is checking for the user in the Internal server, I want to point it to my ACS box. I feel like there is a check box somewhere that I am missing that tells the concentrator 'if I can't find the user in my local database, check the external authentication server'.
Any advice on how to get the external authentication working with the WebVPN would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Daniel for the suggestion. I tried to add the above, but still received the same error. Is there an additional checkbox that needs to be marked for the base group to search the radius server?
Authentication rejected: Reason = User was not found
    handle = 686, server = Internal, user = bobeldde, domain =
It appears to work ok if I login with 'bobeldde#ssl';where the ssl group is configured for Radius Authentication.

  • How to turn off display while connected to external monitor??

I'm running my macbook into an external monitor, using wireless mouse and keyboard. I want to get full power from my graphics card so would like to know how to turn the macbook screen off while connected to the larger monitor. I have read that simply closing the lid and then waking it with the mouse will work, however wont this activate the screen as well while the lids closed? Any advice would be great!
    Thanks
    Phil

    Hi Philip
    here is the link:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300562
And it won't turn the built screen on since macbook has sensor to prevent it turn on while it closed.
    Good Luck.

  • How to turn of logging on external tables

    Greetings,
I have created an external table but am unable to see how to turn off logging. I don't care about the bad and the discards, etc., I want to completely eliminate the writing to a log file as I read from the table. Is this possible and if so how? Hopefully I have stated the problem clearly.
    Thanks.

    Read/search the docs?
    For example:

Is this possible and if so how?Omit whatever you don't want or need...it's just that simple...

  • How do i connect external hard drive

Was trying to copy mp3 audio book into I tunes library which I think I have on an external drive.  I kept getting failures that said could not access drive.  I know I could see the drive on my desktop.  Itunes would only copy some of the flies (about half) So I tried to eject drive.I don't  use the mac that much which is obvious.
1 Now I don't remember how to reconnect the external drive to mac. Its physically conected
2 no sure if I hosed up time machine
3 still don't know why could not get all the files to load in itunes (103 mp3)
    Anyone?

Well drive came back but  same
1st error says" the disk was not properly ejected, always eject before unplugging."  ( I never turn off the drive)  Its a Free agent brand drive
2nd error says"attempting to copy to the disk "Free Agent Drive" failed. This disk could not be written to."
I think I've actually got itunes configured to have my music library on the Free Agent drive.  But I dont know enough to check it.
Seems its issue with drive bt dont know how to address.

  • How to attach an external USB drive read-only

I would like to hook up an external USB hard drive and would like to do so in such a manner as to ensure that absolutely nothing is modified on the drive at all. Is there some way I can specify this before I connect the drive or while I plug it in? (e.g. hold down the shift key or something like that.) I have found all sorts of posts from folks who wanted to know how to turn off read-only mode, but haven't had much luck finding out how to turn it on.
I noticed recently when I plugged in a USB stick that it sat and blinked for some time. I'm guessing that OS X was busy indexing the drive. I'm not sure if the index was written back to the USB stick, or cached somewhere locally. If it was written back to the USB stick, I would like to prevent this from happening when I plug in a real drive.
Thanks for any tips you can give me.
    --wpd

If the drive is formatted NTFS, it will automatically mount read-only. If it is formatted HFS+ or FAT, I don't know of any way to external drives to mount read-only without installing OS X Server for $500.

  • PHP external authentication issue

Trying to login to AFCS connection using external authentication.
PHP file generates a key correctly and everything seems to fine up until i get to using the key inside flex.
at the login stage i get the following error in the console trace from the library login call
As far as i can tell everything is right... how can i tell what is wrong with the authentication key?
    AFCS Beta Build # : 1.1
    requestInfo https://connectnow.acrobat.com/{roomname}?exx=eDp7dXRmOF9lbmNvZGUoZGFyaXVzKX06OmRtOmFnZW50ZG06aHR0cHM6Ly9jb25uZWN0bm93LmF jcm9iYXQuY29tL2hpaW50ZXJmYWNlL2RtOjEwMDo4N2NmNWUwMjIzZTVhMmFkYzI2MmY4MDVlNWJmMWVlM2Y4OTJlY 2Qx&mode=xml&x=0.2519759591668844
    #THROWING ERROR# bad authentication key

There are a few mistakes in the key. There is some PHP 'code' in it (wrong string expansion ?) and you are using a full URL instead of the room name.
If you want more details send me a private message, but you should check the way you call the get authentication token method.

  • AD External Authentication Plug-In verification issue

We are working on a Proof of Concept instance to integrate MS AD with OID for the first time for E-Biz 11i.
    1) I completed the bulk load of all the existing users from AD to OID successfully
    2) completed enabling the syncrhonization profile
    3) Ran the txkrun.pl successfully
    4) However i wanted to check the External authentication plug-in and i get the below issue.
How to debug ldapcompare ? Where is the logfile for ldapcompare ?
    ldapcompare -h OID_Host -p 389 -D "cn=orcladmin" -w ******* -b "cn=lastname\, firstname,ou=consultants,ou=users,ou=usaeast,dc=adadmin,dc=lps,dc=netsrv,dc=us" -a userPassword -v abcdefgh
The value abcedefgh is not contained in the attribute userPassword in DN cn=lastname\, firstname,ou=consultants,ou=users,ou=usaeast,dc=adadmin,dc=lps,dc=netsrv,dc=us.
An ldapbind on the same AD server is successful, but ldapcompare is failing.

I get invalid credentials. Though the network password is correct. I feel its somewhere i messed up the 3rd party plug-in configuration. Is there a method to get debug information for ldapcompare command ?
    From metalink NOTE : 277382.1
"When using the above command, ldapcompare binds to OID using the OID admin user (typically "cn=orclAdmin") and password. Then it provides the AD username and requests that the value supplied as AD-USER-PASSWORD be compared to whatever is stored in AD username's userPassword attribute. Because OID does not store a value in its own user entries/userPassword attributes for AD-synchronized entries, this ldapcompare call will cause OID to invoke the plug-in and verify the userPassword value in AD instead.
If the plug-in works, the ldapcompare should return a message saying that the given password is contained in the userpassword attribute, e.g.
    "

The only way you can turn it off is to close the lid - so you would need an external wired or wireless keyboard and mouse/trackpad attached.

  • How to turn off hard disk identification in LR 3.3?

    Hi!
I have a problem with LR 3.3 on my Windows XP. I have a lot of harddisk (1TB, 2TB SATA2, made by Samsung) in my XP system with my RAW photos, all encrypted by Truecrypt. When I need to import my existings photos from that secured harddisk (Truecrypt is the best tool i have tested), LR 3.3 is blocking option Move and Add in Import dialog.
I must duplicate my photos by Copy options only - like from memory card.
LR 3.3 is thinking, that my encrypted harddisks are my memory cards, and is disable Add and Move option.
How to turn that bad identyfication off?
And in the end, every time when I want to import photos - LR 3.3 is searching all my TB harddisks (more then 30 minutes) to create and show my thumbs in folders - and I can not stop this searching. How to turn it off too?
    Regards

    Remisteness,
There are a few things to mention regarding your problem:
    1) Scanning all of the Drive(s) after Starting Import
Right after the import dialog opens, try to click onto an internal drive as soon as possible and uncheck "Include Subfolders". This should prevent the scanning of the drive(s).
    2) What is presented to the O/S for an Encrypted Device
Obviously, your encryption software presents the "virtual" drives as removable devices to the operating system, which leads LR to treat them as "Cards".
I have a similar software in use to access encrypted data in "Container Files" (SafeGuard PrivateDisk). In SafeGuard PrivateDisk, I can configure how a "virtual" drive is presented to the Operating System, either as a removable device or as a simulated harddisk. If I choose "Simulate Harddisk", the "virtual" drive is represented like a harddisk in my WinXP and LR does not show it as a removable device, hence without the restriction imposed on "Cards" during import.
    3) Restrictions imposed by LR while Importing from "Cards"
LR prevents users from moving photos when directly accessing a memory card, because if a file would get corrupted during import no valid copy of the image would exist anywhere anymore. Also, adding photos residing on a real memory card does not make sense either, as too many users would be looking for their original images after disconnecting the (and possibly reformatting) the memory card.
There has been a lengthy discussion in this forum lately on whether it makes sense or not that LR tries to protect users from their own wrong doing. I guess one can see it either way, and the limitations chosen by Adobe kind of protect Adobe from too many questions/accusations.
    4) Workaround for LR 3.3
To be able to add or move from a removable device in LR 3.3, you can do the following:
Create yourself one or two Import Presets, with Add or Move as the action to be performed. You have to create these presets while doing a test-import from a interal or external HDD, and save them from there.
When accessing your removable device, access the drive by clicking onto the drive letter in the drive list below "Files", and not by clicking onto the removable device under "Devices"
Choose one of the Import Presets built in step 1
This will use Move or Add as the action to be performed (note that no action at all will be highlighted), even though you're importing from a "Card".
As this behaviour is a hidden/undocumented feature (or even bug?), we do not know whether this possibility will still be existing in future releases of LR, but for right now it seems to be a workaround.

  • Satellite U500-1F5 - How to turn on Bluetooth?

I just bought Satellite U500-1F5 and I want to know how to turn on the bluetooth?
    thanx in advance

    Hi
    Install BT stack.
Then enable the BT using FN + F8
Now you should see the BT icon in the taskbar.
Right click the BT icon in the tray bar and select Add New Connection.
It is also possible to launch Bluetooth Settings and then click the 'New Connection button'.
Then you can choose Express Mode.
Note; BT should be enabled on the external device (which you want to pair) too.
Then you have to choose this device (should be visible in BT window of the BT stack)
Then pair both devices using an passkey (i.e 1111)
    Thats all

  • External Authentication in 9.0.2

I have an external authentication module with Login Server 3.0.9 and I'm migrating my applications to the new release.
I checked for the ssoauthx.pks package specification and it says that external authentication module is no longer supported with this release. The only way to authenticate my users is to sync with oid.
Is this is the only way to do external authentication?. Are future version of iAS will still depend on OID for authentication?

    Hi Nestor,
Even i am looking for similar solution and thinking of giving you some suggetion....
Oracle 9iAS R2 makes it madatory to use OID (or sync with OID) in SSO architecture.
We are trying to implement plug-in procedure (when_compare_replace) in OID to replace the password comparison for SSO requests. we are planning to check for our cookie to authenticate the user.
but i don't know how exactly this will work...
    hope this helps

  • MiniDisplay to HDMI : How to turn off the Dual Monitor output when..

miniDisplay to HDMI : How to turn off the Dual Monitor output when the adapter is attached and the TV is off ? And will keeping the adapter connected even if it is not in use, cause damage to the adapter ?

I have my external monitor/tv setup of the left. If I leave the adapter attached with the TV off, I am still able to cross the border/boundry of my MBP screen ! As instead of detecting a TV, the MBP is detecting the adapter as a screen. I do not want to damage my thunderbolt/miniDisplay port by plugging and unpluggin the unit each and every time.

  • External Authentication 2106 WLC help

    Hello,
We have setup a 2160 WLC for external authentication so that we can control the look and feel of the web pages a bit better.
I wanted to better understand how to setup the page to handle errors. I'm trying to determine how the errors get posted back to the external web page.
My understanding is that the form is "POST" to the 1.1.1.1, when it redirects to the external web auth due to an error are the values (error codes, redirect url, etc) appended to the query string?
If they are appeded to the query string...what are the variable names we should be looking for?
    Thanks in advance

    Josh,
I would recommend reviewing the source within the Web Authentication templates for info on customizable error codes... available on Cisco.com:
Wireless -> WLCs -> Select a model -> Web Authentication Bundle
