How to udate to latest version of Acrobat Pro 9?

Question

I installed new hard drives in my Windows XP computer, and had a computer person run a "Ghost" program to transfer everything over to new drive.   Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 would not work correctly after that, so I have un-installed (and de-activated) the whole thing, and then re-installed (and re-activated) the entire program, starting with version 9.0.0.
I got one message of "Update Available", which downloaded and installed ok.
But then every time after that, I get the message "Update Failed" with "(could not establish connection)" I think as extra reason
However, that is not the only way to get downloads - I can go to the Downloads page
Now, my question is this:   If I have Acrobat Pro 9.2.0 on my computer, can I jump straight to version 9.5.5 (which appears to be the latest)?
Or.... Do I have to download each and every incremental version....?

This has already taken me about 15 hours of work, just attempting to get back to where I started.. !

You need to follow the Quarterly Patch system for Acrobat 9.x
Acrobat 9.2.0 (Quarterly) -> 9.3.0 (Quarterly) -> 9.3.2 (Quarterly) -> 9.3.3 (Quarterly) ->  9.4.0 (Quarterly) -> 9.4.2 (Quarterly) -> 9.4.5 (Quarterly) -> 9.4.6 (Quarterly) -> 9.5.0 (Quarterly) -> 9.5.1 (Quarterly)-> 9.5.2 (Quarterly)-> 9.5.3 (Quarterly)-> 9.5.5 (Quarterly)
