How to turn on iphone4 when holding home wake/sleep button doesn't work?

There is no apple logo on the screen when i holding home and wake/sleep button for more than 15 seconds. I am trying to connect the phone to my laptop, however, there is no reaction on iphone or on laptop.
Can anyone help me with that?

Sometimes the reset can take 20 seconds or longer. How long have you held it? I would just hold it until you see the logo. Is the battery charged? If the battery has had a chance to discharge, you will have to plug the phone in to charge. If it gets to a point, it may turn on by itself. I would use the main charger for this. Also, if this method doesn't work, and it is not being recognized by the computer you may need to make an appointment with the Genius Bar as there could be a hardware defect causing this problem.

The "Use custom settings for history" selection allows to see the current history and cookie settings, but selecting this doesn't make any changes to history and cookie settings.
Firefox shows "Use custom settings for history" as an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made.
If all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".
"Never Remember History" means that Private Browsing is active and "Always use private browsing mode" gets a checkmark.
You need to remove the checkmark on "Always use private browsing mode" to leave Private Browsing mode or chose the "Remember History" setting.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Help! I want to move all my iTunes music, podcasts, etc. from an old PC to a new PC. I set up Home Sharing on both and it works. I followed the steps in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 to the letter. At Step 11, I clicked on Home Sharing on my new PC, then Edit > Select All so I could then import everything to the new computer. No matter what I try, the Import button doesn't work. There are two buttons on the lower right hand side of the iTunes screen - one for Settings and one for Import. The Settings button is clickable but the Import button isn't even live. In other words, I can see it but not click on it. I have double-checked my firewall and it is not the problem. How can I get the Import button to work?
These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have failed to move contacts and calendar items across you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

The type of battery that's in your iPad is quite resilient. However, letting that battery run down completely, and leaving it that way for a few weeks is a quick way of destroying it's useful service life. I suspect that you may need to have it replaced.

I don't think turning off the backup is the best way to go. When this happens to me, it is always a bad file. It's hard, but just watch what's happening, and you'll find out what the issue is. Once, it was a corrupted music file and another time was a bad App. -

Sounds like the button is damaged to me. How old is the phone? If it's still in warranty then contact Apple to have it either fixed or replaced. If it's not then I think the only thing you could do is take it to an electrical repair shop unless you fancy trying to fix it yourself.

My iPhone 5 keeps freezing when I connect to wifi, not just freeze the wifi, but freezes the whole phone and have to hold home and lock button. Locks up completely and instantly when I turn on wifi and connect. Solutions?
1. If you are really on iOS 7.1, you may wish to try upgrading to 8.1.2 which is the latest (basing this on your signature).
2. If updating the phone doesn't help, is this only when you connect to a specific wifi network? Or all wifi networks (including public with no password)? If it is ALL wifi networks, you may have a hardware problem. Genius bar would be the next step.

I have reset my iphone 5c and now it has the apple logo on the screen. Nothing is happening, apart from the screen going off for a few seconds, only to go back to black screen and white apple log.
