How to uinstall Desktop Manager?

I am having a rough time uninstalling bb desktop manager v. 5.0.1 from an operating system of xp professional. When I go to control panel add/remove programs to remove I get the message "the installation source for this product is not available. Verify the source exists and that you can access it. Been doing some searches online, but nothing has helped so far.  HELP!

You need to have administration permissions on the computer where you are installing BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Otherwise the operating system does not allow to change contents of Program Files directory.
If you are an administrator on your computer, then check the drive C for error.
Open drive C properties, go to Tools and launch "Check" with all checkboxes selected.
The operating system will offer you to start check on the next computer restart - confirm it, and restart your computer.
Please note: this kind of checking/fixing will take significant amount of time. For instance a 250 Gb hard drive needs about 3 hours to complete check operation.
When disk check completes try to install BlackBerry Desktop Software again.

  • How to use Desktop Manager to synchronize several address books?

Customer found on BlackBerry device - address book options - there's 2 Desktop under Address Books. How to specify which address book will be synchronized with outlook via desktop manager as  a wired sync?

Your having this issue, because at first, your blackberry was trying to sync via the BES, then you hooked it up to the desktop manager. The desktop managed then tried to sync the device over the wire via the desktop manager and turned of wireless sync, how do you wanna sync, wirelessly, or through the BES?
If you wanna do it through the BES, you have to delete desktop cmime, desktop sync and desktop cical and resent those from the server to get wireless sync back.
to get to servic book, go to settings/options/advanced options/service book and scroll to these service books and delete them, then from the bes manager, repush service books will resent them, this  can take up to 15 minutes though.
If you wanna sync via the wire, just sync with the desktop manager, you should not be trying to do both
If someone helped you give them kudos. Research all info!

  • Desktop Manager won't work with Bold 9900 no matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall!

This really is a shambles and Blackberry are no help!! Can you guys help!! My blackberry won't SYNC with my computer! I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software, it isn't ideal at all!
Any tips, I connect device and for hours it comes up on device manager, 'Connecting' nothing changes!
Anyone provide any tips on how I can get this to work.
I have been downloading device manager 7.0 but it doesnt work and Blackberry arent interested in helping!

OH! So this isn't really a sync problem, but a connectivity problem between the BB and the Desktop Software (lack of sync is a cascaded symptom, but connectivity is the root issue)...much different! In which case, here is the list of troubleshooting articles...hopefully something will be useful:

Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
Also check on conflicting software...it has been reported that the software package NTI Shadow&Ninja can cause a conflict; removing them and reinstalling the BB desktop software allows it to install correctly.
Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these. Also apologies if any are not presently available...RIM takes them up and down at will as they revise things.
    Hopefully something there is helpful!

  • How to change BB desktop manager language ?

I downloaded BB desktop manager many times. Each time I download only ARABIC language is being installed. I tried downloading the ENGLISH version also. But STILL I have the same trouble. I read your post regarding this but I couldn't get any right solution for this. Please if anyone knows the correct step by step procedure for changing the language or any other solutions it would be really thankful.

In order to post a picture, you will first have to host it online at any one of the many free or paying hosting sites across the web. Photobucket is a good example. Then you can either post the picture as a link (suggested) or as a picture to be displayed. Either of those two can be done by clicking one of the two buttons in the posting menu above your message box when you are typing a response or new thread. The "Insert/edit link" button looks like a simple, silver chain link. The "Insert/edit image" looks like a tree with a blue background. Good luck.

Sorry if to much information. I have downloaded and installed v4.5 of the BB Desktop Manager on my PC. When I go into Application loader to load a new application I noticed that all the applications listed as well as the BB System Software and the BB Core Applications had an action of Downgrade listed and the version was earlier than what was already loaded on my BB. If I uncheck the box beside the Application name it changes the action Downgrade to Remove. Well I do not want want to Downgrade or Remove. If I click on the "Check for updates" link it just takes me to the page where I downloaded v4.5 in the first place.
What I really want to accomplish is just load this new application on the BB without changing what is already there. But, if there is a way to upgrade the version of applications contained in the BB Desktop Manager that would be nice to.

  • How do I remove Desktop Manager from loading every time I turn on my PC?

Desktop Manager loads every time I turn on my PC.  How do I make that stop?  I only want Desktop Manager to load when I plug in my BB to do a backup/restore, etc.  I use Windows 7.

    Hello wvusuperfan,
Open the Desktop Software, select the Tools menu and go to General tab and make sure the "Start BlackBerry Desktop Software when a device is connected" options is unchecked.
Press OK  and close the application.

  • How to uninstall the BlackBerry desktop manager

    Hello everyone,
Roxio Media manager keeps on installing itself.  I read on this forum that I have uninstall the BB desktop manager, and install it again to solve the issues.  WINDOWS CAN NOT DELETE IT. When I delete the BlackBerry desktop manager, it just tries to install itself again. In the mean time Roxio Media manager keeps on trying to install itself.  DOES RIM HAS UNSTALLATION PROGRAM FOR THE BB DESKTOP MANAGER?  I would appreciate any help.

  • How to locate corrupted appointment that crashes Desktop Manager?

I think that I have a corrupted calendar entry, but I don't know which one.  I have followed this KB article (http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB01451&sliceId=SAL_Pub...)to get error logs, but instead of telling one how to analyze the output file and determine the offending appointment, it just says to get in touch with your technical service person with these files, which I do not have.
How can I find my corrupted appointment so that my BlackBerry will sync with my calendar without crashing the Desktop Manager?
    Thank you for your help.

if you don't have many appointments, you can do this :

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
A dropped BB...the only thing that can be predicted is that the results will be unpredictable. At an internet distance, it's pretty much impossible to know for sure when it comes to hardware issues. If it won't turn on at all, then your PC will not be able to communicate with it, rendering everything except what is on the SD card "gone for good".
To find your backup file, search your entire PC hard drive for files with IPD extension (*.IPD). Inspect the date/time the files were created...the newest one being your best candidate to use for restore to a new BB. Then, use the procedure in this KB to perform the restore:

  • How to copy data from one BB to another via Desktop Manager

I've got two BBs (8900 and 9300), both actively in use and with different data (contacts, memos, etc.) on them.
I need to copy my tasks, memos and contacts from 8900 to 9300. I tried "switch phones" option, but it substitutes data, while I need to syncronize it, so that data from 8900 is added to what is currently is on the 9300.
Is it possible to do it via Desktop Manager? It seems there was somewhere an option "copy data from another BB", but I can't find it in the latest Desktop Manager version.

You would need to use Desktop Mangaer to sync BB1 with a local PIM program (such as Outlook or Lotus Notes) to get the information off BB1. Then use Desktop Manager to sync BB2 with the same PIM program.

  • How do I change settings so Blackberry desktop manager doesn't open when I start my computer??

I want the desktop manager to open when I ask it to, or else to open automatically when I connect my phone to the computer by USB.  Currently, it opens when I start my computer.  I would greatly appreciate any help with this.

Did you install the software from a CD or download it?
If from the CD, put it back in your drive. When the wizard appears choose the Modify option. Select the BlackBerry Desktop Manager from the 3 choices listed and hit Next. Your going to reselect the same options as you did when you first installed the software, but stop and the last step where you have the 2 checkboxes. You want to uncheck the top one that talks about starting the software when the computer starts
If you just downloaded the software go into Add/Remove Programs, select the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and hit the Change/Remove button. Then just follow the steps above.
    Hope this helps

  • Deleting past calendar events on sync with desktop manager for mac? How to proceed

I am new to Blackberry desktop manager for mac.  It is all set up and first sync is done without a problem.  Now when I try to sync, I get a message that over 600 of my past calendar items will be deleted if I continue with sync.  I need to keep previous calendar items, is there a way to solve this problem and not delete past events?  I am sorry for asking this question, I am just new and very unsure of what I am doing.  I had used missing sync before, but when my blackberry had to be replaced, new blackberry wouldn't work so I wanted to try desktop manager.  HELP!  Thanks!

I am having the same problem. checked space, had to delete 2 apps. was set to forever, just changed to from 30 days in past to 18 months in future hoping it would make a difference on sync. Still trying to delete 1256 events.
