How to understand Note1305698 creating new material batch masters data

In note 1305698 have below description：
When creating new material masters for materials subject to batch management and using
classified batches, it is not possible to create the first batch record in the EWM system. This
means that, for a material, the first batch is always created in the EWM system and must be
transferred to the EWM system because this creates the connection between material and class.
I confused by this statement.

sorry, that is a typo in the english translation of the note. The original german says: "Dies bedeutet, dass zu einem Material die erste Charge jeweils immer auf ERP-Seite angelegt und an das EWM-System übertragen werden muss, da hierdurch die Verbindung zwischen Material und Klasse angelegt wird."
(now translated from me): This means that, for a material, the first batch is always created in the ERP system and must be transferred to the EWM system because this creates the connection between material and class.

I hope there is no assignment of GL account to material group. If you want that, you can assign Valuation class to material group in OMQW transaction.
Because of the valuation class, the system can find the assigned G/L account number in OBYC. In this case Transaction Key GBB and General modification VBR.

Path: - SPRO >> Logistics u2013 General >> Material Master >> Settings for Key Fields >> Define Material Groups.
Select existing material group and click on Copy As button.
Enter material group code, material group name and long description for material group.
Then click on save button for save material group.

While creating new material types what things should be taken in to consideration?
If i want to create it by using copy function which ref. material type we should select and why?.e.g. ZSCRAP- Scrap Material

Grouping of Material that have same basic properties can be assigned to one material type.
While creating new material types following points to be considered as material type controls following things,
1) Material is intended for certain purpose ( For ex consumption)
2) Whether material Number to be assigned internally or externally
3) Number range intervals
4) Screen sequence & which screens to be appeared
5)Which user data can be entered
6) Which procurement type ( Internal or external)
7) Inventory management i.e. value & qty update required..
You can also change material type for a material under following conditions.
1) Old & new material type must be assigned to same account category,
OR
2) No. open PO ,stocks or reservations

Field Ref. and SRef,mat type when creating new material types

While creating new material type we are giving the Filed ref. on that basis sytem find which fields are option mand. etc. below the filed ref. there is also SRef for material type , why this fileld is use ? if this is screen sequence ref. then what is use of industry sector when creating material bcoz industry sector also determines the scrren ref. then which will follow when we creat the material.

Hi,
SRef is the Screen reference .
You have to create the Sref then it should assign depending on the transaction.
Grouping of transactions that determines what screens are displayed depending on the transaction when you maintain material master records. It also determines the order in which the screens appear.
The screen reference Transaction is in table T130M.
In material master the first reference is industry sector,then specific to the industry sector what is the material type & screen sequence.

Hi and welcome to the lenovo forum,
the quickstart itself will/ is install/ed in hidden folders on the windows partition. Installed as a normal program and de-/re-installable , its available in the download driver section .
Next ..that used free software has no spy/nag or virus in ..
Important is Do as a first step , backup/save the whole hdd on an extra media external hdd i.e.because changing position and size you could loose your recovery function...!

Aware you can loose with grub and linux install your recovery feature ... quickstart is totally independed about that..so if that proggy is activated in BIOS/or windows ...and you have installed i.e. linux, see whats happen when you start ... start ...quickstart will comes first , you can use quickstart or ... if you didnt press any key while starting (boot-progress) it will go further, grubloader comes up now you can choose boot to windows or linux ...

As per your Advise, Literally I have Search the Properties for the Components to set value Null, but I am Unable to find the Value in Properties palate. I have tried in various options like
In the Properties Palate
TextField1_onselect use Value null
TextField1_text I have selected use Value option and I have manually Keyed-in null;
In the JSP Page, I have manually keyed in the null value below said

How can I know the new Material Master has been created?

Does anyone have been tried about how to trigger the new Material Master has been created at a time interaval(maybe an hour or a day)?
I want to transfer the new Material Master within a given period from SAP R/3 4.6C to .NET Application through standard BAPI or RFC and .NET Connector 2.0. How can I do?
Any suggestion is wellcome. Thank You.

I've tried RFC that retrieve Material Detail by using BAPI_MATERIAL_GETLIST. It works fine but if I want to retrive the new Material or modified within a given period of time(for example 15 or 30 minutes). How I can do? Is there any standard BAPI or RFC to call from .NET or I have to write new RFC.
I have little background of ABAP so help me please. If I have to create new RFC, is there any ABAP Function to call or which table I can retrive those information.

Creating new material

Hi everybody
im trying to create a new material using BAPI through C#.
im using BAPI_MATERIAL_GETINTNUMBER then BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA to create the new material and everything working but when i try to create a new purchase order for the new material i got a message saying the material is not activated or does not exist. i can find the new material in the MARA table.
Any advise will be helpfull.

MM01 Create New Material Master without Basic view

Hi,
The SAP system allow us to create a new material master Purchasing View only (without Basic views). We execute T-code MM01, select Purchasing view only, enter the purchasing view data and save. Material master created with only the Purchasing view.
We want to control whereby Basic view must be created first before any plant/organisation material views (Sales, purchasing, Accouting etc) can be created. That means user cannot create Purchasing view ONLY if the Basic views is not created, can this be done??

For most of the standard SAP material types the basic data 1 view is configured as mandatory, but that can be turned off in the configuration. The first place I would look would be in SPRO under 'Logistics - General -> Material Master -> Basic Settings -> Material Types -> Define Attributes of material types'. In this transaction, highlight the material type being used and click on the magnifying glass. The section 'User departments' shows what views can be created for a material. You need to check 'Basic Data' is selected here.
If that isn't the problem, then I would suggest that you look at the screen sequence and also the field selection configuration for the material type, which you can find under 'Logistics - General -> Material Master -> Configuring the Material Master'. This configuration dictates what fields are shown on the material master and the status of each field, i.e. whether it is mandatory or not.

When Creating a brand new material, the BAPI will create multiple MBEWH records, which is causing to update Previous Period/Year Moving Average price to update in MBEW.
Any suggestion, why the BAPI would create historical data for MBEWH?

Error in number range when creating new material

Hi All,
We just recently changed the number range format of our material master. Earlier it was numerical and no it contains alphanumeric data.
To do the change, in the material type i selected the option "External Number Assignment w/o check".
Now i deselcted the option and tried to create a material with the old number range, it does not allow me to do so.It gives the error "Number 12345 not defined for Material Type".
What changes need to be done to allow numerical characters to be accepted?

The issue seems to be that the number range has not got assigned to an element. When i try to assign an element, i get the following error-
NR020- The number range interval with number 01 must be internal

Creating new material using i/b MATMAS IDOC

Hi mates,
I'm trying to create a material in R/3 using an inbound MATMAS IDOC. The material type I use is confiugured for internal number assignment. So, I'm leaving the E1MARAM-MATNR blank.
But, the IDOC failing saying 'No Material Transfered'.
I'm using '005' for the field MSGFN in E1MARAM, E1MAKTM, E1MARMM etc. Is this the right value?
I'm trying to create a material with only the basic view data maintained.
Whats wrong/missing in my config?

Cannot create new Events in specific Dates???

I am having a problem creating a new event for a specific date, November 4th. What I did: I duplicated an event that took place in October 30th and dragged it to the desired date, in Monthly View, but iCal doesn't let me drop it in the day I want. The event can be dropped in the previous (3rd) or the next day (5th).
When I use Daily View, i can navigate up to November 3rd, but then the left-arrow button does not take me to 4th.
Has this happened to anyone? Can anybody help me?
(by the way, I am using iCal 2.0.5).

Hmm....I was able to fix my issues. I'll share it here in the event it can help you.
While iCal was closed I simply moved to trash the folder "/Users/<my username>/Library/Application Support/iCAl/" I then re-opened iCal and I could then create new or import old ".ics" files, close iCal and re-open with all information being retained. Sweet!
