  • How do I get incoming mail in one of my mailboxes unstuck.  It will not download any mail in one box but the other mailbox works fine

How do I get incoming mail in one of my mailboxes unstuck??  It is trying to download it but seems jammed.  The other mailbox is working fine.  I know there is mail there because it is coming into my bb.  This just started this morning.  I took someone's suggestion and duplicated my mail from the library and I then put com.apple.mail.plist on my desktop.  I was unable to delete the incoming mail from the mailbox however so don't know what to do.
    Help?

Try this: If this is Apple Mail, select the Mailbox, then from the Mail Menu>Mailbox>Rebuild.

If you want to hear your music on iPhone without interruption, switch Settings > Airplane Mode: ON.

  • Can Mail block all incoming mail from a particular domain?

Can Mail be configured to block all incoming mail from a particular domain? I'd rather it be sent to the bit bucket than sent to a spam folder.

Yes, go in to your rules and set it up for a folder of your choosing.  Click on the mail menu item then select preferences and then click on rules.

  • Configure sendmail to reject all incomming mail?

how would i configure sendmail on solaris8 to reject or trash all incomming email and still maintain capability to send email?

I found this thread useful and wonder why it some of this information isn't more readily available. Webservers shouldn't be running at mailservers and so the sendmail daemon doesn't boot up. Mail at cron and through .cgi/perl scripts utilize the sendmail on the servers I manage.
BUT -- in the last six months I find I'm having to reconfigure the sendmail.cf to find a way around an email configuration problem in our networks somewhere.
I've normally used the smart relay without problem. Now, even though I have the "connect" for mail going out to several different mail relays on the domain, the mail does not get delivered. I've tried to trace it down to one relay and have been unsuccessful.
The solution, and I don't understand it, is that we've setup a mail relay on a windows box in our domain and I've edited the sendmail.cf to use that mail relay instead of the smart relay.
In addition, and this is really strange to me, but I'm not a sendmail guru -- we're masquerading as a hotmail.com
If we don't masquerade as hotmail.com and use our own relay, the mail receipients don't receive mail occasionally. Both of these have to be in place for it to work successfully.
I think someone, somewhere, has a rule setup incorrectly, but it's beyond the relays we normally default to. With the mail relay setup in our domain, it accepts the mail because it's a relay, but what kind of rule would they possibly setup that accepts us masquerading as someone else???
    Can anyone help explain this?
I personally would love to see some documentation on how an SA could setup sendmail.cf for their webservers as outgoing and have it RIGHT.
Thanks for listening.... feel free to say something. :-)

  • *** How to set up incoming mail servers in Apple mail

I wasn't able to reply to messages in my inbox this morning so I trashed the mail preferences and re-opened the program. I had a bit of a panic initially but realized that all my mailboxes were there (thought they had been deleted). The problem is that the program is defaulting to the wrong incoming mail server (a .mac server) and I can't get in to change it to my POP server......it won't allow me to input their information. Is there something I can do to change/fix this?
    Thanks in advance!

Big: I'm confused, too. I am unsure why you "trashed" your mail preferences. Anyway, when you go to Mail-> Preferences... what shows in your incoming mail server? If it shows your Pop server account, than I, too, am at a loss why, all of a sudden, youu're being shunted to your now defunct .mac account.
Can you just delete that .mac account and go back and fill in your pop address in incoming?
If no one comes up with a brilliant suggestion, I'd go to your ISP website and rumage around til you come upon their FAQ's on mail server problems. If that doesn't work, perhaps a call to their tech support might be in order.

  • How to delete all my mail

Hello I'm trying to delete all my mail but I don't know how I holded command a and deleting all of them but they keep coming back please help
    MacBook Pro Late 2011 edition
    OS X Mavericks
    4GB of RAM

It would be great if Apple included a select all option in the mail app but I imagine this would result in lots of people deleting all their email when they thought they were in their spam folder and were actually in their inbox so to protect us from our selves, Apple didn't offer this option.  I would love it myself, but as the other poster says, you need to do it on your computer in your web browser.

  • How to use standard yahoo mail in Safari on my iPhone?

I try to get my mail through safari on my iphone using regular web-based yahoo mail. After I sign in, there is a toolbar at the bottom that has buttons like delete, compose mail etc. It was not there in the first place but I don't know what I pressed and it showed up. Is there any way to hide that toolbar?

Why would you want to use web based Yahoo mail when the iPhone supports Yahoo mail in the native mail client, even if it's not a premium account?
Just set up your yahoo account in Mail.

(I had a problem, with my Mail account, which a consultant fixed for me on my laptop.  But I cannot remember what he did to access the incoming mail server preferences, and make the changes, because on my desktop these are still greyed out.)

  • How to delete ALL e-mails from an account

My husband, Edward, passed away several months ago.  I'm just now getting around to figuring out what he left "in the cloud".  I discovered yesterday that his Verizon.net e-mail account contains close to 30,000 e-mails.  I want to delete all of them, but Verizon segregates the e-mails into pages of 30 each, so when you click the page checkbox, then click Delete, it only deletes the 30 on that page.  That means I would have to repeat this 1,000 times, which I'm not about to do.  I can find no way to delete ALL e-mails.  Is there a way to do that?

30 messages displayed is the default, but you can change that.  On your email page, under "settings" is an option to change the number of messages per page.  One  option is "no limit."
