How to undecline an expired update

Hi,
By mistake, I have "declined" a bunch of updates rather than "approving" them.
Is there a way, either
I can delete them from WSUS database and resync  ?   or
bring them back to Not Approved state ?
Below is the screenshot that display when I select declined udpates.
Any help is appreciated.

By mistake, I have "declined" a bunch of updates rather than "approving" them.
Well.. first... starting your OWN thread for your own unique problem, rather than tacking onto a four -and-a-half year old unrelated thread would have been preferable behavior.
But.... to do what you asked (which is undecline an update):
In the console, "All Updates" view, set the Approval dropdown filter to "Any Except Declined".
Find the updates you're interested in, right click, select Approval and set to "Not Approved".
But, before you go that far, are you familiar with what an EXPIRED update is?
I would suggest you consider reviewing the
WSUS Operations Guide, as well as this overview on Windows
Update Management, if you have further "how to use the console" questions.

  • Best Practice for Expired updates cleanup in SCCM 2012 SP1 R2

    Hello,
I am looking for assistance in finding a best practice method for dealing with expired updates in SCCM SP1 R2. I have read a blog post: http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrteam/archive/2012/04/12/software-update-content-cleanup-in-system-center-2012-configuration-manager.aspx
I have been led to believe there may be a better method, or a more up to date best practice process in dealing with expired updates.
On one side I was hoping to keep a software update group intact, to have a history of what was deployed, but also wanting to keep things clean and avoid issues down the road as i used to in 2007 with expired updates.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Sean

The best idea is still to remove expired updates from software update groups. The process describes in that post is still how it works. That also means that if you don't remove the expired updates from your software update groups the expired updates will
    still show...
To automatically remove the expired updates from a software update group, have a look at this script:
    http://www.scconfigmgr.com/2014/11/18/remove-expired-and-superseded-updates-from-a-software-update-group-with-powershell/

  • Expired updates not being cleaned up

    Hi,
I've been trying to clean up old expired updates on my SCCM 2012 SP1 server and for whatever reason it seems that the updates files are never actually getting removed.
At first I tried the instructions at
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrteam/archive/2012/04/12/software-update-content-cleanup-in-system-center-2012-configuration-manager.aspx
When I run the script they provide it appears to go thru all the updates but never actually deletes any of them. The script always seems to say found it found an existing folder and then later it says that that it is excluding the same folder because
    it is active.
Then I read that SP1 for SCCM 2012 is actually supposed to do the clean up process automatically.  But in this case do I need to do anything like expire the updates manually or does SCCM now do that?  How can I see what is preventing either
the manual script or the automatic clean up process from actually removing the unneeded files and folders?
And does anything need to be done with superseded updates as well?
Also I've always thought that when you SCCM 2012 to do your updates that you should never go to the WSUS console and do anything but I read
http://blog.coretech.dk/kea/house-of-cardsthe-configmgr-software-update-point-and-wsus/ and he is going the WSUS console and doing a clean up there as well.
    Thanks in advance,
    Nick

  • Expired Updates Removal - Best Practices

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrteam/archive/2012/04/12/software-update-content-cleanup-in-system-center-2012-configuration-manager.aspx
I was searching for best practices for removing expired updates from environment and found this useful link.
    There are some queries :
    1) It actually says to remove all the expired updates in one go without removing them from SUG's first. When the expired updates which are also part of active SUG are removed, wouldn't this trigger a software update rescan request for all clients in the collection
to which these SUG's were targeted to, to rescan the patches required as there was a change in the SUG ?
    2) How about deleting the deployments from collections and then removing the expired updates from only those SUG and proceed in this way. Wouldn't this lower the processing ?
    3) The expired update not part of any SUG will be removed, just to make sure, if the expired update is part of SUG but not targeted to any collection, will it still be removed ?
    4) Once the expired update is removed, what will be the process of its removal from the Distribution Point. What other automated tasks will be triggered for this like updatation of software update packages on DP once there is any change etc? I have been prestaging
software update packages and extracting them on DP's. For any new DP, as the prestage still contains the older updates (expired, which were removed), Will they get extracted on new DP ?
Are all the steps i mentioned above valid in case of superseded updates instead of expired ?

I am not clear of the below Jacob :
If you delete the deployment, all of the policy for those updates will be removed.
But, that removes every single update and not just the ones you removed.  A bit more processing goes into removing everything.
What my concern here is, suppose there are 10 SUG's deployed to 40 collections each. lets
    say there are 1000 updates.
If i select all the expired updates and just edit their membership, suppose random udpates
are part of all 10 SUG deployments. Removing these will trigger the policy cycle for all the collection clients.
What i was talking about is, if I pick up 1 SUG out of 10 and remove it from 40 collections
first. Once it is done, then go ahead with removing the expired updates from this SUG.
This is what i need some clarification on.

  • How do I use AO update in the Route signal.vi

    Hi support,
My goal is to create a waveform (to buffer it) and output it using the analog card (PCI-6713) N times and with the frequency F. Apperanlty this is done using a (actually 2) digital counter(s) on the PCI-6602 card.
This is done using route signal.vi using "AO update". However I have not managed to get it working. I only get error -10341. So my questions are how do I do it? More specificly how do I use AO update in the Route singal.vi Do I need to conect the cards in any perticular way (cabels or so)? Also do you have more information about how the vi route signal works (the help file does not help me much)?
    Grateful for all help.
I'm using labview 6.0 as developpement platform, and using the PCI-6601, PCI-67
13 and a PCI-7344 cards. Since the program is quite large I will only send a portion of it, the pulseGen is supposed to generate the waveform (loaded as a text file, also submitted) the digital output used is in case 1 (in pulseGen) the analog output is in case 3. The MissingWaveform.vi is just to ensure that a waveform is supplied to the pulseGen.vi
    Sorry about the mess.

Cabling and Interfacing between Boards: You have capability for direct simultaneous connection between 6713 and 6602 (also 6601) via the RTSI bus, but you need to get a cable to connect between the boards. You can connect between the boards using the I/O pins of their respective signal conditioning hardware. These connections are slower. There are also PFI (Programmable Function Interfaces) connections that are set within the VI's.
All that said, it is not obvious why you want to use the RTSI. You can use the PCI-6713 to generate AO. Presumably you have some signal conditioning accessory; which ever pin of that accessory the AO appears on, you wire it over to the SC accessory for the 6601 and the appropriate pin for the counter gate or
    source you want to use.
Suggestions: Don't try to work in the context of your big VI for now. Get the AO bit and the counting bit to work together by themselves. Then shoe-horn them into the big VI. Also, consider a call to the NI help line. They are very good. 800.433.3488 (800IEEE488)
In case you hadn't noticed the DAQ cards and Counter/Timer cards come in different flavors and there are specific example VI's to suit. 6602 uses NI-TIO chip, but PCI-671X are DAQ-STC. Again the NI help people are good at catching this kind of stuff.
Your question is rather large and hard to manage. Perhaps if you break it down into small chunks the advise will be more free flowing.

.. and by the way, the jump from FCP 6.0.3 to FCP 7.0 (or higher) isn't an "update"  It's a full version "upgrade" that has to be done using the install discs (or disc images).

As far as I know the One Note is a part of the Recovering Image and the CD is not delivered with the unit. Furthermore the Toshiba units are not delivered with the Office 2000 software.

  • How can I get an updated safari browser?

Hi.  I have a Macbook Pro, Mac OS X, version 10.6.8; I am getting error messages about updating my browser.  I checked the apple store to see if I could download a new version of Safari, but could not.  How can I get an updated safari browser at this time without downloading the new OS X Yosemite.  I know I might need to download the Yosemite, but would prefer to wait untill all the glitches are fixed.  I have learned that the Yosemite may cause wifi failure and e-mail connection problems.  Since I am not a computer expert, I don't need the headaches trying to figure out how what is wrong and how to fix a bug, so I would prefer to wait untill apple has totally fixed all the glitches that the Yosemite has. In the meanwhile, I just need to know how to go about updating a newer version of safari. I thing I have a 5.0
I would be greatfull for your help or response.

Safari 5.1.10 is the newest version for Snow Leopard, and all available Mac OS X upgrades other than Yosemite require a purchase. You may want to switch to another browser, such as Firefox, temporarily.

How do I remove unwanted updates from the App Store? So you understand better what I'm referring to:
I have the App Store icon in the Dock. When there's an update a red number appears on said icon. Well, I went to check on the updates and it's for 4 different applications I either no longer have or use. One of them is an update for Lion OS users. I'm still on Snow Leopard, so it doesn't even apply to me.
So there they sit... I'm not going to download the updates... so how do I get rid of them?

    Hi Andy ..
    no longer have or use
If there are updates available for apps you have deleted, try this.
    Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Move the Cache.db and Updates files from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
Empty the Trash, restart your Mac.
For any apps you still have installed but do not use, the updates will still be available from the Updates top of the App Store window and show on the red badge on the App Store icon in the Dock.

How come I can't update my iPad 1 to the new iOS 6 it says my iOS version 5.1.1 is the latest version?

The iPad 1, coming up on three years since it was introduced, has been given two major and a number of minor upgrades to iOS, more than many tablet manufactures provide. The iPad 1's hardware just can't effectively support many of the features in iOS 6. So I don't think that it's particularly unfair for Apple to no longer provide updates. And yes, I do own and manage a number of iPad 1s.
